  1. There are 20 teams in Region 5 & 6 in AA girls and 20 teams in Region 7 & 8. I don't understand why this is an issue. How do you put Memphis into two districts without putting Region 5 & 6 into two districts. Gibson County and Westview have a very tough route, but that should make them battle tested. Obviously it did, Westview won the state. Also, JCM & Liberty will more than likely be dropping to AA in 2023. I'm anxious to see where they put them.
  2. If I know the TSSAA like I think that I do, I would say this is the plan they are going to do. Too much thought and prep went into the video for it not to be the plan. My opinion.
  3. The Savannah Courier released this morning that Brandon Kirk is the new girl’s coach.
  4. Coach Sinclair will do an awesome job at Riverside. He is a former Adamsville guy from back during some of Adamsville's best teams and runs. He knows what great basketball looks like and what it takes to get it there.
  5. By the looks of the crowds it looks like the 4 Classifications will Stay for a little while. Huge crowds on semifinals day. Most I’ve seen in several years.
  6. What's sad is that only two of the top 4 in 2A rankings will make it to State.
  7. Southside is so fast, well-coached, and they press all night with athletes that can go 10 deep!! I'm glad we are out of that district. Southside should be one of the favorites to win it all. I saw South Gibson this summer. They are solid, but a few years away from the Southside level. To match Southside's pressure, you have to have several guards and multiple shooters.
  8. How is everyone feeling about their girl's basketball season this year? Should be fun. Looks like we will have full gyms this year!! We have a new district, region, and substate!! We are looking forward to the new alignments.
  9. Scotts Hill, Adamsville, and Decatur County have all played in the old AA district with Southside, Lexington, Chester County, and McNairy for four years. I think they are all battle tested and ready for any of the Memphis region and substate teams. The big question is, will they play this year? I know that our new district has reached out to them and there has been no response from the girls or boys sides about scheduling or tournaments sites if no satellite games. Who knows? I keep hearing that the TSSAA is going to keep the 4 classification system or maybe even go to the 5 classification system after this cycle. I think the 4 classes will stay, I'm not sure about the 5 just yet.
  10. I give the edge to GC on the head to head matchups with Westview. I think Wilkins is great at one game scenarios. They may split the home/home games. More than likely play each other for the district and region championship. It is sad that only two of the four teams from Westview, GC, Loretto, and Summertown will get to go to the 'Boro. Two really good teams will have to go home. That will be a tough pill to swallow.
  11. The unfortunate thing for Gibson County, Westview, Loretto, and Summertown is that only two of them will make it to state this coming year. All of those teams will probably be ranked in the top 7 all year and with the new Regions and Substates the rankings really won't matter until the very end of the season. Westview is tough as always. I saw them play at Bethel. We played Gibson County 2 at Bethel, which was basically their JV with a couple of starters sprinkled in here and there. Loretto is very strong again and maybe a tick better than last year. Summertown was at Wayne County, and they aren't as strong as last year. Solid, but they don't have the guard play like last year. I think Loretto will be at the 'Boro and it will be a slugfest with Gibson and Westview all year.
  12. I'm not saying that District 13 will have anyone to win/compete for a state championship. Two teams will go to state from Region 7 & 8. As you well know, the favorites don't always win. The Glass House can cause great shooting teams to look average/below average, especially in the quarterfinal round. Adamsville, Riverside, and Scotts Hill are happy to finally be in a district/region with the same enrollment numbers as themselves.
  13. Regions 5 & 6 are only going to send two teams to the state. I will say this. Whoever makes it to the state from those Regions will be battle tested. Between Gibson County, Westview, Loretto, Summertown, Huntingdon, Union City, and you can throw in Cheatham County and Giles County, that is some strong girl's programs. The sad part like I said, only two can go. Should be some great district, region, and substate games. You better win the your Region and play substate at home for sure.
  14. I agree with what you said for the most part. One thing I think you should take into consideration is the fact Scotts Hill, Riverside, and Adamsville have been playing for four years in a district against Southside, Chester, Lexington, and McNairy. All of those teams have seen several D1 & DII players on a nightly basis and some tremendous athletic and well-coached teams. I think that district has made those teams a lot better than the experts think. Don't be surprised if there isn't a team or two out of Region 7 & 8 that will be hard to put out of the tournament.
  15. Prayers from Adamsville!!!
  16. Let's be real. Gibson County has had an easier path to the Regional Semi-finals every year. It's almost a given that is going to happen. Your weaker district opponents have allowed that to happen. I'm not taking anything away from Gibson County, great coach and tons of talent. If your new district remains in tact, you won't have any night offs in that district. Every district game will be a battle. That should prepare you for the region and substate. Whoever makes it to the state out of that region will be the clear favorites to win it all. From a geography standpoint, when Scotts Hill, Riverside, and Adamsville were in the old single A our region opponents were always out of Memphis. So, we are used to traveling well over a hundred miles to play our region semi and championship games. Lastly, from a geographical standpoint Gibson County's new district makes more sense. All of that district is further north than any of the remaining teams in our lowly district.
  17. I just looked at the classifications and Dyersburg went from being one of the largest AA schools to one of the smallest AAA. That has to be a roller coaster ride for them.
  18. Adamsville, Decatur County, Scotts Hill, Madison, and Bolivar I think would make more sense. Milan and Haywood would go with teams further North. I've also seen the possible district of Adamsville, Scotts Hill, Decatur County, Camden, and Huntingdon. If Dyersburg stay in 3A, you could have 2 Districts with 6 teams in each. I'm anxious to see where they put us (Adamsville).
  19. I think the districts will be smaller with 4 classifications. Adamsville, Scotts Hill, Decatur County Riverside, Camden will probably be in the same district with one or more additional teams added. Westview, Milan, Gibson County, Union City will probably be a district as well. You might could add Bolivar to that district too. Huntingdon and Peabody could be added to the mix it's just according to the numbers.
  20. i have heard that Westview may choose to move up a classification so that they don't lose the rivalries they have established in their district.
  21. Milan looks like they will be AA and possibly Bolivar.
  22. Anyone have an idea what the potential split numbers will be in the new 4 classifications?
  23. Has anyone looked at what the potential even split will be with the new 4 classifications?
  24. Adamsville is no longer on a post season ban. It ended when this past season ended. The new coach will have no sanctions.
  25. I really hope that we go to four classifications in basketball, baseball, and softball. At Adamsville, Riverside, and Scotts Hill we went into AA classification by an average of 20 students at each school. We are in a district with 8 schools. Over half of our district's enrollment doubles our enrollment. We have 520 kids competing against schools that have 850-1000 kids. Our kids compete and play hard, we don't make excuses!!!!!! However, the numbers matter!!! Coaches at South Side, Chester, and Lexington have told us that its not right for us to be in a district with those lop-sided numbers. Almost every state that touches the state of Tennessee has at least 5 classifications in every sport. We shall see what happens.
