They will beat Cocke County and Central and probably not give up a point to them, unless Lamar lets them. Their defense is legit. They have playmakers all over the field to score on offense. I am curious on why you think people jumped the gun. If West does not get to the state championship game, they should fire Lamar Brown. This team is so loaded that the only person that can stop them is themselves.

After watching the West/Sevier County game, I just do not see how that is Sevier Co only loss. Seeing Halls athletes, I give them the advantage of Sevier Co. Not very much team speed and their offense is not very good at all.

The TSSAA may just let that game be a bye for west....

If this is the year DB has any chance to dethrone Maryville, then I want to see them handle JC this week. JC has a good qb and a stingy defense. IMO, if DB wants to win, then they have to jump on the pats early and often.

No matter what the amount is considered to be a drove, the mountaineers will be given the mercy rule in this one. West is the best team I have seen this season. The Mountaineers may be able to win out after this one, but they do not have a chance in this one.

I think Halls will beat Sevier County this week. I think the Freshman QB will be the difference maker. The Sevier County defense has played well against average teams at best. Against the only true offensive powerhouse, West put up 49 rather easily. Halls is too explosive on offense and Sevier County's offense will struggle to score any points.

I will be keeping my eye on this score on Friday. This game could be a really good game. DB lost last week in a close one, and Jeff County, since their close loss in week one, has been on fire. I am currently torn on who to pick to get the W.

IMO, this will not be close. Heritage still has not shown us anything. Cocke County and William Blount are good wins for their program, but they still are not on Central's level. If Heritage coach stays, I think they will eventually become a year in and out .500 team, depending on the schedule. But, Central will win by as much as they want to and be the 3rd seed in this district. Heritage will have to beat Halls if they want to go to the playoffs, but I do not see Halls losing to Heritage or Cocke County.

WestHigh, I love the sarcasm. West will name the score in this one. I think they are going to coast into the 1 seed in Region 2 and be playing for a Gold ball come December. West will only have competition in the regular season with Alcoa and Maryville. Other than that, they will have running clocks on everyone else on their schedule.

Was anyone at this game that could fill us in on what happened? I was like everyone else and expected Central to run away with this game. Smithee from 5stars said Sevier Countys defense is really good. Are they that good or is Central that bad?

This cant be an honest post. Have you ever seen Robertsville or Jefferson Middle athletes? I am not from Oak Ridge, but looking from the outside, they have a treasure trove of athletes. Gaddis is a great coach, he knows his stuff, but if the connections with players are not there, and the expectations became relaxed, you can have a year like this year. They were still in most of their games. One or two plays in each game and their record could have been flipped (i.e. a HB pass against Bearden). It is seen often with older coaches, they are not "player coaches" and they cannot relate to todays youth. I dont know the details, but it seems as if this was the case with Gaddis. The pieces are there, but you have to let CSC bring in coaches that can relate to the players and also know their Xs and Os. A great head coach surrounds himself with great position coaches. If Oak Ridge and CSC can do that, then they will be back to being a contender year in and year out from the east.

I think it will be interesting to see who CSC brings in on his staff. Is there any rumors of him trying to bring coaches with him from halls or any other knoxville schools? I believe these hires will play a BIG factor in how the turnaround process begins at Oak Ridge.

I think this will be a great game. It is probably going to be the championship game. However after watching both these teams on TV this year and seeing Knox West live last week, I am going with Knox West by 7. They have athletes that can cover Powell's receivers. I think that is the key to this game. Knox West is going to score points. They've scored over 100 in two games against a strong Central D. The key is Knox West defense getting pressure on Potts and forcing quick throws, pressures, or sacks while their athletes are in man coverage.

After watching these teams this year, I was surprised Sevier County beat Halls after there showing at Knox Central. I was also surprised that Central lost to West as they did. Can Halls and Sevier County pull the upset though? Daniel Boone is always a tough gritty team and I am sure they are this year as well. Any scouting report on the Blazers? Does anyone have any information about David Crockett, other than Prince Kollie is no longer there? I have not seen any Crockett fans on the T. I would ask for details about Mo West and Tennessee High, but I do not see a way that they can beat either Knox West or Knox Central.
