Dekalb not surprising me, I knew they would be good this year. I guess I dranked the York cool -aid and predicted York 3rd and Dekalb 4th pre-season. Anything can happen though season is young. Good luck!

Ok let's assume you have a son and he plays football,u have said you lived in Cookeville. Why would you have not sent your son to Upperman? Social status? Upperman football tradition not great but better than Cookeville, correct? Upperman better chance to advance deeper in playoffs in 3a vs 6 a. Ok now you move to Knoxville, you have a son who plays football,what school gives your son the best chance to win a state championship? Anybody ? Ok I will give "Alcoa". Of course so you move to Alcoa to enroll your son. See perception in Cookeville is Baxter is not worthy and good enough so we can't get those open enrollments. Alcoa could win state championships not every year but regularly with local talent but Rankin has taken it to another level and it's everyear with people wanting to play there. If I had a son and he played foot ball and I lived in Knoxville and I had the means to make it happen of course I would do it. It's just a loop hole in the system and people just address the issues ,good luck safe travels and Go Bees!

When Rankin was at Riverdale he recruited all of Murfreesboro open zone ,then when all the other schools came, the city strict zoned it so the program started slipping. He left for Alcoa which in 80's 90's was legit kids from that zone . Then when Rankin arrives he builds on the same model as Old Riverdale and players come from surrounding areas of a much bigger demographic area than Putnam County. Now to be equal ,Upperman would have to get bout 5 from Cookeville, 2 /3 from Monterey then Upperman still would not have the same depth, Upperman would have to recruit the entire Upper Cumberland to compete, People just don't understand the depth of the Alcoa football program. Truely David vs Goliath. Go Bees!

Bees are talented ,the qb is very good, talented kid and receivers are talented, but we all know Alcoa is equal or better at every position as well (and more depth), but hopefully Uhs has enough heart, disclipline and luck to play the best they possibly can and see what happens. Go Bees!

I agree Upperman will have to play flawless, the best game they can play and Alcoa an average game. Go Bees!

Players 1-5 will win you many ball games, players #6,#7,#8. Etc.. will win you championships. High school coaches get scared and won't develope thier benches, seen it for years and seen it cost them at the end too many times.

Very competitive, hard to analyze .I guess Stone is favorite? I say this district is up for grabs.

Imagine this Tennessee Tech wants to get back to the Bill Worrell days sign Hurst,Gregory ,and Johnson right now . And go get a few big girls and Rosamond will be back at the top of the Ovc. It's right here in your back yrd.

Gregory may be destined to be a better college player or better next year, I 'll agree to that.. Carter game as of now may not translate to the next level like Gregorys will,but Carter at this time is a better "high school" player. Take Carter off Macon they are battling for 3rd and 4th. Take Gregory off they still have chance to win the district.

Just callin you out on your biased opinion is all. Take the top 8aa 10 kids put them in a gym in a practice with all the coaches and I would bet there would be different opinions on 2nd thru 5. Athleticism, endurance speed, quickness ,body type etc. One thing for sure her name is Keeley and she is the best player at this time ,in this district. Just wanted you to know her first name since only Tenn Rush players get the first and last promotional name honor treatment . I get it! Confused or not..

#1Macon no doubt ,the hunted. #2 Upperman will be better than most think. #3 York good but the two teams above have just as good tallent and more,the above team players don't get as much respect and names mentioned by local posters cause they don't play Tenn Rush travel ball . #4 Dekalb can shoot . #5 La Riddle will coach em up,kids may not be as talented but tradition nevers graduates. #6 Cannon will have good athletic size. #7 #8 Smith / Watertown. Will see how these two shake out.

Ranking Bibb ? Hmm ,not coached "girls" at high school level and forgetting about Leslie Riddle at La?

Probably giving Cookeville too much benefit ,but guessing the new coaching staff settling in and kids and parents buyin in will make them better this year.

Agree Meigs will probably play Macon or Crossville or even maybe Upperman substate,Meigs can ball!!

You still have to have talent, sayin no better than 5th.. realistically 6th or worse.

I am takin Stone in this district and Cookeville / Sparta/ Rhea a toss up for 2nd, district is not that strong but comparable and competitive.

I would answer "yes" to all three questions.
