  1. Now, I could be wrong but I don’t ever recall typing his name but, if I did, it was not in the same vein as when I was relating it to the T$$AA buddies or easy scheduling. I have specifically made a point not to name names, kids or coaches, because that’s too personal. You may have me confused with a former poster. I will give you the point of relentlessly beating a dead horse and, have been completely excessive about it. I’ll probably continue to call attention to it, just as I have either in this post or the other one. No one is looking for apologies, man. Just keep the banter clean.
  2. I agree, 100%! I have never called out a single kid nor have I ever been negative towards a single kid! Not only that but, in the same manner, I have never spoken negatively about a coach either! I have documented this before and many times, as well. Now, if you guys want to banter about old girlfriends or claim that I’m feminine or even the history of my back to back championship game team, it’s all part of the banter we all engage in. I enjoy the banter, very much; as much as I enjoy delivering it. However, man, when you and the others start getting personal or strait up call people stupid and posting GIF’s such as what’s been posted, that’s carrying it too far. Just chill out on some of that stuff before he begins shutting it down.
  3. BPM, seriously, the "she" comments and banter is no big deal but those type of GIF's should not be in this type of forum. It's almost the same as using curse words and, the "stupid" comment as you just used is not proper either, man. C'mon.
  4. Guys, don't go there with this. It may be funny but not for this type of forum.
  5. Oh now, @tradertwoyou know I do possess some football acumen. But, if I can, I will throw that jab in there, however slight, if I can. I'm still not sure if my point was fully understood in the above post but, this is what makes football so interesting and why it is played from the high school to college level. So, for the next two days and one hour and fifteen minutes, as it relates to this game, is Loretto that good or, is Hohenwald (Back) to the Hohenwald ways of the past 30 years? If Hohenwald wins Friday, Loretto is top dog and quite possibly legit (at least for this year) but, if Hohenwald loses, it doesn't really speak well for the new coaching regime. However, until the season plays out, we won't really know about Loretto. I do have a question though; since neither Riverside nor Chapel Hill is on their schedule (especially region schedule) will Loretto be scooted on over to a region further West, especially if they are dominant the rest of the season? Now, another hypothesis, if you will indulged me; if Chapel Hill doesn't improve (General has been awfully hard on the coach and results the past several years) will they be placed back into the same region as Hohenwald? I'm pretty sure we will not see Riverside on their schedule including region for the foreseeable future! Post Script: Two trips to the 'ship back to back!
  6. Loretto is having a banner year and deserve recognition so, don't sweat it Orn. I am a happy fan! My team has been to the 'ship the past two years (in a row). These other posters are fans of participation trophies and paper championships and are just jealous.
  7. Last year, Hohenwald had a new coach and only lost to (actual) power house Fayetteville during the regular season. However, they actually beat the only one, good/above average team (Riverside) on their regular season schedule last year (Fayetteville really doesn't count for this argument as they were a legit power house). That Hohenwald coach is now gone and, Hohenwald played a good/above average team and was beaten by them last week. Is Hohenwald back to their traditional play against a weak schedule and go 50/50 against the only decent game/team on the schedule? Again, they were beaten last week by a good/above average Loretto team. Now, here is an interesting point. The new coach was an assistant coach under the long term coach and actually played in the system of weak schedules. Is that the difference between last years Hohenwald team versus this years one loss team and the 9-1, 8-2 and/or 10-0 early playoff round bounces? Personally, I am not certain but, I will surmise this; if Mt. Pleasant does beat Hohenwald then we will know two things: (1) Mt. Pleasant is actually a good to above average team or (2) Hohenwald is back to the status quo of inflated W/L records and early playoff exits. If Hohenwald wins against Mt. Pleasant then we will know one of two things. Either Mt. Pleasant is not very good or that Loretto is actually BACK! Because of Mt. Pleasant being undefeated thus far this year and another poster saying they have several back coupled with Hohenwald losing to Loretto, I'm willing to bet the safe money will be on Mt. Pleasant, for this game.
  8. Well, let’s see, here. So far this season, Milan’s opponents (that they have played thus far) are a collective 7-17 on the year. Over the past decade, they have been to the ‘ship just once and Alcoa slammed ‘em pretty hard. Other than that, Milan has played weak teams in weak brackets until they finally play decent opponents around the third round. Then they get beat. Have to give it to Milan, they do make it further in the playoffs than Hohenwald traditionally did. If Sharp wasn’t able to get Columbia’s schedule “fixed” in just one year, I doubt, as an assistant, he can do it there. But, then again, looks like Milan doesn’t need help in that department. If they ever do, I’m sure he can pull some strings.
  9. Well, going back to 2014, that’s only one less than Hohenwald so, compared to them, that has to be good. Now, Hohenwald set the stage last year as they actually won a second round playoff game on their way to the quarterfinals.
  10. I do recall a couple of those Butch Toner teams back in the day. Seems they had a set of twins, one of which was a good RB. That was back before the public private split and when Brentwood Academy was winning everything. Didn’t they beat everyone but them and Hohenwald?
