  1. you seem to have the attitude that as long as an example is set for others, it's ok. so why not give 20 years for speeding? i obviously don't know anything, but i'm pretty sure that tssaa is too harsh on teams that make small, honest mistakes. like you jatoree, they have no common sense or grasp of what a fair punishment is. instead of trying to ruin a team's season, tssaa should actually hear their case and evaluate it. yes tullahoma and riverdale both messed up. yes they should have been punished for breaking rules, but the fact is that they did the honorable thing and reported themselves as soon as they found out. now riverdale got royally screwed last year and there is nothing anybody can do about that, but at some point the power happy people at tssaa need to start realizing that a small mistake doesn't deserve harsh punishments like these, especially when the teams report themselves instead of trying to cover it up.
  2. so if you're ever pulled over for speeding, it's fine if they put you in prison for 20 years? as long as it sets an example for others right?
  3. Umm...ya so I completely misread the last couple posts. I'm an idiot. Liverpool, sorry about that and good luck with the rest of your season.
  4. They played 4 games in 3 days. It doesn't matter how many times you do that in club tournaments, it still kills you everytime. And yes, their coach did make some excuses. So?!? All that means is that he is just like the rest of us. Almost everyone on this site makes up excuses when they lose, and they usually don't have a point as valid as 4 games in 3 days against top teams. Most of the time it's the refs or the weather or injuries. Bottom line is that Farragut is still a good team that can beat most teams in the state.
  5. their schedule last year was a joke too, but when they were put up against the best teams, they stepped up and performed. now you are the most ignorant person i have ever met in my life if you dont think that the loss of daniel kelly is a big deal. in the finals, he was either scoring or involved in setting it up. if hendersonville is playing well as a team, then the TEAM should get it done. you saying that bolt and patrick kelly will get it done tells me that they rely too much on them. if both teams play their games, brentwoods TEAM will get it done.
  6. brentwood also has the same record as last year and look how well they did :justwrestle: . bruinsoccer, i havent figured out if youre name is because of brentwood or a different school, you confuse me. regardless, the only things said about the best offensive team was someone talking about last years hendersonville team, not this years brentwood team. i went to the overton game on friday and lowder did play a lot, but it was to get his conditioning up and he was playing sweeper for most of the last half.
  7. yes, we are all well aware of the idea that brentwood is full of classless, horrible players that run up the score. does anyone have anything to say that hasn't been beaten to death...possibly about the game on thurs?
  8. hendersonville beat them last year without daniel kelly. bolt is a good forward and they had some left footed mid last year that could take some real nice shots. but im gonna go with brentwood winning it
  9. i'm not trying to toot my own horn here, but i was a pretty decent defender back in my prime if i had defended ronaldhino even on my best day, i would have broken my ankles/torn some ligaments/or just started to cry and walk off the field. despite this, most of you seem to forget that he is human, even with his "ginga". he can't defend everyone on the other team and he can't get away from the mob that will chase him around the whole game. it will be hard enough for him to get the ball but when he does he would get hacked and have it poked away. obviously he will do great things and score some goals, but the other team will score when they want. in the end, they will have more points than the bad team with ronaldhino.
  10. i seriously doubt he ran a legit 4.25? was it someone sitting there with a stop watch or what they use in track? it might help to know that reggie bush, the greatest player going into the nfl draft, ran a 4.33 about a week ago.
  11. so while he's running down the field, who's gonna pass him the ball? i can guarantee that the worst players in the state can't give a leading pass to someone with half the speed of ronaldhino. it'll be nice to watch him sprint around without a ball though. he would have to do everything on this team...absolutely everything. it is NOT possible. from the kickoff he is gonna have 6 people making a circle around him and following him around the field every second of the game. it's obvious nobody is gonna be able to convince the opposite side which is a shame cuz anybody that doesn't agree with me is wrong
  12. why do franklin players keep agreeing they will lose? is it so then if they do it's expected and if they don't it's a brilliant upset?
  13. thank you! somebody else that thinks 1 vs 11 isn't gonna work
  14. I do think that while he is undoubtedly the greatest player in the world, he doesn't have superhuman abilities. Close, but not completely. He can play a full 90 mins now, but can he do that while doing nothing but sprinting and making every single play? He may be able to, but I doubt it. Yes he can make 2 or 3 pros look stupid, but can he make the 8 people that are covering him look stupid? If he tries to dribble, there's not enough room to pull any moves. I can see him getting through 5 of them, but that's just too many people in too little space. Here's an example of what would happen: Ronaldinho is trying to dribble through the other team. Someone pokes it away since there are 8 people coming from every possible angle. A player clears the ball up to a forward around midfield. The forward dribbles around the whole defense because they are horrible and he scores. This continues time after time. The final score is going to be 15+ to 8 (Ronaldinho losing). I would gladly put the best team in the state against the worst team with Ronaldhino. We will just have to wait until he's free.
  15. ok, ronaldhino is the best in world. he scores multiple times in games against professional teams. this is all good, but he also has people that help him out in those professional games. sure he can score, but that's because someone made a good pass to him. he has room to dribble because the other team has to cover his teammates. if you realize how horrible the worst team in the state is, you would also realize that they won't be able to 1) pass him the ball 2) cover the opposing team 3) stop the other team from scoring every time 4) DO ANYTHING. each play would be 1 vs 10. i'm sorry, but i'm probly the only person skilled enough to win with those odds
  16. thanks. i was just wondering cuz i didn't know anything about them.
  17. according to other posts, west tn doesn't have much to offer other than christian brothers. i haven't heard anything about the AAA teams out there. so has houston actually been a good team the past few years, or have they been in a weak region and basically given a trip to state every year?
  18. i want you to know that i completely agree with your observation of these teams playing weak schedules. i personally enjoyed playing the tougher teams because of the challenge, but what exactly is the problem with playing a weak schedule? it doesn't prepare you for state? in my opinion, who you're playing is not as important as how you're playing, or practicing even. in the end, it comes down to your team either having the talent to compete or not. if you don't have the talent to be at state, then it doesn't matter how many top teams you play. for the sake of arguing, it could be that by playing a weak schedule these teams have an advantage at state because they aren't as tired and beat up as the rest. once again i agree and support playing harder teams, but i will counter every argument you have because there are always two sides to a story. maybe we can get a big debate going where everyone gets angry and says hurtful things until they realize they won't change anybody's mind so they just stop talking
  19. apparently playing a weak schedule gets you a state championship
  20. what does everyone have against jv teams? i seriously doubt that all of you were so amazing that you skipped jv and went straight to starting on your varsity teams. who is the best jv team is a legit question because in two years most of them will make up the varsity team therefore, the jv teams that are successful now will likely be successful when they are juniors and seniors on varsity. so my completely biased opinion is brentwood cuz i went there and they have been doing well on the jv level for the last couple years.

