  1. I hope your ready to be crucified by the numerous biased DC fans on here. Should be a race to see who can "put you in your place" quickest. /tongue.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":P" border="0" alt="tongue.gif" />
  2. Nice to see Obion Central back in the field for the first time in a while on the boys side. I don't know if they can hang with the Marshals, but playing in front of that many people will be a game they won't forget. The girls game between the two schools should be a classic.
  3. my apologies about that, but I would still enjoy seeing that list to see the 66 players better than him in the senior class. I personally am struggling to think of THAT many.
  4. you should post that website yankee it would be very interesting to see the names on the list if Kenney Greer is only number 67!
  5. I agree with that to some point. I think it should be open to more schools seniors that are worthy but might have been on a less successful team instead of the top teams sending all their seniors. They might be pretty talented, but the last two seniors shouldn't outweigh the top senior on a lesser team, say the Milan's Obion Central's and Gibson County's of the world. It would represent RURAL West Tennessee a little bit better, IMO.
  6. that would be appreciated. this seaon has been so tremendous i don't want it to end! So any last game or two other fans and I can enjoy watching these local standouts play would be that much more enjoyment. Northwest Tennessee should be very well represented in both the West Tennessee all star game of course and the East West game. Its been a standout year for the region.
  7. Anybody know of the rosters for the East v. West Game, West Tenn. Golden Circle All Star Game, etc.? Or have they not been announced yet?
  8. I think your top three will be Dyer Co. Obion Central and Crockett Co. Milan will be up there but they don't really have a pure threat just yet, but one could develop I'm sure. My dark horse has to be Crockett. The Cavaliers return ALOT and if it weren't for two or three bad minutes, Dyersburg wouldn't have made it out the first round of the districts. Westview and Dyersburg will be way down and my jury is still out on Gibson Co. If the Mays kid can keep his nose clean with the Masagna kid back they should be pretty tough, but theres alot of if's there.
  9. Milan shot the lights out and OC did not. There bread and butterall season sort of wained when it counted. From the start of it and the way the Rebels came out on fire I thought it was going to be a good night for Central but givecredit to the bulldogs for fighting back. They just got hot at the right times in the game. Quite frustrating and disappointing to have to see this senior class have to go out like they did, I really think if they could have gotten past this game they could have gone far but it just wasn't in the cards. Quite heartbreaking for the Rebel faithful, but I'm sure not as much as the players and seniors especially. Keep your head up though boys, you had a great season, much better than anyone expected from you. I just hope you can look back and be proud of that and don't let this game be your lasting memory. You played hard and that's what counts. Good season. Really wish it could have gone on further.
  10. against Dyersburg. Only a junior and Gilliam has now surpassed the 1000 point mark. Could very easily finish top ten scoring all time in Central history. Just a pure scorer, athlete, and just all around good kid. Congratulations Nick. And on a side note, Gentry Reedy joined the Lady Rebels' 1000 point club against Crockett last night on what else, a three!
  11. Hamilton Hudson - Gibson County Ralph Masagna - Gibson County David Vaughn - Milan Marcus Easley - Westview Justin Blake - Dyer County Jeremy Kimble - Dyer County Rex Pierce - Dyer County Victor Mclin - Dyersburg Sherdrick Nicholson - Dyersburg Silvanus Lee - Obion County Central Cory Gibson - Obion County Central Justin Owens - Obion County Central Matt Harner - Obion County Central Ok so I'm not an idiot, some of these don't have a snowball's chance in you know what of making it, but I'm a 13AA fanatic and an Obion County grad, so I figured these kids deserve the nod. Plus, alot of these are worthy just from their pure game changing ability whether it be defensively, shooting the three, etc.
  12. I plan on heading to Central Station and watching OC's final game tonight against Crockett. This is a makeup game betwee nthe two from Tuesday night because of the storms. The Rebels were actually supposed to be in Fulton County, Kentucky tonight, but cancelled that to makeup this crucial district win. I would love to see a Rebel victory tonight to put them in a tie for third and possibly even second just for the fact that this group of seniors has been through so much adversity with all the coaching changes, etc. It would be great to see those four young men go out on top with a win on Senior night and for it to put them in a contending role.
  13. I personally feel like that was the most complete game Central has put together in the past five or six games. They took excellent care of the ball all night as compared to previous games, their shooting got hot again behind Gibson and Owens, and their defense really stepped up. At times the more athletic Trojan bunch dominated the boards, but that's something that can be fixed IMO. I think Dyersburg played well also though so it was it was a well fought game throughout by both teams with the more prepared team coming put on top. And foul wise this game was atrocious. 53 called, with plenty more going uncalled. The Dyersburg players layed all over the Rebel squad without a call. Likewise, OC got away with alot of careless reaching. In the end though, it was very motivating to see the Troy Boys get back on the winning note and play like I as well as many other Rebel fans have seen them play previously. Keep it up boys, your season is far from over if you play like that!!!
