  1. QB is a sophomore, we only start about 5 seniors. We are a very young team. We should be a tough out the next few years. Incoming freshman class is loaded also.
  2. Congratulations to the Chargers. Big win against Huntingdon. Game could have gone either way. Clock beat the Stangs. We just couldn't burn enough clock on that last drive. We had Westviews defense completely worn out in the second half. If Westview had just made one mistake in the 2nd half we would have got them. Also on that hit out of bounds in the last minute why was the penalty not marked off. I know a flag was thrown.
  3. Yalls middle school team was impressive, only team to beat the young Mustangs. I'm not worried about young Simpson since Westview is moving to 3a. He is a big time talent.
  4. If the Mustangs "big if" can win region 7 they still got to get by a very tough Riverside team. Rough road!
  5. This game is going to be a battle between 2 very good defenses. Westviews run defense is tough, Huntingdon's plays a very aggressive defense that makes a bunch of stops behind the line of scrimmage. Westview needs to establish some kind of running game to win this game. The Mustang pressure along with an improving and under rated defensive backfield will make it tough if they can lay their ears back! Westview slowed down the Mustangs running attack last year and forced us to throw it on 3rd and long a number of times resulting in interceptions by our freshman QB. I look for the Mustangs to throw the ball more than usual this time to loosen up the Charger run defense. Home field advantage is so big in this contest. Should be a huge and rowdy crowd in Paul Ward stadium Friday night..The strength of this Mustang team has been their consistancy. They have protected the ball which is crucial in this offense and our passing game is very underrated. I like the Mustangs in what should be a close and physical game.
  6. Huntingdon Mustang broadcasting crew of Brian Grooms and coach Jimmy Prichard are topnotch. Coach Prichard, former long time defensive coordinator for the Mustangs brings a wealth of knowledge to the broadcast. This crew also has a Saturday morning show on 100.9 that is very good.
  7. The Lions will be alright. Dresden has a very good 1a team, not a great one. McKenzie has a great 1a team. Team of the century type team!
  8. What team are you a fan of? Mustangs have had some early exits in the playoffs in the last decade, but we've won more games in the last decade than anybody else.
  9. Guess yall need to be rooting for the Mustangs next week. A Charger win and we'll be playing for 2nd place at Union City the last game. At least we got Westview at home.
  10. I agree that mistakes kept the Panthers from having a chance to win. This game should have come down to the wire. Think the Mustangs would still have pulled it out because they were stronger in the 4th qt. Sure hope we get a rematch.
  11. Polls are based on what you've done, not what you can do!
  12. Hate to admit it but I agree. McKenzie is special this year. I don't know that I wouldn't put the Rebels at #1 in this poll. I know they haven't played a tough schedule but that don't make any difference. They are a very good team. They controlled our rushing offense much better than anyone else has!
  13. If yall would play a Thursday night game like your supposed to I could see you!
  14. We dung made the top 10. What's your thinking on rating Peabody ahead of Huntingdon.
  15. I don't dislike Union City any more than anyone else on our schedule. Actually I have a lot of respect for your program. I think our all time series is tied at 11 wins apiece. I've seen a good share of those games. But games like Westview are "trap" games. Fans telling the kids how their going to demolish the Chargers. Who knows what makes teams come out flat, but it happens to everyone.
  16. Yall better beware of Westview. They have some talent and a pretty good defense.
  17. Yep shut down the Bulldog running game. 57 yds on 23 attempts!
  18. Anybody know how many rushing yds the Mustangs had tonight. Must have been a ton!
  19. Mustangs played their ball control offense perfectly tonight. Huntingdon started the game with two 80 yd touchdown drives that burnt a.lot of clock. That 2nd drive took up most of the 2nd quarter. I think Milans defense knew they were in for a.long night. In the 2nd half Huntingdon's offense just wore Milan down. Mustangs played a very fundamentally sound game. Our coaching staff doesn't get nearly as much credit as they deserve. This team is very young and the coaches have these kids believing they can beat anybody. Great job!
  20. Last years MAHS's staff, which I assume is now the MASE staff did a good job coaching against the Mustangs in the play-offs last year. Mustangs played their best defensive game of the year and still lost by a point. They're going to be a tough out playing at home. Playing on the road against a 5 star QB last year was a little much for them. I darn sure would dread having to go to Memphis to play them.
  21. He looks good, in the best shape he's been in, working hard. You know he's one of three defensive starters the Mustangs lost before the season began!
  22. Teetering is over for the Mustangs, we'll never see 1a again. Huntingdon tends to make thing interesting in West Tennessee. We're going to be pretty tough the next 4 or 5 years. Lose only 5 starters this year and have a succession of very strong classes in the pipiline.
