Nice try for recognition but seriously, Davis (Dresden) arguably isn't the best player on her team, much less district, and forget region. Nice kid though, who WILL make the All-District team, but we're talking about Miss Basketball. Use your head and not your heart. She's NOT the best player in single A by far. I do applaud your effort though.

I know that as fans we can't see all the players in action, so I'd like to know opinions on each district's finest. So list the classification, district, and top five players (no particular order). Let the debates begin !!

While I respect your two cents, I'll have to disagree. My ranking is for the 2016-2017 season, not for a lifetime award...lol. According to your " body of work " comment, only juniors and seniors would be eligible for a top 10 ranking because they've been doing it over the last 3 or 4 years. I'm only using THIS season's body of work. A freshman or sophomore could easily be #1 on my list if she had the numbers to back it up ! Do you really think the Greenfield freshman Darby cares about the upperclassmen's body of work from two years ago? I do see your point though, but I'm just basing my list on the players that I've seen this season. Using your logic, John Calipari's UK team shouldn't be ranked top 10 and UK freshman Malik Monk shouldn't be a candidate for POY or possible top draft pick because neither have a large body of work...right ? Much respect to you and your argument though. This is why I like this forum ! And dmm88, I was referring to Milan's post player X. Moore, not their little guard A. Moore. I should have given more clarification, sorry.

In order.... 1) Jamirah Shutes - Haywood - no doubt #1 2) Chelsea Perry - Middleton - beast on the block 3) Christen King - S. Gibson - best athlete on the list 4) Chloe Moore - Greenfield - saw 3 games (Trtn,GC,UC) not many scorers better 5) Paige Pipkin - Chester County - want to see her in a offense not built for her 6) Anna Jones - USJ - tough scorer off screens but doesn't make teammates better 7) Justyce White - GC - good inside and outside 8) Deja Graves - Westview - improving massive player that's coming into her own 9) Kyla Taylor - Lexington - double-double machine 10) Hailey Hardaway - Bolivar - heart of the team honorable mention; Cunningham S'side, Pratt Crockett, Darby G'field, Lytle TCA, Thompson D'burg, Moore Milan, Vaughn Union City Lots of good talent in West Tn this season and most are underclassmen.

Now that everyone is on Christmas break and we've most west tn teams play, anyone care to give a updated list of best players ?

No order. A - Gibson County, Middleton, Greenfield, Dresden, Gleason, DC Riverside, TCA, Mem Mitchell, Mem BTW, Huntingdon AA - Southside, Lewis Co, S. Gibson, Westview, F'Ware, D'burg, Lexington, Mem Raleigh Egypt, Crockett Co, Mem Sheffield AAA - Houston, Dyer Co, Hamilton, Whitehaven, Munford, Arlington, Hardin Co, Mem Central, White Station, Dickson Co There aren't many 3A schools in our area.

Elizabethton doesn't appear as strong this year and from west tn Haywood is struggling. Jackson Southside looks like one of the better teams in AA this season.

West tn teams are suspect this year. Traditional powers like Middleton and Gibson County are questionable. Dresden beat AA Martin Westview by 24 points and appear strong. Gleason has tons of experience and are looking for respect. Greenfield looks primed for a post season run behind a pair of big-time freshmen.

How about a West Tn top 10 in single A, double A, and triple A......Go !!!

There was nothing shocking about this win. DHS was ranked as high as #4 last season and most of the team returned. Westview doesn't have their stud so any team with a solid press will trouble them. Point guard Zanasha Gadlen, while athletic and quick, is still not ready to run the team full time. This victory, while it highlighted WV'S weaknesses, showed that Dresden is ready for a post season run.

Are you guys really expecting tasia to come back at 100% ? She won't fully trust the knee for a while and add the fact that sitting has added a few pounds and you realize that Haskins will have to ease her back in. Her return will boost team confidence but tasia won't be her old self until next season. Tasia is a heck of a player and I'm so glad everything has gone well with rehab, I just want her to be sure she's ready and not rush things. Great kid, a real winner !!!

Coach Wilkins is one of the best in the business, GC will be looking for a bit of payback and he'll have them ready.

Both teams played hard. Now each will have to make adjustments and the rematch will be just as exciting.

Chloe did quite well with Smithson " in her pocket all night ". The kid's a beast !!!

Is that statement still kinda funny ?? Chloe had 25 points against that pressure. Kid works non-stop on her ball handling. She made it look easy.

I don't know much about Coach Lott. What has he accomplished in the post season ?

Easy tiger.....she would have been another big body for GC, but Westview is just too big, too strong. It's not like she's a big scorer, would've maybe added another 7pts-5rebs. Burkett will make a difference against the smaller single A teams. And please don't give me that " returning starter from last year's state runner up " crap, b/c GC has all their " returning key reserves from last year's state runner up " but still managed to lose 4 of their first 10....correct ? All I said is that Burkett wouldn't have made a difference against b/c she's not a big scorer. I like her game, she's a banger. Next time listen with your head and not with your heart. I'm a GC fan, Wilkins is one of the best !!

GC having Burkett wouldn't have made a difference against Westview.

Moore will handle the press with ease......Darby is strictly a scorer. Let's see how both team's young guards handle pressure.
