He will go hard one play then take the next three off. If they ever get him in shape we will really get to see what he’s capable of.

I agree with the speed. But Science Hill is very short, especially at defensive back. Neither are close to 5’9”. Both of their MLB are 5’9” or shorter. If AC can throw over the top and wear down the middle of the defense they will walk through this one. I agree with the big coaching edge as well. Carter the last several years has managed to get the least out of his players.

Parker shouldn’t be a walk on at MTSU. Cole shouldn’t be a walk on at ETSU. Deuce went NAIA because he had no interest in paying to play. He had a PWO to UAB. Wanted no part of it. Personally, I don’t think the college kids should’ve gotten a extra year much less giving high school kids one.

He’s not the only one.

I would have liked to have seen Hampton come to Betsy.

I will agree with him having the big game experience. He played way better in the playoff game at Betsy last year than he did in the regular season game. You could really see the growth. Cannon does have the better arm but nowhere near the game experience. A lot of season left to play so I’m sure it will work itself out. Take it easy on the griz this week.

SH appeared to prefer to run the ball against Besty. I don’t know if that was their plan all along or if it just played out that way. From what I’ve seen SH only had 82 passing yards.

I wouldn’t expect much of a crowd from SH. Betsy outnumbered them 5-1 at least last Friday and the game was in Johnson City. I hate that the SH kids don’t have more support from such a large school/community.

The Betsy and Gville game will be a battle just as it’s supposed to be. From what I saw last night gville has enough weapons to make up for the Quillen kids parents calling the shots. I hate it for the Cannon kid and any kid getting the shaft cause they don’t have the “right” last name. Sadly it’s something that goes on everywhere. Some places worse than others. I’ve seen MANY examples of it here in Betsy.

This early in the season sloppy tackling is to be expected. A lot of teams don’t get to take people to the ground in practice and it usually shows up early on.

The last time Elizabethton scrimmaged DB there were so many fights the refs left. Honestly the scrimmage went a lot better without the refs.

That’s a shocking amount of points. Was it that the offenses were that good or the defenses were that bad?

According to the paper we had one more penalty yard than SH. Us with 112 and them with 111 I believe. The six opportunities to score inside the 5 and still couldn’t get it done. But what stuck out to me most was Betsy runs on and off the field. They run to the locker room at halftime. SH walked on and off and also walked to the locker room. That tells me all I need to know.

Betsy showed up on the field and in the stands. Proud of those young men tonight. Getting that 31st straight is the icing on the cake.

Tom Taylor will be streaming it but audio only. I don’t know that you will be able to watch a stream anywhere.

I believe game 1 will tell us a lot about both of these teams and the direction of their seasons. Everyone has heard about how many seniors SH has, but shouldn’t they have a lot of seniors every season given their enrollment? Betsy will have to replace three offensive linemen and the only Mr. Football winner in school history. If Betsy wins they will have a ton of momentum going into Rhea County. If things don’t go Betsy’s way we will see how they rebound and move forward.

I’ve rarely ever seen any SH people of here. On the Betsy side there will be a lot of new faces on the field. It will be kind of a flip flop from this game last season where SH was breaking in new kids.

Congratulations to Kodiak! I’ve been fortunate to watch him consistently the last three seasons and he is phenomenal.

My son played football from the age of five and started wrestling in the sixth grade. We viewed wrestling as a offseason training program since he didn’t play basketball. It not only made him better physically but also mentally. There is no where to hide on a wrestling mat. It created accountability. Seven years later my son is a five time state champion (2X football 3X wrestling). Wrestling made him a better football player and football made him a better wrestler. I would encourage anyone playing in the front seven to wrestle or at least give it a try.

After having been at the Elizabethton/Haywood game, if Haywood is the best the west has again this year the East side will walk away with it again. Regardless of which eastern team makes it.
