  1. Here we go boys!!! Big game with rival Huntland. Bring the physical play and hold Taylor in check!
  2. This should be a good game to watch. I've seen both play...too close for me to make a prediction!
  3. Haven't seen DJ play this year. He was really good last year. If he is better, which he probably is I know he has a good chance to win. #22 for Fayetteville tore up my Raiders last week. Rushing, receiving, and defense. I know they are two different backs and both are good, but either back has a chance. Good luck to DJ rest of the year though
  4. It's Friday...this week has crept by and we don't even have 2 pages dedicated to this rivalry?!?!?! Varo what is this world going to? Hope we see a barn burner!
  5. I hear the train a comin'. It's rollin' 'round the bend. I hear the upset comin'!!!! Should be a great game. I have seen two straight weeks of good games and wish this week would go faster so we can enjoy a good ole fashion high school football rivalry! Best of luck Varo
  6. Not talking smack. I'm probably the most unbiased blogger on CoachT. I try to honestly tell how it is. If my team isn't good I say that. I honestly feel that Fayetteville is WAY TOO inconsistent to be at the top of this region. As long as CA is in this region they will probably own the top spot. From 2 spot down it can change weekly. From past seasons Fayetteville plays down to teams that shouldn't be on the field with them. No way next week is a blow out. We may lose, but I feel that we will hang and make it interesting. Win or lose I will always give credit where credit is due. I did that when FHS beat FRA. However, I'm just stating the obvious when I say they have played down to competition since that game. Sorry.....just being honest!!! Good luck tomorrow and we'll see you next week
  7. We'll be ready! Down year this season, but playing tough. Our boys have a don't quit attitude! Love our coaching staff! Keep it up guys, you're going to knock off a couple of teams the next couple of weeks!
  8. I agree, but still have a 4-1 record? They must play down to certain teams and up to others. I have never seen a team that plays up against a team like FRA, then turns around and plays down to Huntland and Mt Pleasant. Those are respectable teams, but shouldn't have the athletes to compete year in and year out with Fayetteville. My Raiders are ready to pounce now that the qb quit though!!!
  9. Yes Fayetteville is very hard to read. Beat FRA 21-3 then struggle with Huntland and Richland? Fayetteville has been hyped way too high! They may do good to finish 4th in the region. CA and Summertown will both beat them. IMO if they lose both of those my Blue Raiders or Cornersville will pick them off. Huntland still has a shot to finish 3rd in the region, but 1 and 2 are locked up by CA and Summertown. The rest will just have to play it out
  10. Fayetteville is very confusing!!! CA is not a team to start slow on! Beat FRA 21-3...then struggle with Richland? I'm calling CA by 21 (maybe more). Summertown will beat my Blue Raiders this week..................then we are going to pick off Fayetteville in Lynchburg next week!!!
  11. Is that what happened vs Richland? Didn't go to the game, but it sounded close?
  12. I traveled to Summertown to watch the matchup between Stown and CA last week. Very good game to attend. They will be 1-2 in region. I also think my Blue Raiders will be able to move the ball a little vs Stown. I am very worried that the Eagles will pass all over us. Good QB, and #6 is legit on defense!!!
  13. Well, I traveled to this game and came away very impressed with Summertown. From my stand point it looked as if CA didn't play their "A" game, but I believe Summertown may be as good as advertised. From the sounds of the Fayetteville/Richland game I'm not sure this will be a very good matchup next week. I thought Fayetteville might have what it takes to defeat CA, but now I'm calling for a major blowout!!! CA finishes 1st in the region...Summertown finishes 2nd...either Huntland or my Blue Raiders 3/4. CA and Summertown will destroy Fayetteville.
  14. Hope the popcorn machines are fired up and ready to go!!! Football24 took this and ran
  15. Who cares until is has been officially stated by the TSSAA. Lets focus on this season. Who thinks CA vs Summertown could decide first and second in region?
  16. This is talk for after season...lets remain in 2016 football and talk CA vs Summertown. HUGE game and could decide who gets first or second in the region!!!
  17. CA team is probably better all round that last years team. I was thinking Fayetteville MIGHT have a shot at knocking CA off this year, but after they lost to Cascade = ZERO SHOT!!!!!!!! CA run game is much better than last year....I don't see any region team being able to shut them down. Summertown is having a good season and so is Fayetteville. It will be interesting to see how long Summertown can hang with CA. Can they even last a quarter? Maybe half? Fayetteville on the other hand seems to struggle with the run. They may get a couple of big plays, but will never stop the run. I talked to someone that went to the FRA game and he told me that FRA overlooked Fayetteville. He said if they played again it would probably be 50-0 because Fayetteville is going backwards and got lucky. Good luck to both teams as they face CA...I will be watching CA the next couple of weeks should be decent games. Maybe if they are over at halftime like I think I can travel quickly to catch the last half of my Blue Raiders!!!
  18. Good looking stats...Only question is can they continue on this pace all season against all opponents? Not sure, besides Huntland what the other teams have in regards to records or athletes? Only thing I know about Huntland this year is they are completely 1 dimensional (DJ Taylor) and have ZERO pass defense!
