One of you guys correct me if I’m wrong, but isn’t this the 5th straight season that Oakland & Maryville have met in the semifinals? Plus the regular season matchups makes 7 total meetings in the same timeframe.

I thought the Rebs defense looked pretty good against Oakland in Week 2! I can only imagine it has gotten even better as the season has progressed. I can't imagine a scenario where Maryville gives up 40+ points in this one

As others have already mentioned, I completely disagree that Oakland will get dominated up front.

MJ looked great last night, impressive performance. I also think that’s the worst I’ve seen Blackman play all season. Gotta bring your best every week this time of year or you’ll be hanging up the equipment! Especially at this level. Looking forward to a great game next Friday night

I'm not sure you could fairly judge Blackman, or Oakland for that matter, by that game alone. It was a rainy, sloppy game and I don't think you saw the best of either team that night.

I don't think this will be over by halftime either. My prediction is Blackman by a couple scores

I don’t think anyone has said anything about Blackman having a more successful program than MJ. Some were just pointing out that MJ has played a softer schedule this season than Blackman, which is true. It doesn’t really matter who has had more success in the past. The game this Friday is all that matters at this point.

Assuming that Oakland plays as well as they’re capable of, I don’t see this one being particularly close. Have to be ready to bring your A game every week this time of year! The Commandos have made it this far for a reason

24-14 Oakland final. For all the talk about Blackman’s offensive weapons, I was equally impressed with their defense. Pretty sloppy game on both sides tonight in my opinion but a good one nonetheless. I have a feeling we’ll be seeing each other again in November!

I've always had a lot of respect for Riverdale and their program, but it's hard for me to see this being much of a game this year.

Let me first just say I agree that in the grand scheme of things, the outcome of this game doesn’t really matter. It’s a good opportunity for both teams to see where they stand at this point and discover things that may need improvement. That being said, the game definitely matters to both sides.

Really looking forward to this one. Should be a great game as always when these two play each other. Hope for an injury-free game for both sides.
