Congrats to the Harpeth Indians as they beat Cheatham tonight by 9. Last loss to Harpeth came in 2011-2012 district finals in old 11aa. #20 for the Indians lead all scorers with 21. Foul trouble and untimely turnovers were costly for the Cubs.

I think everyone is fully aware of how good 10aa is and how dominant that have been in the past. No one had any dillusions in thinking 9aa is gonna win state or the region.

Cheatham is gonna have a rough year. 3 starters lost for significant amount of time. 1 to broke ankle against glencliff, 1 either fractured or broke wrist or arm against Creekwood. Another in concussion protocol which also happened against creekwood. 1 freshman was already out with a knee injury who may have got some playing time. Injuries have hit and hit hard.

Correction 1 td called back

Not making excuses ,but the Cubs did leave about 31 points on the field against East. 2 TDs called back because of penalties, interception in the end zone, fumble inside the 5 and missed a chip shot field goal. Against Hickman I know they had a long td called back as well. No excuses though, you still have to overcome these things.

Cubs were already in the playoffs before last night. Last night was to determine whether or not you got a home playoff game in rd1

Harpeth lineman dominated this game. Particularly #71 and #72 on both sides of the ball. Cheatham lack of size finally caught up with them tonight. Cubs were bruised and battered before game and left with a few more injuries. Rough time to get health issues hopefully they can rest them against East Hick and get ready for playoffs.

The issue isn't that they "take kids", more power to the institution and the families involved if that's the route you choose for your high school career. The issue is that the publics have to compete against them come tournament/playoff time. If you want to recruit than recruit but come playoff time split the teams. There is a big difference between not having a quarterback and dealing with what you got as app0sed to going and getting a quarterback.
