WTG! CONGRATS LADYJACKETS! Awesome Achievement! You proved to be the cream of the crop in 1A. Enjoy this! So proud of our down-the-road neighbors winning the Gold! yes Yes YES!!! I'm thinking this areas teams in Region 7 (Greenfield, Gleason, Dresden in 1A and Westview in 2A) shouldn't have much of a let-up next year, so these Weakley County girls' B-ball teams should continue with more great Boro-bound teams for who knows how long? Going to be fun to watch!

How awesome it would be to have the two final teams in Class A be Greenfield vs Dresden, along with Westview making their AA finals also. Having these three Weakley county teams (Region 7) reach the finals would be fantastic indeed! We'll soon see.

WHAT.. A... GAME! Lady Lions came back in 2nd half, looked like they had it in the bag until late in 4th, then Lady Bulldogs turned it on & came back in a blitzrig & got the lead, then Dresden's Washburn nailed a three pointer with a few seconds left. Dresden wins by 1 pt., 30-29. Amazing, super exciting game! It's an all-Weakley county championship for single A Region 7. Greenfield vs Dresden, and Lady Lions have yet to beat Lady Yellowjackets this year. Perhaps third time will be our charm. Weakley County had 3 of the final four teams in 7A Regional finals, pretty impressive. Plus Westview is in finals for AA too. This area produces some good teams & athletes in girl's b-ball. Go teams, esp. Lady Lions!

Oodles of respect & Congrats to Greenback. Making finals three years in a row is huge, with third time being your charm. Now that your train is full steam & y'all got that winning gold in your system, will anyone be able to stop your momentum? .. I know lots of homer fans will say "Yes our team can" (including myself pulling for Dresden to get another gold, and all the final four & elite eight teams thinking so as well).. It's no joke nor a fluke that you guys are winning like you are. You have served notice a new sheriff is in town, that you ain't a one-and-done team, & 1A teams better step it up a notch or two to dethrone the Cherokees. Love facing good, solid competition because it makes everyone better, ... well, those teams & programs with a winners heart & champions soul anyways. Can't wait to see the future unfold for everyone. Gonna be exciting for sure.

Greenback has got something going on over there! 3 consecutive years in the finals.. I stand and salute you Cherokees. Respect indeed! And after last years loss to Dresden, getting beat by the biggest margin of loss in the history of TN playoff football in any class, I feel sorry for the Bulldogs. The Cherokees are not just good and excellent at what they do, but I would think they are probably playing with a chip on shoulder, and are mad, angry, and bitter over the huge mercy-ruling spanking Dresden put on them, something the gurus & experts & prognosticators said was impossible and could never happen, especially not by Dresden, & anyone who says so is a laughable fool and clinically insane! Yet.. it happened like all us insane idiots predicted and actually it could have been even a higher score by Dresden, 2 or 3 more TD's higher. (I bet the hornet nest is stirred up now, the Cherokee war drums and dancing has begun, and the blood is boiling to go out there and donkey-stomp whoever shows up Thursday!.. If so, mission accomplished) . Yes, from all indicators, stats, history, and emotions involved this should be a lopsided win for Greenback. But so it was predicted for Dresden last year as well. And in all levels of football games this year, in pros, college. & high school, this is indeed the year for the impossible win to happen, for the shoo-in obvious winner to be beaten by the unlikely, unknown, lowly Cinderella teams. Fantastic upsets are happening weekly. And maybe the Cornersville Bulldogs will be part of this group of impossible-to-do-it winners as well. Never overestimate one's own self nor underestimate one's opponent. Any team can beat any other team in any game. I will say Greenback will likely win this game in their third consecutive trip to finals (a great, rare, & worthy accomplishment indeed!)... but honestly I gotta say how sweet it would be if Cinderella-Cornersville wins instead. One more impossible, unlikely, & aint ever gonna happen event does indeed take place. And in a convincing manner too. Which is another chance for the "true experts" to learn some things & lessons about such cinderella, unlikely teams who keep winning. But sadly, such guru experts are usually too smart to stoop down & learn anything from the likes of such moronic fans who predict that the obvious underdogs shall win! It's like a Chihuahua is put in a fighting arena with a pit-bull killing-machine, and little Juan's doggie leaves as the winner over Big Bad John's experienced assassin dog. Can't happen, can it?... Yet in sports games where the two teams can be likened to such crazy examples, the impossible happens. And often at that .. So I am pulling for it to happen again, the underdog Dawgz win, Cornersville's Cinderella is crowned Champions!

Fantastic game! Falcons did themselves proud and represented Reg.7 & W.TN very well. Congrats to Bulldogs who showed everyone it is not a fluke that they are in the Finals. They are the real deal. Cornersville will be facing Greenback who has made it to the big dance three years straight! Talk about earning respect! Dude! Worthy teams in the finals. Good luck to both!

