  1. I think so too, because it’s about that time.....
  2. Defense played a great game, slowing down and stopping their rushing attack. We also had 3 int’s too. Offense was a little sluggish but give Creekwood credit they played a heck of a game on defense as well. Wouldn’t surprise me if we see them again.
  3. Congrats to Heritage! I believe first trip to 4A playoffs. Looks like you guys are going to be a tough draw for anyone in the playoffs.....
  4. The Jackets just have to stay focused and keep playing their ballgame in this one. SS is always well coached and should have a good game plan. They lost a lot of key players off last years team. Jackets should roll at home in round one.
  5. Game day. It’s a huge one for both teams tonight. I know both sides will come out ready to play and be hungry for the win. I hope for a safe injury free, hard fought game. Then both teams build momentum heading into the playoffs
  6. I don’t doubt that they can at all. I’m saying there’s 5 weeks left until Cookeville and a lot can happen. Is Haywood a good football team? Heck yes, but there’s a lot of good football teams and coaches in the west that can beat them. Plus they don’t have home field throughout the playoffs this year. If they make it to the semi’s, they’ll be on the road this year. That’s always a tough way to go on Black Friday.
  7. You are correct. I said this in the other off-shoot thread too. Basically everyone trying to make a case for Fayetteville is beating a dead horse. Do I agree with how the TSSAA governs and makes decisions? No, not at all. I don’t like how the player was cleared at the beginning of the season and then deemed ineligible the last week of the season. Maybe the school didn’t provide sufficient proof, or thought they did at the time, that the said player was within rights to play. Either way, both sides should be transparent with their arguments of what has lead to this point. It’s been said before, multiple times; membership is voluntary. You agree to the rules and bylaws set forth by said association when you join. No one will ever win an argument when the person you are arguing with knows and sets the rules you argue by. The TSSAA deals with suits every year, whether you hear about them or not. This is nothing new to them. They will fight this tooth and nail to not let a legal precedent be set against them. Fayetteville is an amateur fighting in a professional world. In the end they won’t win or even come close.
  8. Yes sir exactly right. If I remember correctly the ole NCAA chipped in a little help to the TSSAA on this one. Legal Precedent effects all sports sanctioning bodies, not just High schools. My point is, the TSSAA is an old hand at this game. Fayetteville is the Greenhorn, they WILL lose this and pay dearly for it. Do I agree at how this was handled from both sides, heck no, but you will never win anything going against someone who makes and enforces the rules. It’s that simple.
  9. Very true. There are some teams that can pull some upsets in the west this year tho. Hardin county, Fayette-Ware, and Creekwood to name a few.
  10. 100% correct. The only hope that Fayetteville has is if they win a court case by some sort of technicality, which I’m 99% sure they won’t. When the court battle is over, the hammer will fall extremely hard on them. On the flip side after this is over with, I’d say Lincoln County High’s football team might have a resurgence of sorts........
  11. Bingo! If you want to participate on a large scale with competitive competition in Tennessee, then you gotta be a member of the TSSAA. I’m not sure if you could be an independent and still play against member schools. Playoffs and championships would be out for sure.
  12. The Jackets have been playing some of their best ball as of late, and they’ll need to continue that trend this Friday night. The defense is going to have to have a great night to stop Creekwood’s balanced offense. Like I said before, to me, the LB play on defense is going to be huge stopping the run and coverage in the pass game. I am glad to see #9 looks like he’s back to full strength and hitting his stride running the ball. I am shocked at the lack of the passing game the past couple of weeks tho. I guess if the running game is working why change, but I do believe the Jackets will need it in this game and going forward this year.
  13. You are correct 100%, but how long does this process take? Would the director that made the ruling in September be able to attend to make statements on why he ruled the way he did then? I by no means think you should skip the appeals process altogether, but time is against you this late in the season. I, like many of the posters on here, would like to see what made the TSSAA rule the way they did this past week. Transparency, to me, is key in this whole situation.
  14. I agree with both these statements 100%. FHS should’ve went through the appeals process first. The appeals process should be an unbiased process to be able to get the most fair judgement for all involved. FHS won’t win this, and even if they do the TSSAA will appeal it to a higher court until they win it. THe TSSAA will NOT let this thing set any kind of legal precedent that they will have to deal with in the future.
  15. Now for Springfield vs Creekwood. Springfield's LB core have to have a big night to stop their run and passing game. To me, this will be key. If this doesn’t happen we will be headed to Lexington 1st round.
  16. Hardin Co, to me, is the best team in the west side of the bracket. I know this will draw the ire of the Haywood faithful, buts it’s my honest opinion at this point in the season. They are the most complete team playing right now. No matter how you cut it, they’ve got Portland first round and they will destroy them.
  17. The region champs from our region have home field thru out the plays-offs all the way thru the semis
  18. Thanks BDP for keeping the Jackets in the region championship hunt
  19. Last I heard, last night, it’s still Friday. It probably should be moved to tonight. It’s going to pour tomorrow and the field will be a mess.
  20. ER won because they game planned better than Westie, just saying.........
