Numbers mean absolutely nothing...it's about developing players...period. I bet there are A schools that can easily beat 3A teams...only a small percent of your student body play sports in the first place.

Cookeville is a funny duck kind of place...like Lebanon...lots of growth but small town political bs. That said the game has passed Bray by.

Memphis hires terrible coaches...or has in the last 20 years. Faragi Phillips is the cream of the crop down there.

Hillwood is a rotten school...don't let the community fool you...none of those kids go there...athletes bussed in...no connection to the community...Metro has sucked for the last 30 years. Maplewood a couple of years ago has been the only bright spot. Old Pete will really have to call on Coach Meyers old saying of making it the big time wherever you are...even when it sucks.

I wouldn't even think about living in Williamson Co on 50 grand a year.

The biggest thing to overcome is being in the same region with the schools in the Boro.

Wondering if he will keep players there...I think the coach at CCCHS has gotten a few from Tullahoma. Welch's biggest challenge will be overcoming that, football and baseball...but I'm sure he looked at that before taking the job. There is talent there...just not sure what the dedication level is...but if someone taps into that the sky is the limit in that district.

You and I probably don't but others do...it is a sad fact of life. I especially like the belief that a certain race can't coach another race because they don't "understand" us. It's backward and stupid...and racist.

That might be the reason I said he wouldn't get the job...even if he wanted it.

That certain jobs go to certain races...common practice I think. They have had that policy in Fayette Co for some time now.
