  1. How many girls basketball 3 peats can you remember in the history of TSSAA? Is it too early to talk about the possibility of Bradley repeating again?
  2. Bradley has had a running clock against every opponent since the post season began. That’s incredible! Can their defense shut Clarksville down and keep the running clock streak alive? Only time will tell.
  3. Bradley Central wins their District Championship by 70 (83-13) points. Is this team that good or is everyone their playing just that bad? Who has a legit shot of playing with this Bradley Central team?
  4. Which teams will to make it to the Glass House this year to compete for a Gold Ball? There has not been a lot of chatter on here about 4A this season. I’m predicting Sevier County, Bearden, Bradley Central, Cookeville, Coffee County, Beech, Clarksville, Bartlett. What are your thoughts?
  5. I applaud you for supporting your team but you do not always have your facts straight. Bradley and Cleveland do not play for a chance to go to the Boro. They will meet in the Region Tournament. The winner will host a Boro team and the loser will travel to a Boro team for sub-state and a chance to play at the glass house. As for being “weakest” at the post position, I believe Fields proved last year that she is one of the best, if not the best, post player in the largest class of TN girls basketball.
  6. With school starting back soon, who are your favorites for class 4A? It’s never too early to get the conversation rolling! 1. Bearden 2. Bradley 3. Blackman 4. Bartlett 5. Coffee 6. Cookeville
  7. What happened to Blackman tonight? Lost to a 4-5 Franklin team?
  8. No Week 5 Rankings from Tim Lownsdale today? He must have a HOOPFEST hangover!
  9. Below is the story from the Cleveland Daily Banner. I was not at the game but I heard that the Bradley Coach was making his team get 30 passes before they could attempt a shot. He did not play any of his starters the second half and for the most part played them less than one quarter each. I hear that Howard has asked TSSAA to be moved from AAAA to AAA and their coach PURPOSELY made the score seem worse by not playing his best kids to support Howard’s case. This is not a good situation for either program! https://www.clevelandbanner.com/stories/bradley-blows-past-howard-twice,148562
  10. It’s going to be a battle between Blackman, Coffee, Bradley, and Cleveland to see who comes out on top of the sub-state matchups. These four teams are currently in Lownsdale’s top six pics of all classifications.
  11. Sounds like ScottyP is salty about your comments MiddleTnBballObserver! Coffee has a really good team this year. Time will tell if they can keep it together until tournament time. I believe they scrimmaged at Bradley in the preseason and Bradley won by around 10. I believe this region will come down to Cleveland, Bradley, Coffee, and Warren. Each team has tough matchups for the others.
  12. What happened to Warren County this past weekend? Even though Bradley and York are two of the better teams in TN, loosing by 19 and 28 does not look very good. Also, it appears that Coffee scheduled easy teams for the HOF day. They aren’t getting any better scheduling bad competition. The Bradley/Cleveland game should be a good one. According to the TN Report, it will be a 3 vs 6 matchup. Cleveland is a senior led team with a super sophomore. Bradley is a rather young team, starting two sophomores and a freshmen. Guess we will see on December 2nd.
  13. I think you also have to throw in Coffee and Warren into that mix. The battle to get to Murfreesboro from that sub-state will be one to watch. I saw that somewhere Bradley beat Blackman by 18 at Lebanon in a preseason play day. I have also heard a lot about Bartlett but have not seen them play.
  14. Who has looked good as an early favorite?
  15. My original Top 10 before the season began. I did miss Oak Ridge but picking 5 out of the 8 is not bad. The talk in Murfreesboro was the the state tournament game was played between Riverdale and Houston. No doubt it was great game but it wasn’t the championship. The gold ball was not handed out that night. The Bearettes were down in both the semis and the finals but never gave up. It has been said that offense wins games but defense wins championships. I am definitely a believer after watching this gritty Bearette team. Well done!
  16. Sounds like your a little bitter that your team doesn’t get good players. Great Players want to play for Great Teams. Bradley’s Coach and Lebanon’s Coach are some of the best around. They coach their kids hard and prepare them to play at the next level. Why wouldn’t a good player want to play for these programs?
  17. Cleveland Daily Banner reported that the coaches and media unanimously chose Bradley as the top team. With Bradley loosing Howard, I’m surprised that East Hamilton wasn’t chosen for the top spot. With the Hayes’ sisters being a junior and a freshman, they are going to be tough to beat. Thoughts?
  18. Who’s you top 10 preseason pics? Possibly the most wide-open AAA has been in a while. 1) Houston 2) Bradley Central 3) Riverdale 4) Bearden 5) Arlington 6) Lebanon 7) Blackman 8) Maryville 9) East Hamilton 10) Stone Memorial
  19. Rhyne Howard is an amazing student athlete. She has been on a mission since being shunned from the McDonald's All-American game. In my opinion, she's the best to ever wear a Bearette jersey (and I have seen many greats). She has a crew around her this year that can all score. Rhyne is going to draw the defense and 99 out of 100 times make the perfect pass to her teammates to shoot the open shot. The question is, who do you leave open on their team to help defend Howard? I heard someone say the top 7 that are playing with Rhyne averaged 2.1 minutes a game last year. This year those same 7 are averaging 40 points per game. It is a testament to Rhyne's leadership, the players' work ethic, and great coaching. Good luck to the Bearettes as they finish the season! We are rooting for you!
  20. Post of the Year! I think Rhyne is more of a Magic Johnson / Larry Bird type. Kobe is too arrogant for her style of play. I am looking forward to seeing if anyone besides a Murfreesboro team can bring the title home (they have had it for way too long). There are teams out there that have a chance...Bradley Central, Oak Ridge, and Mo West are viable contenders. Murfreesboro teams do have the advantage of MTSU hosting the state tourney every year. I do understand that it is centrally located to accommodate most of the state but, none the less, it is an advantage. Good luck to all the team competing to get to Murfreesboro. Hopefully, this year will be one to remember!
  21. Greeneville has proven to draw the best teams around for the Ladies Classic. It is difficult to win this tournament once but to do it back to back is a tremendous compliment to Bradley Central. Rhyne Howard is a tremendous player and should be Miss Basketball for AAA.
  22. It is my understanding that the Cleveland High School Assistant AD coached more than one tournament that combined both upcoming 8th graders and current high school players. The Fastbreak AAU club is lead by Cleveland's Head Girls Basketball Coach. So, the Coach and Assistant AD either knew the rules and chose not to abide by them or did not know the rules at all. Ignorance is not an excuse for not abiding by TSSAA rules. Incoming players should be ineligible and program should be punished.
  23. Anyone know the details surrounding the Cleveland High School girls basketball coach practicing/playing his incoming 8th graders and current high school players together under his Fastbreak AAU team last Feb, Mar, and Apr? The last time I checked, that is a recruiting violation. Your thoughts?
  24. Anyone see the USA Today rankings? 13. Riverdale 17. Bradley Central 18. Hamilton Heights Any thoughts?
