  1. Yes I was aware of that much which made me wonder how many actually played in their system since middle school. Thanks for reply.
  2. But not the fact I was asking for. Thanks anyway.
  3. Why are you triggered? I'm simply asking an honest question as I'm curious.
  4. The QB didn't play in middle school? The coach's boy I believe did. My question is how many on the roster now actually played ball at Upperman Middle?
  5. How many on the roster have actually played at least their junior high years in Baxter?
  6. Can DeKalb string together 2 games of their lives? Consistency from game to game hasn't been there. I'll go with Marshall 35-13 although DeKalb is definitely playing later than anyone ever thought.
  7. Agreed that this is the tallest hurdle of the season. If they play like they did against Maplewood, it will be tough. LA 28-20
  8. That's random. I have no idea what you're talking about with the throat slash. You're right that if it happened it is wrong. Like I said, no excuses.
  9. Please don't lump LA in with UHS. No excuses here.
  10. My dad stood by the fence but didn't say much. Held on so wouldn't fall down in his drunkenness
  11. Deflecting? I'm just stating irrefutable facts. I'm not getting in a debate, just describing the landscape to our friends outside of the Upper Cumberland. You're acting like every kid that goes to Upperman is picking their teeth on a rocker on their back porch in good ole Baxter. My point is that the lines are blurred. Baxter runs into Cookeville thus Cookeville kids go to Upperman. I'm not sure how Prescott situation is irrelevant? About the whole starting 5 come from there, and Prescott is a feeder for Cookeville. There are other examples in addition to the large "dad is a cop" example for out of county (other Overton, Clay, etc). I'm simply pointing out that Upperman benefits from an open zone system within the most populated county in the Upper Cumberland. Good, bad, or indifferent.
  12. Yes, Putnam County is open zone. High schools are Upperman, Cookeville, and Monterey. Talk is that another high school on the south end of Cookeville will happen in the next couple of years. High school students can pick any of them to go to.
  13. I'm quite certain there are plenty of kids with Cookeville addresses playing. Remember, Cane Creek is "zoned" for UMS which in turn UHS. The high schools in Putnam County are "open zoned." I could live in Monterey and go to school at Upperman as long as I can get to the school. It's just that bus routes aren't ran, obviously. Upperman has benefited in other sports also from "transfers" from surrounding counties. I'm not complaining about, that's just the way it is until Putnam County gets a little more strict on zoning. I know the boys bball team has benefited from at least 5-6 (more? I don't know) Prescott ("zoned" for Cookeville) players. Many parents simply avoid sending their kids to a big school like Cookeville in favor if Upperman. After all, it's only a couple miles away. Anymore route 70 is blurred with increased population and it's hard to tell where Cookeville ends and Baxter starts. Again, not complaining, this is just was evolved over the last many years. It is what it is.
  14. You're working yourself into a frenzy. Calls go both ways every game. The TD pass was a TD. No way you could have seen it as clearly over in the visitors stands. I get that. For the pass interference, I don't even know which play you are talking about. Your DBs got away with a lot of defensive holding but, hey, it's only a penalty if you get caught. It is what it is. For running back play, no idea what you're talking about. DC was stopped on 4th. QBs forward momentum was stopped, the ref blew the whistle, then he surged forward. So we take our "own" refs with us AND we keep them at home? Just so you'll feel better, we would be 0-7 without the refs this year. Now you can rest easy tonight.
  15. I had LA by 32 so I was off one point. Although I thought DeKalb would actually score. 90 yards of total offense doesn't cut it. Westmoreland (7-2) and Upperman (10-7) games were closer the first half. I may be missing another but don't think so. Also LA beat Upperman on the road.
  16. LOL I forgot this was the same person on the Upperman-LA board.
  17. You are the first person I've heard thus far say they are not deserving of their ranking, which is simply irrational. I can't stand Upperman. But I sure as heck KNOW they are a top-10 team in 3A, regardless of how I feel about them. This is a new year and a much more stout defense. I haven't seen any comments yet on how DC is going to stop the LA offense.
  18. ok let me make sure this is correct. The LA defense has for the most part shut down everyone all year. And the golden ticket for this game against the #7 team in the state is a freshman running back? Nobody is sleeping. You must think LA is sitting back and yawning. I can tell you that isn't the case. And whatever DC has planned it will be prepared for.
  19. LOL whatever you have to tell yourself to feel better, go ahead. LA is the better team this year. Learn to live with it! My serious prediction: Upperman 38, YAI 7.
  20. 67-0 YAI. UHS gets the shock of their lives. MadHatter will step down as Executive Homer but will still believe UHS is the better team. "What ifs" will bounce inside the minds of all Bees fans. Inevitably, it will all go back to one date in time...when LA said "not today" to Upperman. OK, yes I'm trolling. Just in that mood.
  21. I think this one is going to be closer than people think. I think Westmoreland hangs around for 3 quarters before giving away a late crucial turnover. Watertown 27-15
  22. Looks like DeKalb is improved from the train wreck last year. Maybe a sliver of confidence is there. Going to need more than some confidence to beat this LA team. LA gets the homecoming win and the train keeps rolling. Early touchdown for DeKalb and a late one against the second defense. LA offense rolls and the D gets a TD on this one. 45-13
