I thought Riverdale would have made it hard on Soddy, but they won't get the chance so as far as talent goes Soddy may have it wrapped up.

Goodpasture player for player is the best in the state without question. Chattanooga aint the only place that competitive softball is played. Soddy is picked number one every year and yes they are a great team. I'm well aware that they are able to win state. Last year they were picked to win. In 2002 they were picked to win and didn't even make it to the championship. you are right when you are on top you will have a target. So when and if you ever make it to the top (not the self proclaimed top) everyone will be gunning for you.

Goodpasture beat Soddy three to two in the Cookeville tournament earlier this year and they went on to be co-champions, but i would have went with the head-to-head and given it to Goodpasture. I don't think the state tourney will be quite the cake walk the Soddy fans think it will be. Riverdale will put up a fight.

Elrod will get a shot to stick it to the SEC because the Govs play the vols in the regular season. well they did this past year.

Any time you pick a team like this and give out awards no matter what organization is doing the picking or award giving, there will always be some people "who should have or should not have" been on the team. Sometimes it is legitimate and sometimes it is a case of my daughter is better than yours. If they even went purely off stats or if they took everything into consideration the same things would be said. I don't know any of the girls that made the team personally but congratulations to you all.

Elrod signed with Austin Peay i believe. Rossview ought to beat Mcgavock pretty easy. I hope that they represent 10-AAA well in the state tourney.

If Marshall County comes out swinging like they did against Creek Wood then they should win Friday and do very well in the state. I have seen both teams play.

I had never heard of or seen her before, but i watched her warm up and take show and i watched her play the game. I know and hear about the wamsleys and the catchers from the powerhouses but when a girl from a no-name school takes the field and turns heads without a hyped up reputation to preceed her, to me that says a lot. I am not the only one who made that comment about her. I don't think Creek Wood, even though we won, even tested her. Her arm (seriously not exagerrating) would make a lot of baseball catchers jealous. She throws gas. If she is a junior i will make sure and keep up with her next year and if she is a senior and a college coach reads this they need to check her out.

I doubt anyone has more than 15 jacks. Whoever that girl is that hit that many needs to be signed that is a serious accomplishment. Congrats to her. What was her batting average? And, do you happen to know how many ribbies she had?

Are you Kidding me? That girl threw harder than most baseball team's cathcers. I don't think anyone stole on her or even tried. That catcher is a stud and i have never even heard of her. Anyone can go out there with a name that everyone knows and be good but if you go somewhere and no one knows your name and you start turning heads i think that says a lot more. Just because she don't go to some powerhouse school doesn't mean she isn't an awesome catcher. This isn't college she has to go where she is zoned.

Loretto has an awesome cacher,quick out of the box,accurate shotgun arm,blocks and hits well.She is the hidden jewel in that area.

If a team is more talented than another team then it won't matter what they know. The better team will win period. Knight is a good pitcher and if he works ahead in the count it will be tough to beat Sycamore. Sycamore has a good team but don't think for a second that the Loretto coach is relying on this board for his scouting report. I am sure he already knew who he would be facing and he already knew who your number one was.

Their big dawg all season was Knight. He is the one Sycamore went to during their district games. He is a lefty with an average fastball but he keeps batters off balance pretty well. His curveball is kind of flat with a break that moves more across the zone than it does up and down. Run his pitch count up early. He is a good pitcher and will be very successful if you let him get ahead in the count. Be selective but also very aggressive through the zone. Be careful about who gives you the information about Sycamore's ace. I know for certain that Knight was their ace all year long. Loretto will be facing Knight. Then he will have enough rest if they win Monday then he will turn around and pitch again Friday. HLfan has even posted that you will face knight on another board.

I am sure he is a great coach but the award is not always given based on a win/loss record.

That is a very long haul for just a region game. Who put them in our region? They must have never thought the gas prices would be like they are today

The CW Sycamore game is over but just so everyone knows, bad throws happen in baseball. MC's dugouts are open and right in line with 1st base. I am sure that wasn't the first throw to enter that dugout and probably won't be the last. They weren't going to walk Bullard. But, they weren't gonna give him anything fat. If they had planned on walking him save the pitches and put him on. Why rack pitches on your starter's arm if you intend on walking him anyway. As far as the back-to-back homeruns, the second one would have never happened if Cw was gonna throw at a kid on purpose because Bullard hit the first dinger and stared down the pitcher the whole time down the third base line. The next batter who hit the homerun would have been the one getting an ear hole plugged if they were gonna throw at a kid on purpose. A pitcher doesn't have to be real wild to miss an inside spot and hit a guy. It would be no different than missing a spot on the outside down the middle. You get late in a game things happen. Sycamore played a great game and CW battled until the end. The only black eye of the game was the stare down in my book.
