Didn’t they return the whole team? I thought I read where almost every player returned. They have underachieved if that’s true.

Looked those up. You had a team those years with a lot of losses. You were 14-12 during those two seasons. I doubt very seriously your 2023 is on that level. I’m figuring you will be very similar to your team last season.

No, but they have to go to Gordonsville. I’d pick your boys in that game after the way last season ended. Then they would come to SP round 2. That would be the second one.

I expect SP/Gordonsville to play again this season. I’m sure it will be another tough game like always.

The only time SP seems to play Greenback is in a semifinal game which means that’s one of your loaded teams. I’d say that has something to do with the record. Coalfield has came out to play us in the semifinals several times and most of those years Greenback was really down. Greenback hasn’t made it to the semifinals when they weren’t pretty much loaded if I’m thinking about it correctly.

Why is Gordonsville not ranked? They are routinely a top 10 team. I’m sure they are this year as well.

Clay wins big in this one. They likely have two more losses coming this season but it won’t be this week.

This should be a pretty good game. I’d give Coalfield the advantage though but a few scores.

Gordonsville should handle Bledsoe.

This is just round 1 for home field in the quarterfinals it looks like.

It’s Saturday morning so it’s obviously emptied out now.

At least I know I’m not seeing things. I thought it should have been Pirate ball right there.

You don’t have to be bias. Ray Charles could have seen that ball hit the kid.

That should have had a TD pass in the first half. #2 had that kid beat by 5 yards but the pass was way overthrown. Was it #2 that lost the fumble when we were driving too?

From my spot in the stands they got a break on one of them. The ball hit the kid with SP recovering at the goal line but they gave MTCS the ball. That one still confuses me.

Gordy and the Rockets… could be a decent game for awhile. Gordonsville wins 28-14.

You’re starting to sound like you’re from Gordonsville now. Should be a great game and make both teams better for the playoff run.

MASE has more overall talent than any team in 1A or 2A. It’s not hard to figure that much out.

I’m still stunned that SP beat NJ like a red headed step child. I figured we would win but it’s hard to believe we’re really 62 points better than them. They had some big kids.

I don’t think SP should move up to 2A. They only won 6 gold balls in their history. They have lost more often than not. I enjoyed the Franklin County game. I think it was a good challenge. This MTCS game coming up will be a great challenge as well. I heard SP tried to schedule Peabody and some others. As for NJ.. That program won’t stay down long. That is a good game to keep on the schedule.
