  1. ehh. Records for games and the weight room are hard to judge. Prior to sometime in the early 2000's Loudon's record keeping for stats was poor at best. Also, The '14 team had cupcake schedule and so does this years team. With the exception of 1 or 2 games, the rest of them are a walk in the park.
  2. Just by seeing Seuoyah play, I would say Hixon wins. It's hard to tell though since neither has played a common opponent.
  3. I'm undecided on how this game will go. I imagine Signal and Redbank is a rivalry game, so sometimes the game is maybe closer than it should be. If Loudon continues to play like they have, they'll be fine. The only thing that worries me is the 2 hour bus ride.
  4. I'm a little biased about Loudon, but I agree. This is easily the best Loudon team since 2014 and they are probably better than that team was. I imagine Signal will put up a good fight, but I think Loudon's Offense will be hard to stop and the Defense will be hard to attack. I do think Loudon and Redbank will rematch in the qtr's for a chance to play Alcoa.
  5. I think Sweetwater get this win. Unfortunately Brainerd has only managed to score 6 points this season. Would like to see this team bounce back though. When they played Loudon they seemed to have a few athletic kids and a big line. They look to be well disciplined and that will pay off long term.
  6. Haven't heard this. Will be interesting to see what players sit out the first quarter or two. Should be easy to see who they are.
  7. Anybody know the Sequoyah players to watch? Don't know anything about them except for their record and the scores. I assume they will have big linemen and a decent back like they always do. I think the Redskins win easy, just wanted to know if anyone could cause us problems.
  8. I've not seen Oneida play this year, but I have seen Greenback. I can't imagine either team has a huge advantage in this one. Greenback doesn't have as many offensive threats as they did the last few seasons but still have enough to create big plays. If Oneida can match Greenback at the line of scrimmage, this game could easily be similar to the Meigs game. I say 35 - 21 Greenback.
  9. Not really sure why people think this will be a blow out. Neither team has really done anything to this point and both teams struggle to score, judging by the first 3 games. At the Jamboree it looked like Central had the bigger kids but that doesn't mean anything. I see this game coming down to the wire. Maybe a on or two score game. I guess we will find out tomorrow night.
  10. Coaching change was the reason though. A bad coaching change at that. Loudon also has recovered from those down years by going 8-4 in 2017 and 3-0 so far this year. Polk has only had 1 winning season (last year) since 2013. I'm not trying to argue who has the worst down years, was just seeing if anybody had any insight as to why Polk hasn't rebounded like teams usually do.
  11. I was thinking the same thing. The extra points have been fine, with the exception of the block at Greenback, but they have tried field goals several times and they have had issues every time. Bad snaps, bad holds, bad kicks. It looks like a different problem every time.
  12. Just seems like this cycle has lasted way too long. I also thought it was strange for them to go 9-3 one year and 0-10 the next. Oh well. I don't think either team in this game will have an advantage. I imagine it'll be close in the 4th quarter.
  13. Can someone explain to me what happened to Polk County? I remember Loudon playing them in 2009 in the playoffs for a chance to go play Alcoa. Loudon won that game but Polk was just about as tough of an opponent you could find in the Chattanooga area. Looking at past schedules it looks like they went from a 9-3 record in 2013 to 0-10 in 2014. What in the world happened? I mean, Loudon, Etowah/Englewood Central, Sweetwater, Etc. have up and down years but Polk completely fell off the map instantly. I only see 1 winning season since 2013. Hard to believe a school like Polk County can be so bad.
  14. It'll be interesting to see who comes out on top in this one. Maybe the Redskins will put Sequoyah away early enough for me to go up the road and catch the end of this one.
  15. Redskins looked good last week but at times made a few mistakes on offense. Had to attempt a field goal (missed) after getting the ball on the Brainerd 30 and couldn't punch it in later after having it 1st an goal from inside the 5. I think the Redskins get this issues fixed this week and get a little more scoring than last. Defensively, the Redskins look great so far although d really hasn't been tested in the last 2 games. I don't know much about Sequoyah but I could see this game easily getting to 42-0.
  16. Brainerd is not very good. From what I have heard, they haven't forced a punt this year. They also don't seem to be able to score as they have only have 6 points so far. Nothing against Brainerd, they just haven't done well in the first two games. Last year Loudon wasn't any good. I imagine Brainerd will some day be the better team, and maybe they are now. I'm judging from the first two weeks this season. Loudon appears to be much improved from last year.
  17. Howard beat this Brainerd team easily. I don't see this game being any problem for the Redskins. Only issue may be playing down to Brainerd's level since Loudon is coming off two big wins to start the season. I'll say Loudon by 28.
  18. I can see this game going either way. If Greenback hasn't gotten over the beating they took last week, it could be trouble. Hopefully they bounce back and this is a better game for them. This game will be another big challenge for Greenback.
  19. Loudon's Offense looked bad last night. Didn't do the little things right. LC played hard but had no business being within 14 points at the end. I also didn't understand the no huddle at the end of the game with 2 minutes left. Run the ball, chew clock and finish the game. I would've felt better if they were able to run the ball in at the end instead of throwing it. At the end of the day, a win is a win and nobody got hurt at the end.
  20. Every Lenoir City person I know says LC isn't good. They usually let you know if they think they can win but it has been quiet all week. I think Loudon wins by as much as they want.