  11. Undefeated on the season thus far and coming off of a major thrashing of number six and formerly undefeated power house Lewis County, it is safe to say that Loretto is BACK! Can't wait to see this weeks rankings when they are released! Good luck to the Mustangs the rest of the season!
  12. Now way Loretto beats undefeated and sixth ranked Hohenwald! Just no way! Hohenwald is here, in this position regarding wins and losses, every year and Loretto is usually hoping for help getting in the playoff, by this time of the year. Just checked; Loretto has not had a winning season since 2012; over a decade ago. Ironically though, Lewis County was not on their schedule that year.
  13. I don’t know about all of these posts, y'all. I mean, Hohenwald just beat two big time undefeated programs in back to back weeks and three undefeated programs in the last four games. Loretto hasn’t been much since Toner was there plus, Hohenwald is ranked sixth this week. I did notice Riverside is not on their schedule nor is Chapel Hill. Is that PURE Academy the replacement team for either of those two schools?
  14. I hear you @Riverside80. They just seem to run out of steam by the second round of the playoffs each year. Maybe if they didn't schedule so many hard games through the season they would have enough to get past the second round. But, then again, they did last year, I believe.
  15. They'll probably beat 'em bad; maybe 50 to 10, or so.
  16. Yeah, well it's not like we were playing a 1-9 single A team like that Collinwood team from over there or an 0-50 Spring Hill team they have scheduled in the past. Giles may be 3A but, everyone knows they are formidable even in 4A and, to add to your point, I think Giles routinely schedules 2/3 5A teams each year. So, in reality, your point is invalid.
  17. Curious to other’s thoughts on this matchup, particularly Giles County fans. Not necessarily a rivalry of years past but there is much history here. Now, we are losing from last year’s and the year before championship game teams. Not going to be plug and play as before. However, Giles has been to the ‘ship a couple of times and won one, many years ago. We are 5A with Giles being 3A. Naturally, we should out talent them but I know almost nothing about them. I still feel this should make a good game. Who has what and why?
  18. Easy there little chucky. If I knew then I would not have been asking questions; hence all of the question marks “?” in my previous mentioned post. But, since you asked, no, until your post, I didn’t think it could be something in his life (other than football problems) to bounce from a highly successful (HOF) carrier at Hohenwald to Columbia and then bounce after only one season. However, YOUR question begs to the issue there is something alluding to “something else”. Care to elaborate?
  19. Oh now, trader, I’m just jostling with you for the “banter”. It’s the offseason, man. Not much else going on.
  20. Was he not able to get out of contracts with competitive teams? Administration not allow that to happen? @BIGPURPLEMACHINEhe going over there to resurrect the once proud but downtrodden Milan team to get them back to the Ship? Been three years since Covid gifted y’all your last shot. Gotta be tough losing all those games. Why didn’t @tradertwo let us know this was going to happen. The wheels really came off the wagon during that Giles game last year. This truly comes at no surprise! On a side note about Hohenwald, and one simply cannot make this Jerry Springer/Maury Povich stuff up! Word on the street as @tradertwo puts it, is that the former director of schools down there retired last year because the school board was not going to renew his contract. So, in effect, and I’m just guessing here, it had something to do with Sharp. Either the director was not able to keep Sharp and people were ticked and that caused the contract issue or Sharp left because he didn’t have his primary backer. (Not sure who left first) Anyway, the crazy thing is, the word going around is the former director is running for school board on the platform that if elected, he will fire the new director of schools (his replacement)! I would say something like “you can’t make this stuff up” but coming from a town that takes pride in a football program that schedules little ole 1A teams like Collinwood and Waynesboro (but only when they are down) and basketball schools such as Unionville or zero for sixty big bad 5A Spring Hill, what does one expect? What are the odds the former director of schools is elected to the school board, runs the new director out, comes back and hires Sharp back? Will this be an ESPN 30 for 30?
  21. Dire, indeed! It should not be that difficult to find a coach for them, at all. Really, who could not win there? Unless something changes, if you are their coach, you should have a high winning percentage year in and year out. If the standard maintains, you will be in the weakest 2A conference in the state year after year. Then, if you schedule your out of region games with losing and/or basketball programs, you will garner winning seasons year after year. This includes making the playoffs year after year. Shoot, if it didn’t mean a major pay cut for me, I’d throw my hat in there!
  22. The way that their region(s) have been set up for the last 30+ years, it seems as any coach running any offense can win there. Lack of competition makes winning easy. Yes, for the past three decades with the exception of a couple/few years in the late 2000’s, they have always been placed in a very weak region with (maybe) one competitive team and, if they beat that team, it was typically barely. Add in winless, weak single A and girls basketball schools to fill out the out of region schedule and you have a recipe for any coach to have success there. Shhhh, don’t remind them of that. It proves all of those championships are paper championships!
  23. Does anyone know the reason the long term coach left Hohenwald to begin with? The real reason?
