I don't think the moderators are able to check every single post. If you don't like a post report it. There is a button to do so. I don't think the moderators will lock a board for someone's opinion unless there is name calling or other very personal remarks. I have always heard that the Waverly coach is a good coach, but as we all know my opinion isn't always popular. I have made the same mistake before and i will have to say some opinions are just better when they aren't posted on a public forum. I don't want this board locked because i like to read what everyone has posted when it comes to games and how everyone is gonna beat everyone. Coaches can't please everyone and usually get their teams in trouble when they try to. That is part of it. Every coach in America has their critics. It comes with the job. Thanks ERA, We here in Dickson appreciate the thoughts as i am very sure ashley does. It stinks for an injury to take you out of your senior season. I have a few words for anyone on the Dickson team who reads this post. You girls have the talent to carry on. You girls are a great group of girls capable of doing just as well. I have talked to a couple of them and they are all saddened by this. they are saddened to lose a friend and a team leader and saddened because they aren't as confident. Head up Dickson. There is a heavier burden but i know you girls can group together and pick it up. You just have to know you can.

The tourney gets kicked off tomorrow good luck to all teams. There will be a lot of good games. This is a big tounrament i hope all the girls get pumped and playe their hearts out. Teams that are traveling be careful. Good Luck to everyone.

Someone called in the CW/MC score as 13-0 MC but they got it wrong. CW beat MC 13-0 whichs puts them 8-0 in the district. How is everyone else looking?

If the catcher (or anyone at any base) has the ball then the runner has to do one of three things 1) slide 2) give themselves up (which maybe nothing more than just running through the tag but not after the defender) 3) or try and go around the defender (which is out of baseline). TSSAA rules say that malicious contact is imediate ejection for the aggressor.

Yep there will be a lot of talent sitting at home this year when they are better than some of the other teams that made it to the state out of a weaker district/region/sectional.

I don't think there should be a tournament restriction. I really do believe that to some girls softball is their life and playing 8 games a day is a dream come true. I do understand that this isn't the case for 85% of the girls. People know when they sign up for these tournaments what they are getting into. you show up early to fit in your last pool play and then if you win out you might play 6-7 games. A word of caution to coaches and parents: The harder you push them the more they hate the game and the harder you take it on them the less they like you (coaches) and the less they want their parents there watching. They have to play for the God given love of the game. I have been around the travel scene for a while now and while i have heard the girls say they are tired, they also have a blast. I'm telling you that it takes a special breed to meet the demands of a fast pitch tournament. This opinion is coming from a person whose whole life has and will revolve around God, family, and sports. There is nothing better than a team prayer praying for safety and praising a God who gave you the ability to play, your family in the stands cheering for you, and a 7 inning game on a dirty diamond and a fresh cut yard whether is be baseball (my personal favorite) or softball ( a close second).

I think that Riverdale and Goodpasture might give them a run for their money. They are all three good teams and will not be able to make any mistakes when they play each other.

The post season is closing in fast. The AAA state tourney will be a heck of a tournament this year. There will be a lot of great games. Rossview has a good team and i will agree with you Bleacherbum they will have to post some runs when they run into Wilson Central, Mt Juliet, Hendersonville, and last but not least Beech. That is just in their region. Then you have teams like Riverdale and other prime timers. Like i said AAA is a very competitive class.

You are exactly right Bleacherbum. Dickson losing Ashley is a huge hit to their team. Don't get me wrong there is still a lot of talent but they will have to step their game up. Dickson will have to learn to manufacture runs because they can't live off of one or two runs anymore. Rossview looked well in the tournament but i am not sure who they schedule outside of the district.

Those first two pools will produce a lot of good games. I hate it because i know few of them will be cut off by time limit after the 20th inning. Good Luck to every team and e safe on your travels. Head up Dickson Co. you are still a great team.

The poll was just in the tennessean it wasn't the coaches association or anything. I don't think i can remember all of the teams but i will try. Rossview chester county dickson county creek wood collin wood gibbs county crestview (team from florida) trinity christian waverly sycamore harpeth mckenzie antioch bruceton there may have been one or two more but that is all i can remember from the top of my head.

The new mid-state rankings are out this week and Rossview has moved on top of Dickson with the loss of Ashley Myatt. Both teams are representing the 9 and 10 spots though. No respect for 10-AAA

I was a great tournament. Rossview played really well. Congrats to the Rossview team for their win. Ashley is upset that she can't play for the rest of the season but other than that she is fine according to her dad.

I didn't remember any errors because i had looked at the book. the only thing i saw was a catchers interference call because i made the comment that it was a pretty clean game. Condor once i realized it wasn't you then i took the post off but you know that you called me up about a month ago talking to me about my opinion of a coaching style that has since been water under the bridge. Maybe you should have read the board before you go on here and just let loose. Everyone is over those comments made before regular season. Quit whining about the negativity. The only people who are negative on here are the ones who take shots at me and then i defend the posts. About the exposing part you are far too late for that. As far as being an assistant, I am non-faculty and i am finishing up a degree besides that i have been a head coach for all but one of the teams i said i coached. I will be in a head position one day. That takes time and I am young. I have stated my credentials on here let's here some of yours. Do you even have a college back ground at all? Where all have you coached? How is your record? Really don't get on here and blast someone when they probably know more than you about the game don't be jealous and take cheap shots. As far as saying i don't know about the game but i talk a good game, I would not be able to talk about it and make sense if I didn't know about the game. it is one thing if i was getting on here saying i throw 90 ( that would be boasting and i never threw that hard by the way). then that would be saying something i couldn't do or back-up. Why don't you stick to bashing coach reed on the basketball board and wondering how good clarksville teams will be in football. If you are only looking for my posts it seems that you might have some issues. Why else would you post on a board you dont even care about?

The ump told both coaches to control their fans. Neither coach brought it up until after the umpire had already said something to them. And i believe there was an apology made for the fan telling our pitcher to hit him in the head. CW coaches have enough class no to throw at a kid's grape. It sounds like they were hard fought games and that Sycamore has a good team. Congrats Sycamore can't wait til post season.

Man it sounds like i missed a great series. I wish that i could have seen it, but we were fighting for wins on another field. I personally know all the CW coaches and i will have to say that i think they have too much class to throw at a guy's grape. Fans should support their team and be loud if they want to; however, they should keep in the limits of good sportmanship. Congrats Sycamore can't wait til the post season. As long as the teams themselves keep the game clean that should be all that matters. Bounce back CW you guys are a great team capable of great things. Head up. I'm out

Well it isn't necessarily the same concept.Shelbyville might be the better team as far as talent goes and may have played just bad enough that CC could come out on top but since Shelbyville is the better talented team they didn't allow CC to beat them by more than one run. I still believe that the call didn't lose the game but like was stated earlier we could spar back and forth all day. I believe that a ground ball or a pop-up could have gotten you guys out of the game. Or, at least keeping the girl from scoring from second and playing extra innings.
