  1. Had heard the QB was back or would be next week for FCS. True?
  2. That would certainly not surprise me but I have little faith in NCS coaching. They win if they have the absolute best talent on the field but not otherwise IMO. NCS or USJ over FCS or DA or vice versa would be no shock. I think all 4 have a legit shot and the only other team with a punchers chance is CA but I cannot see any scenario they win it.
  3. Coach Martin is brilliant. His scheduling has his team ready to go come playoff time year after year. Lions will be a team making yet another deep playoff run this year.
  4. I think USJ is going to be a really tough out on a dry field thru the playoffs. They have to play more physical than they have and finish games in the 4th quarter. DA and NCS both dominated them physically, especially late, and took the W during the regular season. That semi final game at NCS could be a dandy. We are likely to see a DA @ FCS semi on the other side of the bracket but DA has to take care of business in round 2 where they will likely host DCA and that did not go well last time they squared off 2 years ago. Columbia Academy is a real sleeper for me. Would not be surprised to see them knock off FCS in the Quarter's, especially if FCS is still battling some injuries. SEMIS: DA wins @ FCS USJ wins @ NCS CHAMPIONSHIP: USJ beats DA
  5. Not at all sure I agree that FA would be a easy 2 in the East. DCA should not be taken lightly and TKA has had a successful year as well. Time will tell and we will know a lot after this week and round 2 next week.
  6. Does anyone know who LA's Head Coach is?
  7. Pope sits in a very unique spot where they will never have great success IMO. Kids growing up in that area bleed Beech, Hendersonville and Green Wave colors. All they want is to play for one of those schools. Pope sits right in the middle of 3 very successful county schools and thus far have had little success prying talent away from them. I do not expect this to change anytime soon which means Pope will continue to struggle and be middle of the pack at best in DII.
  8. Wouldn't an FA win over DA create a 3 way tie for 2nd? I am uncertain as to what the tie-breakers are but someone led me to believe it would favor DA in that scenario.
  9. I think DA, USJ and Fayette Academy will dominate this side. NCS could make some noise but should finish 4th. Lots of balance at the top IMO. DA lost a lot on Offense but should have their best D yet under Quinn. I think Columbia Academy just lost too much to be a real factor this year.
  10. Just what DII needs; another team setting the table for even more running clock games for the heavyweights in this Division.
  11. Why did you take your last post down? This thread was about to be fun for the next year. Lol.
  12. No shade intended here but am curious as to whether you had seen that DA O before yesterday? Lowe is a great DC and I assume you were just confident in his ability to scheme.
  13. No need for anything but respect from either side. FCS is well coached and did what they felt they had to do to win. Nothing wrong with that. This DA Offense is just way too much and too difficult to defend with a few really special players. DA rolled up 544 yards of Offense and this game could have been much worse. 2 big drops by DA (1 In endzone amd the other a possible TD) and a couple open guys missed kept this one closer than it should have been. Credit to the DA O-Line for doing a tremendous job against that FCS front we have heard so much about. Also huge props to the DA D for stepping up and getting stops. They have taken some ahots this year but stood tall when it mattered most. DA returns a ton of talent and should be a force the next 2 years. FCS is in same shape. Could easily see these 2 in Cookeville again next year.
  14. As I said in an earlier post, this one could be real fun to watch. FCS strength is the OL and DL. They do not appear to have that game breaking back they have had in years past so the O is not as productive as we have seen previously. I do think they have a sneaky pass game that could explode and get a few big plays. What could be key in this game is FCS and their pass D. Their strength could force DA to the air early and often and I'm just not sure that's a game FCS wants to play. DA rarely turns the ball over so I don't think that will play a role in this one. I think this one is a closely played 2 score DA win. Would not be surprised if either team won though. Lots of talent on the field.
  15. Agreed. Talk about polar opposite! FCS held a FA Offense in check that had a lot of success in the loss to DA. On the flip side, FCS only managed a little over 200 yards and 14 points against a team DA put up 62 points and 700 yards on. I have to think field conditions had a affect on both teams last Friday. I think this game could be really fun to watch.
  16. Here we go again with the MS reference. Insignificant nonsense. Has zero bearing on Varsity sports. So many kids quit growing in MS and so many others blossom after entering HS.
  17. CPA has built largely on kids who have been there forever too. They have developed and invested in their own.
  18. Very surprised by this result. BGA much better than what I was thinking. Should be a fun post season in DII AA with some quality representation from the Middle TN teams.
  19. DA is loaded and should cruise to State Title but you never know. They should have gotten to Cookeville last year but fell short and got upset at home by DCA. We will see if the D trips them up or if they make it happen this year. Very unusual to see this much talent on a small private school team. They are fun to watch for sure.
  20. Dumbest statement I have ever read on the T. Everyone entitled to their opinion tho.
  21. I have seen Waverly. I have seen CA. Another matchup this post season will have similar results as last year. CA coaching is far superior and CA is much more physical than Waverly.
  22. Is this a wish or the way you see the game going? I assume you are not a fan of privates? Lol
  23. Lol. Calm down. I owned it immediately after the game. Not sure GCS is back even tho any win is a nice win for them.
  24. Wow! Good win for GCS at FCS on Homecoming. I was way off on what I expected.
  25. Initial thoughts are FCS in a tight game. O looks to be more balanced for FCS this year and that line is fantastic. Could be a fun game to watch. Can DA keep the FCS running game in check and can FCS hold down the running and passing game from DA? What are your thoughts on that potential matchup?