  19. I have watched FHS from a distance the last couple of years. Very intrigued at times because of the numerous athletes they have. I'm not sure it was an easy road to 3-0?!?!?! FRA and Huntland are pretty good opponents who have played some good competition. Cascade may be down, but they will give a good fight and unless the Tigers come ready to play they may sneak up and get a victory. I try to give credit where credit is due. The FHS Tigers look for real as of now and I'll keep that thought process until someone knocks them off. I enjoy watching good competition and hopefully tonight won't disappoint. Please keep the updates coming because I will be at the Moore/Cornersville game.
  20. I have been a Blue Raider fan for a few years now. I have seen Moore Co. practice and play this year on several occasions. They are down this year and this has nothing to do with the current staff. They may be down again next year, but they will improve. What I can say is for once I love what I'm seeing in regards to the staff with the middle and high school. In the next couple of years there will be much improved teams from Moore Co. I will say this will only happen if the current head coach stays and doesn't try to jump ship to bigger and better. C.A. is on a different playing field than most teams. I will say from what I'm hearing that C.A. and Fayetteville will most likely be 1-2 respectively in this region. Hopefully our Blue Raiders can come out injury free and pull together a chance to be in the top 4-5 of the region. Good luck Blue Raiders and keep working hard.
  21. I think Cornersville will shock some people this year. I can't wait to see what the new coach at Moore has in store, hearing nothing but good things. I might get to stay in Lynchburg to enjoy some good competitive football this year. Fayetteville is fast and athletic. I thought they only graduated 1 OL but maybe I'm wrong. Grace should be improved. Same for Summertown. Columbia Academy will just reload in my opinion. You never know from year to year. Mt. Pleasant could be a shock but I still think they're a year away. Huntland is the only question mark for me. Big athletic RB but don't know or remember anyone else who returns or sticks out.
  22. We have given you two chances in the playoffs. LMBO. We aren't great by any means and have a long ways to go to get back to the way it use to be. You don't want another rematch because it will end in mercy again. I'm not a Fayetteville fan. I was just reporting facts of watching a good 7 on 7. Not many times a year there is that much talent competing in one place.
  23. Btw in the 7 on 7 we only lost to expected West team to be in the State game Wayne Co by a 2 pt conversion. We beat Fayetteville pretty badly, then beat Summit (I think is a 5A school?) What drug have you been on. You lost to Summit in a pretty close game. But never in a million years did you beat Fayetteville "pretty badly"!!! I could be wrong but my count was each team scored 3 times each and Fayetteville scored a cheap one at the end possibly vs some backups. Only thing I was confused on all day was why South Pitt players wouldn't go across field and shake Fayetteville players hands. Would love to see a playoff rematch this year. Maybe some bad blood brewing! i thought this was an awesome event to show several competitive teams. I hope this is an annual event. Maybe even add a couple of teams next year. Hopefully the coaches would agree. Fayetteville and South Pitt had an OL challenge but I never got to see how that went. Maybe somebody can fill us in. Not sure why the other two teams weren't involved with that part though.
  24. Well tide, I can tell you that my team played Fayetteville a couple of weeks back. They play very well and strong for a team with only 22 players for 4 full quarters. They do honestly seem to get a little stronger as the game goes on. From an objective side Fayetteville breaks down like this.... Offensively they thrive on the big play. They do have the capability to put some good drives together and move the ball, but they aren't the team that will do it consistently all game long. They do start slow, VERY slow. They have several play makers at various positions that are truly capable of being game breakers. They have more than enough speed to keep up with any team in the state, but with that said they rely on that speed too much! Defensively it seems to me their philosophy is bend but don't break. Against some teams I think that may be a good philosophy, but against SP they may not be the best scenario. I traveled to watch Fayetteville play Columbia Academy and they were extremely ready and fired up to play that game. I didn't give them a chance and they exceeded my expectations. The Tiger defense is hard to throw the ball on because they have an extremely talented secondary! Unfortunately their run defense is suspect and they give up a ton of yards on the ground. If they come with the same intensity they played with vs C.A. they will potentially continue playing into the 3rd round. Special Teams may be the only advantage Fayetteville has. Their kicker can boot it from long distances, but not great accuracy (don't test him). Their return team is DANGEROUS so be advised....don't kick to them!!! I've always heard special teams wins ball games (ask Michigan!!!!) I can't rightfully say anything positive/negative about South Pitt. I can only talk SP from past years or from things I have read on coacht. So for that matter I am only giving my objective view of Fayetteville. I will be there early for this game (because my team has already turned in their pads). I have never been to SP before, but I hear the atmosphere is great. He is my prediction...SP jumps out to a quick lead 21-7 by half. Fayetteville will close the gap and make it close in the end because of their ability to play 4 FULL quarters. SP wins in a tight game in the end, but not without a tough, tough fight to the end!!! The only thing that may change my prediction is that Fayetteville is not accustomed to the playoffs at this level and against tough teams. Because of this SP may win in a blowout! Good luck...can't wait to enjoy my
