Shelbyville certainly has a very good club...........haven't seen Blackman........Brothers will be a big hill to climb.

i agree that Riverdale can't overlook them........Coach Pickle always gets the most out of his team...................i do believe however that riverdale is far and away the best team in the region

i like that too riverdaleman.............we play ours on tues/wed in 8aaa everyweek.......each team has one week off thru the season since we have an odd number of teams

nothing about the district system is simple...........for example rutherford county has 6 aaa schools and they are in two districts...............wilson county has two schools and they are in separate districts..................like i said before we have two 90 mile trips in our district from coffee county(lawrence county and columbia).......just seems to me to be a big difference in an 8 team district and a 4 team district............not saying i have all the answers to this it just seems odd

good idea.................question: why is there such inequity in the number of teams in the districts throughout the state?...............i know that teams change classes from time to time and that new schools open from time to time...........please don't tell me about travel since we have teams in our district that are at least 90 miles apart..........i don't ask this because i have a beef just curious how come it's this way

obviously in LL the zone needs to be more liberal..........consistent but more liberal i really don't think i worded my question very well at all........ i guess what i was trying to ask was if the outside corner is bigger than the inside........we have all watched maddux and glavine make a living 2-3 inches off the plate for years.... also does it matter whether there are two strikes concerning widening the zone...... i am right there with what you said about pitchers hitting spots......i have preached that to mine for years

i think LL is a good proving ground........and i could see how if you called LL one night and high school the next it would be an adjustment. especially on the curveball.........i believe calling the curveball is the most challenging part of calling behind the plate.....in high school you see so many different speeds and breaks on breaking balls........imho blue really has to know what is and isn't a strike there...... another question for all you guys who call.............do you expand the zone? and if so do you expand it more with two strikes......... i have really enjoyed posting on this thread thanks to all you guys for your candid and honest comments

i am sure you are right if you do every single game at every level with three.......my suggestion would be for district games only

i think if you will read the question i asked and jody's answer you will understand the context of my comment.....i have been around this game all my life and have even done some umpiring............my comment was intended to show an appreciation for a very candid and honest answer to a question i think alot of fans just might like to ask blue.......

at least in district games...........i have watched all the games at the 8aaa tourney so far as well..... even though some of the coaches and fans might not agree i think the games have been pretty well officiated.........3 man crews definitely give the guys a better opportunity to see the plays better.........

too bad there are umpires who are scabbing the strike period.........

it was a great game............tough way to lose for lincoln co..........up 5-4 with two outs in the bottom of the 7th and runners on 1st and 2nd an error by the third baseman loaded the bases......then with a full count the hitter for tullahoma hits a swinging bunt and lincoln can't get an out allowing the tying run to score.........then the winning run scored on a walk.

sorry i have no dog in this fight but.........................any "coach" that throws his players stuff in the trash and kicks them out of the locker room is anything but a nice guy.................that just ain't cool
