  1. One more thing... Crockett wants no part of Liberty or NS. They aint Dyersburg....
  2. You know you are the only one to post on coacht from Jackson. U say it yourself all of the time... Nobody in the stands to support the players. Its sad really, with the talent in Jackson. There are also about three schools too many in the city of jackson. This is however a matchup of the only two relevant teams in town. Should be a good game. Usually is a close game. Think the team to beat to get to the clinic bowl is always Trezevant. Nothing new there.
  3. The loss to Northside in the playoffs was in 2012... Walton was already at Ole Miss... playing over Dodson.... think Jordan Wilkins (SBA, small private school) has more carries than Dodson this year...
  4. The year you speak of, Ridgeway did make it to the semi's. They beat Jackson Northside in the quarterfinals, I sat in Halle Stadium and watched it. Then went on to play Henry County, who in turn beat up on Powell in the Championship game. Have been a fan of what Whitehaven has done over the past few years. But people like you make it hard for outsiders to like Whitehaven. Kind of remind me of UT fans talking about their 20 year old national chamoionship. Dont forget that East is still looming. They beat Central by 3 td's and Whitehaven only beat them by a fg.....
  5. Comparing JCM and Haywood is like comparing water and drought. JCM has zero organization. Haywood is a different team than JCM in a lot of aspects. There is rhyme and reason to what Haywood does. They also have several players back from a decent team last year. Should be a competitive game but don't be surprised if the Tomcats repeat with a victory.
  6. Too soon. Lol. Does South Pitt run the wing t? The veer is a difficult offense to defend. Especially when you don't play against it many times. If South Pitt runs the wing t, it is also very difficult to defend when run well. Just an outsiders opinion, it looks to be a good battle.
  7. Ridgeway is faster than West. And HC outran them. Speed will probably not be a factor in this one. I'm gonna go with execution as the determining factor. HC is pretty good at that too.
  8. I don't remember saying anything about Giles being priviledged kids. Or anything close to that for that matter. The previous post I responded to seemed to me to be a jab at Trezevant for lack of support by fans. I could very easily have been wrong. It's your fellow Giles countian that took offense to my response. Support from the community, which Giles has, is an awesome thing. That can propel a team to do great things when the kids feel important or that they are a part of the community as a whole. I'm not knocking Giles County at all. They are one of 4 teams left in the state in their class. My bad for misinterpreting a post. With all that said, I still say Trezevant wins in a close battle.
  9. That's a nice little jab catfan. It really shows your better side. However, I will not be making the trip as I am not a Trezevant fan. Just a spectator of the 4a classification. After you and others making jabs at Trezevant for not having support, I sincerely hope the score is much worse than my prediction. You see trezevant hasn't had many people at the last 13 games, and that hasn't hurt them too much. You can make fun of a persons situation if you want. But I am fairly certain that the group of 11 kids that take the field tonight in white jerseys will play as a team regardless of how many or few people are in the stands.
  10. No Memphis teams run wing t. Germantown runs the bone. That being said, the wing doesn't usually work against teams from Memphis too well. The premise of the wing t is creating angles that are hard to overcome. What neutralizes that? Speed. I'm fairly positive WS has plenty of that.
  11. Undisciplined AND in the semi's? I don't think you really know what you're talking about. Ask Mt Juliet about undisciplined Memphis teams. Because they have been sent home a couple times by an undisciplined Memphis team.
  12. Like I said..... Giles better not play like their alumnus! As far as tomorrow night goes, I say Giles offense will be unpleasantly suprised by Trezevants defense. Giles probably has enough athletes to not get gashed by the run. Trezevant 21 Giles 7. Then it's on to your Falcons, FHSalum.
  13. Lol. I mostly meant it as a joke. He's done a pretty good job in Oxford. Far better than 2-10 a couple of years ago. Should be a good game in Pulaski Friday night. That's what you hope to see this time of year anyway.
  14. Trezevant has been to the semis twice now in the last 4 years and once to the title game. Would have been deep in playoffs two years ago if it weren't for probation. And gave Covington a far tougher test in the quarters last year than Liberty the next week in the semis. So the recent resumes are similar if the edge is not given to Trezevant. Since it is my belief that my Rebels would be better with any other qb than Bo Wallace, I will be hoping the Bears win this one.
  15. mg, I did not see the game between Dburg and Trezevant. I did however see the game between Dburg and Covington. And also the game between Trezevant and Covington. That was a nail biter of a game! As far as Liberty being as good as last year's Covington team. I cannot in good conscience say that. Covington had some major horsepower last year. I do think Liberty's defense is pretty dang good. Their offense is not going to wow you but they have some athletes that can take it the distance of the defensive pieces aren't fitting right. The problem that dyersburg will face with both Trezevant and Liberty will be that they have not played a defense that can hold the Trojans in check. The only one close so far has been Haywood and while they have made huge leaps and bounds of progress since last year, they aren't quite on the level of the other two. I could be completely wrong. Liberty may even go quad 3. Many in West Tn would probably not be upset if that happened. I wouldn't sleep on Covington either. If they get everybody healthy, they do have good athletes and have one of the best staffs in the state.
  16. Respectfully, you are wrong. Dyersburg has not played a team as fast and physical as Liberty. The Bears are also lurking in the shadows. I don't see Dyersburg making it out of their quad.
  17. Does the being closer to I-40 deal apply to Liberty/Chester County also in quad 3 and 4? Chester is def further east than Liberty.
  18. Dyersburg is not Alcoa good. They will have to play Trezevant and/or Liberty before the title game. And probably Pearl Cohn or the team that beat them in the semi's.
  19. Actually I want to recant and predict South Side getting in with wins over JCM and Bolivar to finish 4-6. Also Chester Co finishes off with a win over McNairy to take second in district. Giving 14AA three teams in. Where would South Side and Liberty push each other? In the even that happened. Somebody has to get to 4 wins and knock Obion out.
  20. Craigmont gets in even in the event of a loss correct? As a wild card? You think obion gets in instead of someone like Bolivar? They have South Side left, that could be a 4th win for the Tigers. If Bolivar were to get that win and knock Obion out, would that put Bolivar quad 3 and Liberty quad 4? This is all speculation at best.
  21. District 14 will have to have one more team in other than Lexington. The second place team will get an automatic bid. I doubt Ripley beats Liberty so they probably won't get in. Obion certainly won't get in. I think Liberty is in quad 4. Making it a fairly stout quad also. Trezevant Craigmont Dyersburg Covington and probably Crockett are in as automatic bids. Haywood probably qualifies for wildcard. NS probably qualifies for wildcard. Liberty is an automatic qualifier now. They more than likely go 4. I don't know who else could qualify from Jackson westward.
  22. I'm with you. There are probably several young coordinators around the state that would be ready to take on this challenge to get a program started. And it is a challenge. But all good things are challenges. A younger coach would have the desire to put their name on the map. And that might just be the type of energy the program needs to get started. I played at an NAIA school. And I will tell you I learned more about fundamentals and gameplay from my coaches in high school.
  23. My post was more geared towards the fella that said that there would be running clock in the third quarter against Milan. Dyersburg has no doubt improved from early struggles. If they win Friday they should have the district all but locked up.
  24. Hopefully I do better this week. Arlington Bolton CBHS Lausanne Frayser Houston Central Southwind Station Camp Whitehaven
