Well, they certainly had their chance…It’s my understanding that they had originally accepted to play, but when it came time to complete the paperwork they pulled out… Can’t fault them. It was probably the correct call for their program…

Easy or not, that at least would be a win/loss against a team with a winning record!

That’s the BIG question. Do those schools play up? At the moment, I would be pressed to say yes because they made the move before, why wouldn’t they do it again? Also, our AD tried to get AC, Greeneville and Betsy to agree to a 2 year deal (last year and this year) and they all declined. We shall see…

That’s the reason Alcoa decided to stay in 3A. It’s all a huge game. Our AD waited till the last minute to try to keep that from happening, but several went ahead and jumped ship and it cost them two seasons…

I would agree with you if the teams currently in 4A stay in 4A… However, with past moves, I don’t see that happening. Then, the competition wouldn’t be any better than what we currently have….

And yet you started this thread about the EN revenge tour (most of those revenge teams don’t have a winning record) and taking the state championship title in October.. Come back and talk when we’ve BOTH made it to the big game. Until then, it’s all cheap talk and what ifs and you don’t have the knowledge or experience to play the game.

I think Alcoa moves to 4A next reclassification cycle. However, it is very possible that our AD decides to go ahead and bump up depending on the region setup per TSSAA. I don’t see Alcoa traveling 2 hours to upper East Tennessee 4/5 times every other year to play teams that are no better than the ones we currently play….

One BIG win on your schedule isn’t going to get you to the number one strength of schedule. Div ll at the AA level as a whole does not have enough to maintain a top SOS, imo. I would say Alcoa at 32 is comical. Therefore, Massey seems like a joke with no credibility of ranking strength of schedules…

Had this same kind of discussion last year with someone from LA. I suggested he/she have their AD call AHS and request a two year deal. We’ve had some great games in the past with LA. As of now, I am not aware of the AD making any requests…Have a great night!