  14. Don't jump to conclusions my friend. I have always thought that outside Dyer County, position by position Gibson County has the most talent in the district. Shooters, scorers, jumpers, bangers, all that sort. Now, playing up to that potential is another thing. But the Pioneers could easily hang an "L" on Dyersburg tonight. If that happens along with Obion beating Crockett and Dyer County finishing off the perfect district record against Westview, there would be a three way tie for second, then its up to the coin. Tonight's the most crucial night of the season seeding wise across the district. Only fitting that the last night of district play is the most exciting.
  15. Last week of the district season in 13AA is here. What a year so far!! Can't wait for the tournament. The third and fourth place seedings are still up in the air between Obion Central and Westview if I'm not mistaken. They can finish tied for that critical third position and then I have no clue how the tiebreaker would go. THis spot is critical for the tournament because the team left out is forced to play in the 4-5 game then Dyer County the second round. So needless to say, there's still a lot left on the line!!!
  16. Central really let Tuesday night's game get away from them, and quite possibly their shot at going deep in tournament play. They've had opportunities to keep themselves in the driver seat, but with a loss to Gibson, and two hard fought losses to Westview and Dyersburg, their squandering it away. Now the Rebels are forced win at least two of their final three district games over Dyer County, Dyersburg, or Crockett County. Tough task but its the hand the Rebels have chosen to play. I really felt like this team could have sustained what they had going at the beginning of the season because they seemed IMO to have a different mindset than years past. They've just went ice cold with their shooting, and ball handling, which is what gave them their early victories. It's still obtainable though Rebels, don't give up. If you really want it bad enough then you will prove it these next three games. C'mon Rebels were all still behind you guys.
  17. Obion doens't match up very well with Union City, but to say that those kids make a very bad team is a horrible thing to say. They've gone out and improved themselves tremendously this year, but I guess you wouldn't know since your too busy playing for or attending Mannassas to get out enough to know that /wink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="wink.gif" /> .
  18. Gilliam's strength is slashing, but he's gone away from that here lately. Seems to be settling IMO. Fair assumption their OCfan. He beings the shooting and occasional drives of Lee and Gibson into the fold when he does so. You can tell by those two productions as of late that he hasn't really done so. Keep it up though Nick and the rest of you Rebels, you're playin' great!
  19. agreed. all the the Rebels need to do is contain Mclin and keep the bigger Trojans off the boards and they should come away with a victory. But then again, if those shots aren't falling, and they haven't been at all the past few games, then it could be a long night. Their early season automatics have lost their stroke here lately. Gilliam's touch has been slightly off, Gibson has been struggling, but Smith is starting to come back around. It should be a great game however. Can't wait to get the popcorn and watch this one!! /popcorneater.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":popcorneater:" border="0" alt="popcorneater.gif" />
  20. Remember those GC, the Pioneers built at least a ten point lead on the Rebels last time, only to let OC come back and stretch to 15+. Then Central proceeded to have their meltdown which, in the end, made for a few cardiac problems for fans of both squads. Big game tommorow night, big game!!Remember those GC, the Pioneers built at least a ten point lead on the Rebels last time, only to let OC come back and stretch to 15+. Then Central proceeded to have their meltdown which, in the end, made for a few cardiac problems for fans of both squads. Big game tommorow night, big game!!
  21. Totally agree and I hadn't forgot about the other three believe you me. These Rebels are more talented than people think, but those three four players bring the entire basketball dimension to the Central's attack offensively. And the Harner assesment is right on. He has that mid-range down to an art, but can he sustain it? The Union City game last year was a great example. I believe the key for him will be to not overdue it and think that one big game means he's the second coming of Michael Jordan, like other Central players have done in the past this season. He's got to let it come to him, not force anything becasue in all honesty, the Pioneers probably have to advantage inside with Masagna and Ellis. He and Boucher need to stick with those guys on the glass and let that be their main concern and let the scoring and all the other chips fall where they may.
  22. Not knocking GC, but the first game, IMO, was not very indicative of just how good BOTH teams are. Central really laid an egg against the Laddy Pioneers the first time, but with a packed gym in their favor and momentum behind them, I'm taking OC by 7. Go Lady Rebels!!!!
  23. i hope this one's just as thrilling of a nailbiter as the first time these two teams tusseled. Heard the Pioneers have been playing some better basketball as of late despite the losses, while the Rebels have continued their winning ways. Should be a good one in Troy tommorow!!!!
  24. Parker won't be greeted with much warmth I do not imagine. And they way Harner played the other night, if he hadn't waited until this late to have an impact inside for the Rebels offensively, I would say that some of those losses they had would have swung the other direction. And you for sure wouldn't have the Logan chatter, which is old news. Best thing for the Rebels is to keep the inside play going and get Gibson shooting the ball like he was before Christmas again alongside Gilliam and Lee slashing to the hole and the Rebels become a very dynamic offense that would be hard to control. Keep it up Rebels and keep improving. Can't wait for tournament time!!!!
  25. totally agree. how in the world do you lose TWO district games by 20+ in a row and still be top ten ranked???? i just can't get it through my mind.
