Hope #1 stays healthy.......MHS will need his senior "leadership" in a close hard fought game....Vaught is able to use his legs to get the offense out of trouble on a busted play. Vaught "knows" the offense, will have players lined up with the right calls and can take care of the football.

Fulton did win in the championship 7 on 7 game.......Maryville beat them in round (pool) play but didn't make it to championship game ...... That is the only time they faced them. Josh Jones was beaten by a kid he had on this past years future stars team.....picked off a throw away pass which scored the game winning points...7 on 7 has some mixed up scoring rules and it is crazy how those games can change in 1 minute...Maryville would love to play some Knoxville teams, wished they had a true middle school teams.

From what "you heard" is right but not for the reason of not wanting to play them. The section of TSSAA that governs accredited middle school teams will not allow "BY RULES" for any school in the middle school TSSAA to play nonTSSAA teams...so I guess from what you "hear" go ahead and assume whatever you want......by the way Maryville Middle beat Fulton in the 7 on 7 at Maryville College. But that isn't real football LOL Maryville and Alcoa struggle every year to fill out a complete schedule because most teams decline to play them.

Wish Knoxville teams would play, hard for Maryville and Alcoa to find enough games to fill out a quality schedule.

West played a very good game against Maryville I would think West has a real chance at the 5A State Championship.... I was very impressed with the West team ( a lot of speed )......West has my respect

The championship game is played by the 2 top teams after their conference records are final.....no playoff > just #1 team vs #2 team >how they finish in the conference final standings.... This season : Alcoa was #1 Sevier County #2 Maryville #3 Alcoa decided not to play in championship game so Maryville was bumped in

Maryville WR #5 caught 2 TD passes in the championship game. Over heard a coach after the game telling him that he broke the record for number of TD receptions in a season ...... Cody Carroll and Christian Markham were tied at 10 TD receptions.....#5 finished the season with 11

Alcoa has a great group at the middle school level this year, a lot of quality athletes and young men....did beat Maryville in regular season and made it look easy they controlled the game. But you never know what will happen in the championship game until it is played out . Last year Alcoa won the league and beat Maryville during regular season pretty easily also but what a great championship game they both played.....Maryville won with a field FG in OT...... teams that are the best during regular season do not always end up winning championship game.....maybe Alcoa's coach didn't want to take a chance on his team being very disappointed again like last season....... You never know LOL Congrats to Alcoa on a great undefeated season.......I really do not want to take anything away from what those kids accomplished .... Congrats to Maryville ..... 3rd straight Championship
