  1. Fitty four, last night told a lot! I knew what the outcome was going to be but still hard to believe. LC only plays one region deciding game each year. You were correct and last night was it. Lol I called it as well. Was hoping against hope but I knew as well. You actually called their record before I did. Again, LC only won one game, beat only one team on their entire schedule that had/has a winning record. As mentioned earlier, that team at that time was decimated with injuries. Think about that; they only had one win against a team which had a winning record!
  2. Lewis mailed it in after (maybe even before) the Summertown game. Knew it was going to be a blowout by early in the fourth. Was wondering if next weeks Cascade game will be closer.
  3. Cascade. Lewis County (perennial region paper champions) began the season as they do each year ranked in the top 10, reached 7-1 and did as I said they would do; decided to mail it in after Summertown put it on ‘em. Cascade (or any other team they would have faced) wins by three touchdows at least. Hohenwald goes from 7-1 to 7-4.
  4. Wasn’t just correct on it being a formality, was exactly on the money! Doesn’t sound like it was even a game!
  5. Who does the 7-3 LC Panthers catch as the third place team from R5 for the first round of the playoffs? Is it Loretto, now?
  6. Has anyone else noticed that out of nine games played thus far this year, Lewis County has only won one game against a team with a winning record? I'm sure after tonight it will be only one win against a team with a winning record out of ten games played but still, only one win against a team with a winning record, all season.
  7. How are the Zebras in/at Riverside? I know late in the season strange things happen in Hohenwald on Friday nights. If this was in Hohenwald, on a cold rainy night, they would still be favored and just might win! Now that it’s an away game for them, I just don’t know if they will get that “home field advantage” or if it will exist for Riverside.
  8. They wont. That Summertown loss has most likely damaged their psyche too much. I would have liked to have seen two 8-1 teams vie for the region myself. If it had been a more “traditional” year for Hohenwald in that they had scheduled some lower tiered program to play instead of Fayetteville for that week, that just might have made a difference. Still though, it is possible that Riverside lays an egg and Hohenwald wins. That would make things very interesting. You would go from 7-1 to 7-4, to 8-2 then 9-2 to 9-3. If RS does lay an egg, that first round playoff game against Richland looks very favorable! I hope Riverside lays an egg Friday. So, I guess, I’m not necessarily hoping Hohenwald wins Friday night but rather Riverside loses! Come on Riverside, lose Friday night!
  9. Same song and dance, just different year. Swapped Forrest with Summertown and wahla, have a loss this time. Riverside gonna get the W this year as well. And, I agree with the scheduling comment, although they did schedule Fayetteville. If they lose to Riverside tonight, look for another district realignment. That is going to make two losses in a row to them back to back and this one is going to cost the region championship. Things gotta change because of that. Bet Riverside will be swapped out with Richland LOL. Of all the crazy things, RS will prolly be placed in the region with Chapel Hill. What's so funny is just about anybody would be 11-0 with their traditional schedule!!! LOL Yeah, regular season paper champions. But, we gotta hear 10-0 bla bla bla but not this year. More like 7-4! For sure last year! All they have to do is beat Riverside Friday and they get to claim it again. The region championship seems to always boil down to only having to beat one decent to mediocre team each year! I hope the town doesn't disintegrate this year! Maybe start a weekly demolition derby contest? This year will be no exception. Gotta play quality opponents to know what it is going to be like in the playoffs! Gonna be the same way again this year, T. Yeah, and enjoy our yearly playoff "outing". Pun intended. It's simple, actually. Play a schedule of terrible teams and have a couple of buddies place you into weak regions with out of region games against terrible teams and terrible 1A teams. Same song and dance. Just a different year. Again, same song and dance. I do believe you are correct, T. Looks like they have their one loss coming Friday night, just as you called it 11 months ago. Will face a weak opponent in the first round then I bet bounced by the second. Not this year, General. I am willing to bet they don't begin next season ranked either. The word is out that they are a "fake" team. That's why they haven't been ranked since what, the first week or two of the season? I will answer my own question. That answer is simple, if they do, they will not have an inflated W/L ratio. These posts are from the playoff game 11 months ago against, who else, Riverside. Don't get me wrong, I am for Hohenwald but Riverside is a decent, talented team who has faced some stiff competition this season. The only real thing that has changed from 11 months ago till now is that Hohenwald scheduled Fayetteville (which would give many in 3A to 6A fits) and let Summertown (a girls basketball school) beat them. To me, last weeks Summertown is reminiscent of last years Chapel Hill game but with a different outcome. Same song and dance, just different year. Two weeks and those balls will be bouncing in that gym.
