  1. Taylor Strong Clay Co. 6A District Miss Basketball is more than just stats. Taylor has the stats, even set multiple school records but she is much more... Valedictorian and very active in her community. This girl is the total package.
  2. I will agree 8AA isn't what it has been in the past but I wouldn't say weak. They just don't have dominate pitching as they have in the past. However, it has been a straight Slug Fest this year with these top 4 teams. Even when they play tourneys with pitching...all these teams can hit. No doubt other teams will hit on whomever makes it out of 8AA...It will come down to if they hit like they can and makes the least errors.
  3. Wow...how can you even say that? Upperman beat us like a drum all year...the kids can play. Even on the losing end three times .... I can still say they didn’t have anything handed to them. They always play hard... no way you go undefeated like that and just get stuff handed to you. If you want anyone to even consider anything you say as intelligent... you have to call it like it is & not act like a scorned fan or ball team. I hate this Championship had controversy..., but you have to give credit where it’s due. Macon played a heck of a game but UHS did too and pulled it out in the end.
  4. Wrong... ‘96 LA game was worst call in State history. LA up 1 ...5 seconds and girl drives into a girl straight up... whistle buzzer. LA loses 50-49. We have 4 Gold & 9 Silver .... when it should be 5 Gold. No game should be determined by a whistle at buzzer...ever.
  5. You are correct. It was a great game! I watched a team lose the Gold from a whistle at the buzzer... LA ‘96 girls. Tiffany Krantz & Sunday Watson Era. LA up by 1 with 5 seconds...Masters straight up in the paint & the girl drove in and shot wildly and they blew the whistle. West View won 50-49. Krantz(96 Miss Basketball nominee) went on to start every game in 4 years for Auburn & Watson(96 Miss Basketball) went to Indiana. That was a horrible way to end their senior season. So, I can say we know and we were there and our coach never charged the court or touched a ref... just saying. Last night...It was a bad call but Dana was out of line... 3 different times... period. She knows it. Even that being said..I can say I feel like No State Championship should ever be decided by a whistle ...ever. Watching A & AA on TV today I’m amazed at all the young talent that was on MTSU court this year... wow. Macon will be back, Greenfield will too in single A.
  6. Just a little history.... just last year UHS kids took to Twitter and posted a picture of a Tornado and told Macon they would wipe out/destroy them like that tornado did on ‘08. 14 lives lost & a town destroyed ... but yes UHS joke about it. Yes, Adults should know better... just last week you had a man come down the step cussing LA student section across the gym. So, you arguing about bad behavior from any team falls in def ears because UHS leads everyone in this category.
  7. I will start by saying Levy made a clean block from replay in slow motion I saw. But this game is played in real time and it did look like contact. Bad call. However, if you used replay for the whole game Levy would have fouled out before the end... so you can’t just use replay to argue the play you want. Bad call or not Dana shouldn’t have acted like she did... her son chased her all around that court pulling her away. No one in their right mind can say she was in the right but it played out like it did and it was a heck of a game! I have stayed away from commenting on this thread or any social media because I have good friends at UHS... great people and great kids. BUT THIS COMMENT above is LAUGHABLE and the other post where you said “they (UHS)never call players out by name and say you suck”... uhhh yeah they do... that’s exactly what they do! They make signs with kids names on it, make props to make fun of kids. The absolutely without a doubt have the rudest classless student section I have witnessed in 40 years. York Macon DeKalb and LA all have rowdy kids but none compare to UHS(last 10 years running). I have been spat on, cussed, and threatened by that student section not once but twice... absolutely my fault for being late to a game and having to sit close to them. So, girl don’t even try to make it sound like UHS has a classy student section. I want to pull for UHS because of my friends but that student section makes it hard for me to do.
  8. I had asked the same question and was told he wanted to commit early to take the pressure off his senior year so he could just play ball and focus. Plus, they said he loved Indiana State and thought the school was a good fit for him.
  9. What a game!!! Congrats to Harriman on winning the gold. Congrats to Clay Co. for beating all the odds! Everyone kept saying how they should be here... they couldn't get past first round, proved everyone wrong.... then surely that was a fluke and GCA will kill them, proved everyone wrong. They played one of the closest championship games I have seen from start to finish... they fell 1 point short to a great Harriman team. They have so much to be proud of!
  10. Lol...that did sound odd. I meant how proud I would be if that was my kid killing it on the court.
  11. See... that wasn't so hard to do! D**N I'm not his mother... but I can't imagine how proud she is! I am from Livingston if you want to know....everyone knows who I am because I don't hide it. Could you comment on here with everyone knowing your name?
  12. You just proved my point...it seems personal. You can't say anything straight out good about him and leave it at that....it's always a backhanded compliment with you. EVERY SENTENCE is a backhanded compliment...read for yourself.
