Some interesting games coming up Saturday. I give Meige a chance because of what you said, Armour and Meadows can score. Meadows had 37 against Loudon, so you never know, but they will have to play good to get a win.

Definitely surprised to see Sweetwater beat Kingston last night, I really think Kingston and Meige are the two best teams in the district but that’s why you play the game. But with that being said I think SW is the only D3 team to get a win. But I think they will be some close games Saturday night.

Pretty simple, SC offered him more $$$ which from what I’ve heard was a big difference, and Meige going to 3A and a big drop in talent next year, and going to SC that knows nothing about winning in FB, and if he turns that program around he will put hisself in position to get a better job. Tommy was probably a good candidate for the Sweetwater job but FG decided to leave and the Meigs job fell in his lap. TMO

Yes, I think Tommy was a good possibility for the Sweetwater job.

He played at Meigs and has been an assistant coach there for several years, and yes they are moving up to 3A.

As a Meigs guy I hate to see him go, but Meigs should be pretty good this season with a big senior class and only losing about 13 players with only about 5 that contributed, but after this season it will probably be a big drop in talent.

I will go with Alcoa and York. Central will more than likely have to beat a good Gatlinburg Pittman team to go to state. If you can stop Massengill you beat Central, she has 30 against Bradley.

Kingston 7-1 Meigs County 5-3 Sweetwater 5-3 Loudon 4-4 McMinn Central 3-5 Tellico Plains 0-8 Meigs plays Kingston Friday and I think Meigs gets the win at home but Kingston will beat Tellico and get the 1 seed, but a lot can still change 2-5

Big game, the winner of the region tournament is almost guaranteed a trip to the glass house. I saw some of region 2 over the holidays and I can say outside of Oneida it is way down.

I’ve not seen Hampton play but I would say they have a good team, but take Cloudland, SG & NG off their schedule and they haven’t played anyone, it could come back to bite them. But region 1 has no competition besides Oneida.

Yes Central is really good and has a lot of young talent with a coach that will get everything out of them. Meigs is definitely the number two team in the region but I worry about them because they always seem to play down to their competition, and that’s usually a sign that they are not mentally prepared to play and the young coaches don’t have them ready, and what that will do is get you beat by a team in the tournament that you’re not supposed to lose to, just like last year.

In 2A Meigs County returns almost everyone and they have a really good pitcher, they should be a factor.

I think Kingston has underperformed the last two years, they have the talent to be pretty good but just can’t get it together, but they’ve had a few coaching changes the last few years so that could have something to do with it.

I think the District and Region are at Loudon

Meigs got down big early but battled back in the second half to make it a good game but just couldn’t overcome the hole they got in. I think those are the two best teams in the district but Sweetwater is not very far behind. I think Meigs will win at home over Kingston but a lot of districts games to come.