Two "underdog" teams who are highly motivated will meet for the first time! In the home corner is the Cornersville Bulldogs. They've made the playoffs only 7 times in school history with a 3-6 record. This year is their first appearance in final four. They just beat the consensus favorite Huntingdon Mustangs who were declared by most to be unstoppable this year. Playing at home with this huge win under their belt they will be super confident! And in the visitors corner is the Lake Co. Falcons. They are playoff veterans compared to Bulldogs and have a playoff record of 43-31, making the playoffs 34 times. The Falcons often go deep in their run to Gold and have been to the title game five times, having earned 2 Gold and 3 Silver balls in their history. This year both teams are on a mission and super hungry. Based on past playoff history Cornersville is the newcomer underdogs while LC is the powerhouse veterans. Being from Dresden in W.Tn I am pulling for Region 7's Falcons to win again. Looking back on our region over the years, especially recently, I think we've won more Gold (and Silver too) in both Class 1A and 2A than any other region of the state. Or at least we're one of the top areas if not the top for one of our teams to reach the championship game. It's in our water, air we breath, gene pool, & good cooking. Of course the Bulldogs will be worthy opponents but the high-flying Falcons will be too much for Bulldogs. Score 34-20 LC headed to the Ville.

Wow!!! Vikings did impossible. Won 6-0. Lots of lessons to be learned. Next years season & quest starts NOW. Go Lions! DLU. And big congrats to Hillcrest.

Dresden looks flat & unmotivated or sumin. Not at all looking like themselves. Vikings are fired up & playing like they want to win. Hillcrest up 6-0 at half. Lion coaches better put a burr in their saddle & fire under their behind. Vikings won't give Dresden this win, Lions better man up & take over. We will see in second half.

He he. Yes it's an inflated guesstimation done in fun. We had waaaay too many mistakes tonight which if we do this to a good team then they'll take advantage of it and embarrass us. We could have scored at least two more times without our goof-ups. (Making it maybe 65 or more points). We definitely have areas to improve upon, which I think when we get this steam-roller all tuned-up, we'll be hard to stop. The deeper we go the more flawless we have to be. Which I think will happen. Hope so anyways ..But yes, with my PMA tactics if we were 0-10 and playing Alcoa or Maryville I'd predict we'd win. Not 75-0, but maybe 68-14. lol. GO LIONS!

Well both of the top two seeded teams in Regions 7 & 8 won. So Dresden Lions host Hillcrest Vikings on Fri. Nov.10, starts at 7 pm, $8 tickets. Can Vikings upset Lions, or will Lions roll on? (Guess what I predict? Ha! Lions win 75-0)

Running clock. 53-16 Lions. Nanney scores from around 17 yds out after Lockhart intercepted and had a long run back. On to 2nd round. Hillcrest Vikings coming to Lions hog pen. Hope we welcome them like we just did these Bulldogs.

Now it 47-16. Over 6 mins left in game. Hope our Lions get a couple of more TD's out of our reserves. Perhaps more scores out of defense.

Give them credit, Middle College stopped us twice in red zone. Kept us from scoring. Lions could be at least 12 more points ahead, but 33-16 is a good score.. so far anyways. ... Make that another Lion score. Yates returns punt for TD. 3 TD's for him, 3 TD's for Nanney. 40-16 now.

GOOD JOB FALCONS. Bring that team to their knees. Talk about an oxymoronic name... Freedom they know nothing of.. Prep.. yeah, prepping these youth for a thug life.. and Eagles they definitely are not either. More like turkeys.. or chickens.. or buzzards. Stupid stunt they pulled. Make them pay for it Lake Co!

Boom.. just like that Lions running it at them and winning. Dresden ahead 33-16 in third, 3:30 left.

Wow. Is this going to be a game of big plays? They stop us after we took 2nd half possession into the red zone, then bam, they bust an 80+ yd pass TD. Then our turn, few plays later Nanney out run everyone for 60+ yd TD. Back & forth it goes. ... Which is good IMO. The better the teams are we play & beat, the better it is for us. Getting better, faster, stronger, smarter, tougher, gooder each game.

Sounds like this game is going to go to the birds. Pulling for our fellow Reg.7 team LC Falcons. If they win & face Westwood, both teams will have a little extra motivation to win & then seek revenge upon Dresden. Lions took out Longhorns a few years ago in playoffs and LC wants revenge too. But yeah, we all know that teams need to go one at a time and not forget about their task at hand. So Go Falcons.

Do it tonight Tide... & do it BIG! Leave no doubt, take no prisoners.

Running clock. Westwood up 35-0 end of third, they have ball. If LC does play Longhorns it will be a good matchup. Lots of speed on both teams. Greenfield can use this year as a motivational season to build upon. Stronger, quicker, tougher, faster, better.

Well ..Longhorns are exploiting Yellowjackets weaknesses. Westwood way too fast on both sides of ball for Greenfield, and Westwood is extending their lead. Two quick scores, they up 27-0 with 6:00 left in third. .. Keep going Jackets, one never knows. Don't ever quit, even against what seems like impossible odds.

Not a blowout. Westwood up at half 13-0. Greenfield gets ball in 2nd half. A few plays here & there and score could be closer. At least Greenfield is competing. Not folding up. Go Jackets!