    Freddy Adu

im gonna have to disagree with your kelly and adu comparison. kelly is an amazing player, but he is not as good as adu. also i understand how anyone could be skeptical about adu's age based on his talent, but how does someone that is 5'8 150 make people think he is older based on his appearance? i know we have all seen plenty of 16 yr olds that are a lot bigger than that.
  22. well i was waiting for someone else to mention him, but i guess not. purcell from brentwood is in his 4th year and has made it to state twice and won it once (boys). i know the girls at least made it to state in one or two of those years also. so far hes doing pretty decent

    Mercy Rule

alright there are some teams out there that run up the score on weaker teams. is it wrong or should you always play your best no matter what? should you toy around with em until they get mad and lay out your star forward? why doesn't TSSAA have a mercy rule? most importantly, why is Chuck Norris so much tougher than everyone else?!? And.........................go
  24. dont attack the pope, he was just correcting me. i know the mba-hendersonville game was only a scrimmage, but i just liked the idea of mba beating ryan 5-0 after all of ROBs talking. its a shame what hes done for ryans reputation. i mean i personally wouldnt like them even if he never said anything, but i could have respected them. hes slowly taking that respect away from a team that deserves it because theyve been very good year in and year out. i hope its a random student at ryan or another school, but someone associated with ryan needs to spy on every player (and maybe coaches) and see who is on the comp when the posts come up
