The first one I witnessed up close and personal. They had a GROWN MAN at FB and I was a sophomore. He abused us and the 3 man front we were in.

I like Starkey, I’m pulling for y’all this year, but I do have a feeling the layup lines and full court presses will begin a little sooner for your fellas than ours. Maybe both make it to Chattanooga. Who knows.

If SP plays to their potential without shooting themselves in the foot they shouldn’t have many issues this year. I don’t know that there have been this many athletes spread across the field in a few years and behind them is youthful but strong depth. They have some soph starting up front and they looked strong last night.

Freshman and Sophomore classes are loaded with talent.

Haven’t been on here in a long time. I think the Pirates should make it to Chattanooga if they play to their potential and gel as the season progresses. There is so much talent spread across the field that I don’t see a lot of 1A teams being able to account for them all and Wellington too. There are three sophomores on this team that will be state wide names when the reigns are handed over to them. Sisk Pace and Buckner.

From what I’m seeing steaming the game SP is playing some pirate football. Love to see it!

Fake Dillard, you lost the whole series. Them moral victories mentioned above are good stories, I’m glad they make you feel better… But we talking about football in this thread pal. And in football. You were on the inferior side of the rivalry.

Regardless of enrollment, SP has whipped up on those poor Jasper people for some time now. Check the overall record. Heck I remember one stretch of whippings when they were just happy to beat SP in an elementary spelling bee. It’s over. You lost the last game, you lost the series. Bout the only thing you jailhouse bunch have got SP beat in is cans of paint used in a season and that was dang near 10 years ago.

Still having trouble picking a winner. I think SP traditionally plays a better brand of football, but I also know that we are heavily outmatched in depth of true athletes. I believe This game WILL make this young Pirate team better in the long run.

Tennessee and Jasper are the only teams I know of to lose against this Bye team.

Pirates will be out matched athletically from what I can see and find about AE. I think this may be a good game! I don’t want to make a pick until later in the week, but I always wanna see those pirates pull it off! Either way, this game will be a much more beneficial game than beating up on Prep or any cupcake that SP could possibly see in place of this game.

It would be two small schools with winning traditions I say a few would travel to see it!

The Heisman talk recently has me wondering who the big dogs are this year chasing a Mr. Football trophy in 1A.
