I was able to catch a few MJ games in Knoxville last weekend and they looked pretty good. They went 4-0 with a big win over Farragut and a come back win over Bearden. SC also represented with a 4-0 weekend in Knoxville.

Coach Cash may have felt the desire to respond but it was not the best decision. Responding on the Internet or social media to a personal attack is not the appropriate response. As a coach and teacher you are representative of the school district and should hold yourself to a higher standard. If I or you publicly responded to an Internet "complaint" about our employer or the decisions of our employer, then there is a high probability that we would be unemployed. This is not any different.

It's really hard to judge VB. 4 weeks ago they were playing as a totally different team. I think you gut says Loretto but you can't count this VB team out. They are playing good ball so we shall see how it shakes out.

Congrats to the VB boys. I was unable to watch the game so I followed it on Twitter. It seemed that they controled the entire game. I heard that the gym was standing room only and very loud. It's a great thing when your community shows that type of support.

UCSportsfan I am amazed at your fetish with private school recruitment. Unlike schools in small towns the city schools in Nashville are not the environment I want for my kids. If I didn't live in Davidson Co then my kids would attend county schools. Myself and most of the parents I know that send their kids to private school did not attend a private school themselves. They choose to send their kids to private school because of the public school environment isn't the same as 20 years ago. I don't know one child that was recruited. I actually encouraged my son to attend a different private school but he wanted to attend Goodpasture. He changed from a boy that faked being sick to miss school to a young man that is always early and wants to attend school functions. The problem isn't private schools but it is public schools. I am not a rich man and I would love to have all that tuition money for other things but that isn't an option at this point. So stop blaming the private schools for taking the public school athletes. Blame the public schools for running off the public school athletes.

Since when is a town a prerequisite for attending a school? Do only students from Gainesboro go to Jackson Co High School? There are some valid arguments against private vs public but using the town that the school is located in isn't one of them.

Clay Co beats Goodpasture in OT 58-55 in a hard fought game. CC came out and punched GP in the mouth taking I believe a 12-2 lead early. CC went into half time with a 2 point lead but GP tied it up to enter the 4th qt. GP had a 6 point lead down the stretch but could not hold on and CC clawed their way back to tie it up & force OT. Congratulations to Clay County in securing the Region 4A Championship.

"When is the last time a player from Madison Tn played for Goodpasture in any sport?" Not that it is relevant but the GP varsity roster is reporting 2 players from Madison, TN.

Goodpasture over Jackson Co 64-61 in OT

So the 2015 Region 5 - 3A teams were announced and it looks challenging to say the least. Christ Presbyterian Academy East Nashville Goodpasture Greenbrier Stratford White House Heritage Whites Creek On another note, I am confused about the other sports. I understand that the decision to play 3a football doesn't affect the other sports. Does that mean the other sports also have an option to play up? If the other sports do play 2A, would they be playing the schools listed under Region 5-2A football?

So GP elected to move to 3a for football. Does that apply for all sports? Also what teams will GP be playing?

I recognize your point but we will have to respectfully disagree. I would rather see the leadership make moves to better the program than continue spewing the company line. All while players and parents are concerned and actively speaking with other schools. Maybe it doesn't change anyone's concerns. But if I had a good 8th grade football player that liked the school but wasn't thrilled about Varsity football then I may reconsider transferring.

I support this move. When you have Junior High and Freshman players considering other options then the leadership has to make a move. In order for Goodpasture to rebuild then they have to keep the players already enrolled at the school. If they can not keep current players then this current situation will keep snowballing.

I was told it was effective immidiately but the interim coach wasn't mentioned.

Toothache - Last time I checked, this is a baseball thread on GP and JCS. I really didn't want to comment but I couldn't resist. Any team that refuses to schedule a district opponent should not have the nerve to comment on that team. Forfeit, a stinking forfeit...... Wow, I can't believe a team would forfeit. I got to admit that i was hoping to hang a 20 spot on TC in the district tournament but that is tough to do with 4 innings to hit and also let the subs bat. I can't blame you, I would want to talk Football if I was you.

Should be a great game tonight. I am looking forward to playing Boyd. I think it will be another close one. Their is no doubt that JCS is sitting in the drivers seat but anything can happen.

When you stated that it feels like we are playing a exhibition game before the real men play, that implies no respect. I have already became follower of Boyd, specifically because of the Boyd topic. My point was that Boyd is considered and has been a contender in my eyes. I do consider it unfortunate that GP and JC have to meet in game 1 but I was also not pleased to see Boyd and Forrest in this bracket.

Trust me when I say that Goodpasture has not engraved or assumed anything. GP just got by a dogfight with So. Pitt and GP is fully aware of the competition moving forward. As for Boyd not receiving any respect, I think that is unfounded. Boyd has been in every conversation I have seen in this forum. For that matter apparently Boyd is so good that they have their own forum topic with tons of posts and accolades. I don't recall a forum topic specifically for GP. If I would have posted my top 4 before the post season started; in no specific order I would have included Summertown, Boyd, Jackson Christian, & Goodpasture.

Section III E of the 2013-14 Baseball Regulations The eight winners of the sectional shall advance to the central tournament site. The tournament will consist of two pools of four teams that will play a double elimination tournament within each pool. The winner of each pool will then play a single game for the state championship. The draw shall be made so that if two teams from the same region reach the central tournament site, they will be drawn to opposite brackets. The draw shall be made by the Board of Control.
