SP recruiting? MC recruiting? With what to offer? There aren't any jobs to be given away here or big money for that fact. What we do have around here are some pretty good football players. Trust me I hate the Pirates but they don't recruit. It seems we swap a player or two every now and then but it's a small area.

Those maps are confusing. Where is south pitt and boyd buchanan in the quads?

CCS is definitely an improved team but not sure they are improved enough to make this one a game, but anybody can be beat on any given night though. Much like a lot of people I am looking forward to the sp game but it's bittersweet in a way. Where has this season gone? Hard to believe it's the 9th game of the year this week.

Oneida is a team we have also been keeping an eye on in Marion. I would like to play Oneida because I love playing teams you've not played before (not meaning that as trash talk). I for one hope it isn't a TC vs Oneida semi. I'm kinda hoping we can get in that conversation. Hopefully we can win our last 2 and keep our fingers crossed for that #1 seed so we don't have to travel. Good luck to both you guys the rest of the way (unless you draw us...lol)

Tssaa is a crooked organization. Always has been. I would love to see schools break off from them. My son played little league in Jasper last year and always got into home games free if he had his jersey on. Come playoff time no free pass due to Tssaa rules. What a joke!

This is actually a good game for MC to play this close to playoffs. It's good to see a passing attack in case you run into it in the playoffs. Passing defense isn't as good as the run but tons better than years past. CCS will need to run quick routes because the rush will get to the qb.

Hopefully MC won't be looking ahead to sp. With CCS passing they will probably score a few TDS but will lose by maybe 4 TDs. Coming off the Signal game they may be a little beat up too.

This is hilarious. Why is it when teams get reminded how horrible they are its always "I wish MC played so and so..." You guys schedule about the same non district teams we do. It's not like you are playing ND and Signal because you want too it's because you have to play the teams in your district. Coach Ross has already said he wants to schedule up even if it means losing 2 or 3 games a season. That's what helps in playoffs. We have been put out in the qtrs the last 2 years to the eventual state champion. If we get put out before Cookeville this year it will be to the team that wins it all again.

I agree with the Alcoa thing. It's funny how you can look back at teams that are dominant now and they were average teams years ago. Alcoa is stout.

I watched the Union City title game last year and they were a very strong team and look to be on track for another title shot this year. But to say they would dominate is a little hard for me. They have 2 titles and a couple more runner ups as well but there are quite a few very mediocre years mixed in with those. I'm not knocking them but I don't get the dominance thing. Looking at their roster I feel they will have one of those lackluster years next year. Just my opinion.

Die hard MC fan but I'm not as optimistic as most. I would love to see them in Cookeville but I have my doubts. If we can pull the #1 seed and keep home field advantage maybe. Trinity Christian is the team to beat in 2A. I saw the Union City game last year. They are stout. Just glad they are 1A lol.

Marion County vs south pittsburg. When you leave sp stadium after losing a close game and your 8 yr old son says "dad I wish we could drop a nuclear bomb on this place" That's a heated rivalry.

Central is a decent team. They aren't world beaters but 4-2 as a 4A team isn't bad. A questionable fumble returned for a TD is the difference. We doubled them up in yardage and held them to 4 first downs but in the end it's all about the scoreboard. It's only a few weeks away and I can't wait. If sp gave up over 300 yds rushing to sequatchie we may rush for 800 yds.

Yes they do talk about us sp games. I was standing on the sidelines at the Bell Co game and as they were getting hammered there were a few pirate fans mouthing that it didn't matter about that game "they would still hammer Jasper." So don't say you guys don't talk about us because you see it coming. I even know a couple sp players and they know it's coming too. It's going to look like Michael Myers left sp when we pull out on Halloween. Hide your kids!

It's very interesting. Not sure sp watching it will help. They just don't have the athletes.

I've only seen sp play twice. Bell County which was a pretty good team and whitwell. Unless they have done something different in other games I don't see them playing with MC.
