  1. I will be shocked if it’s not Meigs and Central

    8AA

I was really surprised that York and Sequatchie was that close at the half. And still surprised about the margin of victory. But a win is a win.
  3. Oak Ridge pulls out a close one but district 4AAA takes the other 3 games. Oak Ridge has another tough game Monday against Maryville. Should be a good one

    Wow that’s very surprising.
  5. Me too. I had Cleveland winning. If she’s not playing or 100% I will go with Cookeville.
  6. I’m not a Knoxville fan but I would have to agree that the top 4 Knoxville teams are better this year, there all 20 points better than Knox Catholic so I would have to say there all the favorites. JMO
  7. I would have to go with McMinn Central, with Brainerd and Single Mountain having an inside chance.
  8. I think Upperman or Macon to. I think the loser of region 3 can compete but a win is unlikely. The winner will have a tough game but a 50/50 chance.
  9. I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s a district 4 sweep.
  10. I did see something that I find interesting when comparing the top 4 teams from district 8AA to Meigs and Central. That’s a big points difference. Farragut 69 Livingston Academy 32 Farragut 68 McMinn Central 61
  11. I think the 3 best players from Red Bank transferred to Brainerd and are able to play now. That’s what I was told.
  12. Beating a team 3 to 4 times is hard, plus Central has one of the best coaches in the state. Central and Meigs will stay in 2A next year.
  13. To be honest I would have McMinn Central around 11 or 12 I would have them and Alcoa in front of Sullivan East. But I don’t think there better than any of the top 9.
  14. I think the district that was supposed to host this year gets to host.
  15. I’ll take Bradley to win region. Does Bradley get to host?
  16. McMinn upsetting Cleveland has changed things. I thought Cleveland could possibly face Bradley in the championship. First round winners Bradley, Cleveland, WC and Stone
  17. Grainer beat South Greene tonight 64-30
  18. I was not really referring to Stone, the only common opponent is Cleveland and the margin of victory is about the same. I was talking more about Cookeville. I know matchups mean more than anything, but you can gauge some teams when they’re losing or barely beating average or below average teams. For example both Cookeville and Bradley played Knox Catholic twice. Bradley won with the combined score of 69 points and Cookeville with by 10. Cookeville also lost to an average Baylor team and Bradley won by 30+ So I look at that I think there’s a big gap between those teams. But I could be totally wrong and only time will tell.
  19. I have a honest question. Why do you think you have three teams that can compete with Bradley? Based on scores of common opponents I would think there’s a big gap.

    8AA

I’m going to disagree, Central beat Knox Catholic, Catholic beat Oak Ridge and Cookeville struggled to beat them twice, they also play Alcoa two really close games. Alcoa beat a Bearden team that could be the best team in the state. I think there just young and getting better. I also think Meigs is really good.

    8AA

8AA will send a quality team no matter who it is, but Meigs still has work to do. They will more than likely have to beat McMinn Central two more times or Signal Mountain, to host substate. It looks like 8AA district tournament will be delayed for a few days with more bad weather coming tomorrow night. Do you think teams will have to play games closer together?

    8AA

Someone said Meigs couldn’t hang and if they believe that then they could be in for a big surprise. And yes Upperman beat a Bradley team that was replacing some players without much practice because of Coved, not saying they couldn’t do it again. The only other common opponent is Kingston. York won 60-21 and Meigs won 72-25 not that it really means anything. Meigs missed several games earlier this year do to coved but they are playing really good ball right now. They start 5 seniors and all 5 have signed to play at the next level, and you can ask any Upperman fan how good is Meigs, because they know it took three over times last year for Upperman to beat Meigs twice. Look I know that 8AA is a good district but if it works out like it should, and I said IF, then any team coming to Meigs will have to play a really good game to leave there with a win.

    8AA

They’ve lost 4 games 2 games to Bradley they lead both games at the half. Lost to Bearden probably the best team in the state. And Maryville. Upperman is better but Meigs is really close. Meigs will be favored at home over any team that comes from 8AA except Upperman, and that game would be a dogfight just like both games last year.