  10. Have not seen Lewis County ranked, at all, since this poll and, this was before the Summertown loss at a record of 7-1!
  11. Gotta be worried about LC every year come playoff time! Forrest ended the season at 6-4. Undefeated Hohenwald beat a 6-4 team to win the region. Thank about that for a minute. Anybody guess what my prediction is for this year, as well? Lewis County only played two teams the entire year with winning records! That's it, only two! Out of 12 games, 12 total games, they only played two teams with winning records! One ended their season with a 7-5 record and the other with a 9-4 record. But, the 9-4 team made it to the third round, with three losses. Hohenwald can't make it to the third round with zero (0) losses!! #regularseasonpaperchampions Won 7-0 over a four loss team to win the region. SMH And, this was last year!
  12. Now we are looking at heading into the playoffs with a 7-3 record after Friday night to play the third ranked team from Region 5 (I think). Not looking good and looking more like going from a 7-1 to a 7-4 record. Anyone think LC could roll into the playoffs with an 8-2 mark and playing the 4th ranked team from the other region?
  13. Woody, you can go ahead and take out that adverb "probability" on this one. However, I am pulling for them well. Though highly unlikely, if they win they will most likely play Richland in the first and pick up a weak team for the second round. I'd like to see them make it to the third round!
  14. Heading into this week, who are we looking at as far as placings in the Chapel Hill region? More specifically, who is going to be third in the region?
  15. I am truly surprised, maybe not shocked but surprised Summertown beat them! That has messed the entire season up! I was wanting two one loss teams to via for the region and Hohenwald to win so that they would have a chance to make it to the third round! How do you lose to a girls basketball schools whos football program hasn't even existed a decade? Anyway, I have been calling it for four years now, T, and not getting much love for doing so!
  16. This is four years ago but it is just as relevant this week as it was four years ago! LC plays (typically) one game a year where the competition is comparable or better and they lose. Riverside will destroy them this week. 7-1 to 7-4 Did not know that Summertown was that good. Figured Fayetteville was what they are so chalked that loss up rather easily. I guess one could say this thread has been revisited after the second round (of '17). It's because they got beat. Still relevant today (and this week) as it was four years ago! Still, relevant today as four years ago! Nobody on here believed me when I told 'em Columbia Academy was going to win and it would be known in the 4th! Just like I'm stating Riverside will be putting it away this week early in the 4th. Hohenwald just does not play a schedule to help win. They do however play a schedule to facilitate a winning record. 7-1 to 7-4 Just another post to prove my point for the past four years. Anytime they play a decent to better team, they typically lose. Just like this Friday night, and most likely the first round of the playoffs in two weeks. Another example of what that program is really like. Every year! Will next year be the year for the third round? Just as with the past four years, we already know this year ain't it! Bumping a four year old thread with similarities not only of this year, this week but the past four years. Evidently, CA was a decent to good team four years ago and, as we all have come to realize, when Hohenwald plays those types of teams, they get beat. 7-1 to 7-4.
  17. I would much rather us take on Nolensville in the first round instead of Wilson. I think that is a much better matchup as well!
  18. Waverly all the way. @Swarms guys just don’t have it this year.
