Losers love excuses. I love they play in a five team region now. Good luck finding six games around here. IMG is looking for games.

Some thoughts: 1) RHS lined up #2 in positions he had not regularly lined up in to get him in spaces and match-ups that favored RHS 2) RHS exploited MHS's weaker spot (secondary) 3) #2 was muh better than he showed the last two games in the playoffs. He was lights out until he got stroked a couple of times. He lost a step and heard footsteps later in the game. 4) RHS O coordinator had the best plan (more than just handing off to a stud RB) MHS has seen 5) The belief in winning never vacated our sidelne. This is a direct reflection of our coaches. 6) MHS definitely made more mistakes than RHS, but overcame them and executed when we had to. 7) Both schools demonstrate the best of high school athletics - class, academics, execution, and perseverence. 8) Awesome game to be a part of and will never forget that moment

This homework is killing me. i hope I can get it done and get some sleep. We need to be sharp for Saturday. RW football team is good and perhaps the best fundamental team we have played in a while. Go REBELS!!!

Where are all the Ravenwood Fans? I thought Williamson County was supposed to be elite in everything.?

Excuses, Excuses. Stats are stats and you did not have enought to win. Maybe you will realize WH is not as good as you think they are. Maybe next year. You know what they say about excuses

TSSAA is a joke! Catholic HS in Knoxville has been reported multiple times and has yet to be investigated. I guess Mr. Childress is not man enough to hold schools accountable like Ronnic Carter. Where is all our $$$ going anyway? The T$$AA sure is getting a ton from football playoffs to sit in Nashville and collec a salary without working to control schools and making them adhere to the rules.

That is not an excuse for taking small cheep shots after plays and throwing players after the whistle blows. 77 for OHS was being a cheerleader and it was very ironic that he gave up the sake for a safety at the end. Humility is a virtue. Go REBELS!!!

That would be something for them to score 30+. You do not have to be scared. You sit in the stands and have nothing to dot with the outcome. Ravenwood will be a good challenge. Still to early to make intelligent picks.

MHS played a great game. Oakland was very impressive. Perhaps the MVP is the rebel that came out of the pile with the ball on te opening kick-off. Turnover there and the game could be much different. Brian Tillery had the best game of his career. Tyler Vaught played well. Oakland was bringing 8 to stop the run every play. They had all 11 of their defensive players within 5-6 yards of the LOS. A very hard hitting game. Fun to watch and love the will to fight back when adversity began to set in. One more game. Go REBELS!!!

D1 prospects for Maryville? The "kool aide" must be free flowing through your veins. I cannot believe someon asked who has more. There is not a comparison in raw talent in this game. Any coach in America at any level when looking at the teams physical makeup and athleticism would take Oakland over Maryville. Knowing how disciplined and coachable the Rebels are might change some opinions. The hingepin in this game is the ability for MHS O-line to give the QB 2-3 seconds to pass and shield the D-line so the backs can pick up some yards. Good punt coverage is very essential for the Rebels. Go REBELS!!!

On a positive note, I think Tyler Vaught finally showed what he is capable of at QB. He looked as sharp throwing the ball and decision making as he has all year. I sure hope he is healty and ready to play next week. Go REBELS!!!

Stat from last Friday: first 7 series on offense - Tyler V. lead the team to one TD with 4 tries, Austin E. lead the team to 3 TD's with 3 tries. Tyler gives MHS a very dangerous threat on the outside at WR. Only time will tell. Go REBELS!!!

Is there another region in the state with four teams still competing? They look really strong. I just hope we can find a way to squeak one out if we can get that far. Go REBELS!!!

We could have played WV for a month and they would not have scored on our 1st team D. Maybe SC will think they can beat us this week and bring some fans. Sharptop took our student section tonight. We will be back in force next week. Go REBELS!!!

Omaha, What does a team get for playing OOS games? Trophy, $, cookie? Some coaches focus on developing young men and not accolades. GQ never talks about his wins and the talk from my cousin to the players today is that he never ever wears any of his rings. It is still HS and people like you are ruining the true experience for our youth. Go REBELS!!!

Why would Maryville play a team that poses no challenge and personally attacks our head coach because he teaches us to not bow down (take a knee). WB never brings a crowd any more.

I am sure MHS was scared to kneel due to WB hiding in the weeds waiting for us all week. Why would we show a sign of submission and weakness? Help us with where taking a knee originated and for what purpose. I find it ironic that you post all the things you do 91 and hold the position you feel so strongly about. Go REBELS!!!

91-Once GQ retires WB might have a legit chance to beat MHS. I know all streaks will be broken at some point, but what gives you this false sense of accomplishment? <-- The proper mark to put when you ask a question. I have notices you do not attend to the little things. Perhaps that is why GQ and MHS will dominate WB for years to come. The little things matter and make the difference. Go REBELS!!!

I guess the question is whether Ensley gives MHS the best chance to win it all? I might bet you on the comment about QB the next two years. It would not surprise me or many here at MHS if a Sophomore starts next year. His older brother is a running back right now. He is pretty good as well. Competition is always a good thing to make everyone better. Go REBELS!!!

I agree he is a quality man and a leader of students as people, but he does NOT develop football players. Let me give you an example: Carl Stewart did not play for him in MS. Great man-yes; Good fundamental football coach-NO. Go REBELS!!!

Just some facts to think about Alcoa: 1) When it is all said and done, Alcoa will spend close to $1,000,000 on the Jumbo tron that will work for ??? years. 2) Alcoa MS has beaten Maryville MS MANY years only to get thumped when they get to varsity in HS. 3) Why would any QB worth a snot want to turn around and hand off every play? These are reasons we love Alcoa so much in Maryville. Maybe next year you can make it a game. Go REBELS!!!

41 - Let me try to help you, if you really do want answers. It appears you do not want to hear the truth for us, but what you want though. 1-We have three out of conference games: Webb D2 state champion, Alcoa 3A state champion and one of the oldest rivalries in the state, and Sevier County a quality team that travels well and challenges us by throwing the ball; Webb does check your box of playing a winning D2 team, Alcoa has won more championships than all of 7-AAA combined and is coached by the most successful Rutherford County coach of all time, We play Sevier County to work on our entire defense not just lining up and running it every down. 2-Our conference is weaker right now than we would like, but that is not our decision or option 3-Anyone that knows football would tell you that it would be more difficult for us to win every game every year in 7-AAA just due to size and physical play. I will say that if Rutherford County had a team that would learn how to run and pass equally effectively, they would be very hard to beat. 4-MHS fans are spoiled rotten. If you come to a home game and 70% of the stadium is filled for a team that has had the success we have had, you would just shake your head. It sickens me to listen to "fans" say - I will wait and come watch the state championship game. All of this to say, we do not need to go anywhere else. We find more proven opponents around Knoxville than you want to give us credit for. I will not bash Rutherford County because I think your talent level is the best in the state, but you end up doing the least with what you have. It would be something to see MHS with the talent of Blackmon, Oakland, Whitehaven, etc...Nah...I will take our slow little rebels to battle any day!! Go REBELS!!!

BS2007 I agree with you 100%. #15 is a quality guy. He is nice to everyone in school and such a good classmate. I am just trying to get people to look at things from different angles and perspectives. For all of you who say "how could anyone question coach Quarles." Please tell me a great leader who doesn't desire to be questioned. You MUST have someone challenging you to be better. That is just what I think we are all doing on these boards in our own way.

That makes sense. Fumble the first snap, cannot complete a pass to a wide open receiver, and age mean you replace someone who is leading and driving the team like Starz drives his garbage truck. Just think there has to be something else.
