When we scheduled they were 5games we were worried. Y’all, WV, Hundon Dyersburg, and LC. I had a good friend of mine that went to the Dyersburg game and all he told me was Peabody better bring their hard hat and lunch pale to the Dyersburg game

We usually schedule Sheffield and BTW and both schools have found a way to not play before the season at some point. Superintendent Haney made the statement before this new scheduling cycle to not schedule Memphis teams anymore due to that matter. I hate it for the kids that practiced all week, Milan was gonna win by a bunch but this was a game to work on stuff and build off a great hard fought game against us in the first game

A 3rd round game at UTM (just in thought) since you’d have teams going home early and bounced would draw a huge number in that stadium

I would too. Definitely a playoff atmosphere. This game helped us no doubt, but I believe this game woke up what was gonna be a well oiled machine. I think WV represents 2A in the west, but that’s my opinion. Many of good football to be played

If this was a playoff game it would shatter the school attendance record and could make an argument for state record. This is an old rivalry game, dating back to the early 70’s. Westview kicked it to us pretty good in the early to mid 2000’s. Best WV matchup we had in the 2000’s was in the playoffs in 2007 I believe it was first round and ended 28-26. Hope to see this game stay on the schedule

I think LC and GC both have Covid. Let’s just run it back next week

Absolutely. Refs were bad for both teams no doubt. Shameful you have a crew as bad as that was for this game. We played with grit, and WV did too. Good luck, I’m sure the Chargers will be fine. Too much offense with many weapons

You can tell Don Coady is back on the sidelines for WV. Great addition for the chargers

Khalik almost had his helmet ripped off down on the goal line and they had that holding call called and you’re right. It is what it is. Westview in my opinion goes to Chattanooga, Simpson and his receivers have a great connection. Best passing attack I’ve seen since TCA with Kyle Akin a few years back

I knew when we scheduled this game it could go either way. I believe Huntingdon in that region will be their toughest test. If that defense is opportunistic then they win the close games, if the defense comes out shuts everything down then it’s over by halftime

I think if we come out and play a very physical game I like our chances. We will have contain Simpson and the deep threat receiver i seen off their highlights. They will score their points

They were a solid squad, up tempo game throughout. I didn’t really know much about them going in this game, but it didn’t take long to realize what they had. We made good adjustments at the half, they didn’t handle the pressure good in spots. They had an answer for everything we did. Good luck to the Pioneers. Two schools right down the road from each other representing at the glass house. Both teams have had fine success and have made Gibson County proud

I made the trip down, they were quick and had a solid inside player that could block shots and crash the boards. Been 16 years since the lady tide has been to the Boro, community is proud no matter what happens next week. Congrats to the Lady Pioneers as well!

Can’t argue with this post. Ever since we have moved in the same district with them some have acted a little out of hand in the bigger games sometimes. Great team, but just have some poor sports in the crowd

We as fans do find some of that stuff in a bad class. For you to feel that way is totally normal as I would be lying to say I haven’t felt that way before lol. I’ve seen it before many of times from different fans in other sports. I know where you’re coming off with that comment. Greenfield is a class program and is well respected around this area. There will always be fans that over do it. It was a good game between two good programs and Greenfield will definitely be back in that moment as they have for several years.

First time doing this since 2005. You look at our team and just see a tough group that plays hard. Much to respect to Greenfield, but comments saying you hope we get blown away is in fact classless. Not saying we beat the GC’s or whomever if we make it to the Boro. Fact is these girls deserve this and have made everyone proud by doing something that hasn’t been done in a while

I agree, I’ve said it all year you can’t really get rid of a coach unless the program has just not been getting results. Coaches need a spring and scrimmages to get the team going and if there is new faces in key spots then it could take those kids all year to get going with out a full summer into the first game

Yes I should’ve added that in there. I’m sure a lot of the schools do it right with temp checks, and no doubt GC does it right out there as well. I don’t agree with saying that the 10 limit thing and not making another mask mandate though. People are more prone to get it from going out and eating someplace else than at a High school basketball game. The kids deserve to play, and the parents and family, friends deserve to be apart of that experience

I see your argument. I will say this, I loved the way Trenton brought probably the biggest crowd if not then 2nd biggest to Cookeville, but I just think TSSAA did a bad job with the attendance that weekend. No space seating or anything. I’m not talking down on our community support in any way. I’m just stating TSSAA didn’t handle that weekend the correct way The statement serves with this I say let the kids play it out. If you have to limit fans on coming then do it, allow the parents to come. Basketball needs to be played and imo should’ve finished out last season

Well said, we have lost several old games that we used to enjoy moving up and down in classifications over the years. Our big 3 rival games were GC’ Milan, and Humboldt. We get Humboldt and Milan, which Humboldt isn’t how the used to be. Same with other schools wanting to find wins, and as a coach that’s smart to do. I think now many coaches and schools don’t play a rival because they know they can’t win, and that just teaches that you are willing to back down from a challenge. Finding a win isn’t bad, but not playing a team that the kids past family members played against kills tradition in the program

Always possible lol. Ensworth hasn’t had the success the past couple years like they used to have so you know they will out everything to get the best players there

Right. The 07 team we had was a very good mix, but wouldn’t have competed with Alcoa. They were just that good