  13. So, question for you.... next year when he has Success in college will you give him credit or will you still be trolling and dogging High school players? I think you have a slight obsession with Tyreke... it's always something about him with you? I'm not even from Clay Co & I have noticed you and how you ALWAYS have something negative to say about him. It's like it's personal? Are you a dad and he schooled your kid or are you a player who could never hang with him?
  14. So, Macon making top 8 means they aren't a good AA team?
  15. You could be correct on this one .... but Mitchell didn't hang around to see. Clay played a top 8 team yesterday & won...can you give Clay & Tyreke credit now? I can't believe grown #### men sitting behind a computer hated on a kid who clearly has talent. He is the most humble kid you will ever meet who just loves this game & no matter what you continue to say about what he "could or couldn't" do...he WILL be successful.
  16. Macon is good ball club year after year..no one can argue that but to say a girl who missed last year is the "Best Pitcher" in the district is pushing it. LA & DeKalb both have stellar pitchers and have both signed too. No doubt it will be a pitchers duel this year...
  17. Haha... 😆No doubt coaches paid attention more because it was brought to light. But, they called her on it because she was doing it. Every team in our district complained ..Our umps never had the guts to do it. Hey like I said ... I don't blame her or Bond for not correcting it... If they don't call it keep doing it. I took video of her last few games at state and it was much better, and she was still called every game for it, vs what we saw all season.
  18. Haha... 😆No doubt coaches paid attention
  19. Congrats on a great season Dekalb... Definitely a great team. Let me say Tyra Graham is a phenomenal player... She showed up and showed out her last game of her high school career. TigerPride23, I agree if you watched video taken at state after they started calling illegal pitching... She did a much better job of dragging. I have plenty of video from season where it is VERY obvious & I have some from state after they called her and she leaps a little. When she had to pitch legal... More hitters hit off her than normal. Hey I don't blame the kid at all... If they aren't calling it why stop. I blame our umps for not keeping it fair.
  20. Yep... You pretty much summed it up. Hey.. I'll be the first to say Bond is a great coach, Dekalb is great team, Cap is a great pitcher but I would just like to see how everyone plays on even playing field!
  21. This was what I have been saying all season. We pay our umps too much not to follow a basic rule and call it. She can drag her foot but why should she when she can pitched harder leaping and no one calls it. Now it's a bad habit & the sad thing is Dekalb is a GREAT team and now this whole team has to deal with a situation... At state... that should have been addressed a long time ago.
  22. Haha flying is good term too. The official word in rule book is leaping.... I wish it would let me post a pic. It shows an example of both crow hoping(replanting and then pitching) & leaping is not keeping contact with the drag foot(both feet in air at same time). Didn't it use to allow us to add a pic before? I can find a place now.
  23. Hey I think Tyra Graham hasn't gotten near enough credit. This girl makes me way more nervous at the plate and in field than any other... She is that good. This girl has been a deciding factor in every win I have seen from Dekalb. I love her attitude too, she lets her play do the talking. About leaping For all those who say "well she hasn't been called for it"... That's was the same quote Louisiana Lafayette coach said yesterday when the pitcher was called for 6+ illegal pitches for leaping. The head official said "I don't care what hasn't been called, I'm calling it because it is a rule". He is right, how mad would you be if a batter swung and a ball hit her over the strike zone... Ump awarded her first anyway & said "well no one else has called it". Little different perspective on the whole "no one else has called it" approach. 😉
  24. I respect your post way more than the other guy who said LA was just in cause Macon wasn't full strength (only reason I chimed in to begin with). I'm not trying to be an a&$ either ... I will state the facts... Cap is a beast and there is no question about that from anyone but she does leap. Last year she wasn't as bad as this year... I have seen the videos have taken of her where people complain both years. I'm just telling you what I heard the college coach say standing behind me at the game. I agree that you are doing a fine player an injustice by not fixing it now. I don't know how close any of you follow college softball but Florida about lost two games in World Series a few years ago from their pitcher not dragging and leaping. They were awarded a base for every illegal pitch and that girl was barely off the ground.
  25. Haha the only crap I'm reading is what you just said. Macon co is a great team without a doubt but LA beat them 3 times this year and Dekalb once. The two last games Dekalb beat LA was 0-1 & 4-1... You didn't walk all over them and you are full strength. Caplinger is an outstanding ball player, not just pitching ... This girl can swing the bat very well & just all around good ball player. However, I agree you are not helping her in the long run by not correcting her leaping. Our local umps all say it is leaping but "no one else calls it so they aren't". That is hilarious and sad all at the same time. A rule is a rule & it won't fly in college I guarantee you that.... So winning isn't everything if you hurt the kid in the long run. Even the college scout at LA Dekalb region game said one is pitching legal and one leaping and "it's hard to correct that after so long". So hey go win your games and championships with a great player that you are not doing justice by not preparing her for next level.
