I didn’t realize that. It will be tough to win if City gets pushed around. I saw their speed at our place last year. They had a jr rb that was the fastest kid I saw in our region including our team last year.

You could be right. Cornersville has great speed and their kids are tough. I know the crowd will be strong. Hoping for a good game and health for all players.

Haha....are you saying the refs were against MC and threw flags that were not real so City would win? Always the refs fault or something else when you lose. According to the local paper, there were 13 accepted penalties against MC, 10 against City. Not much of a difference. City had a touchdown called back for a penalty. On a separate drive , City had a big run inside the 10 called back for a penalty. I would say those were both significant calls against City. Blaming the refs is a losers mentality. Sometimes you just lose.

Richland has speed in the backfield and good size on the line. Find a little more in the passing game and y’all will have it rolling. Tonight was my first time at that field. Good atmosphere and crowd.

If it finishes like this and Fayetteville, MC and Cornersville all have 1 loss, how do they decide 1st, 2nd and 3rd?

I agree we better be ready. I hear Richland is a much improved team from last year. City has played pretty well the last 2 weeks but we still have things we need to do better. Hope they can continue to improve this week and grind out a win but I know Richland will be tough at home.

Part of me hopes so because that would likely mean we are in the quarterfinals finals and if we don’t go I would root for the kids at Moore Co. They seem like really good kids despite the actions I have seen from some (not all) of their fans. Part of me does not want to see Moore again because we were one play away from losing. I guess at the end of the day, a rematch in the playoffs would be great for the region and hopefully would be another good game. I really do think the kids are great on both teams and enjoy the game as they should. It is unfortunate when we as adults take it too far and mess it up for them.

Not butthurt. Only people whining and making excuses are from the other side. Also, we don’t choose from the whole county. We get whatever kids enroll at City. That’s my last comment on it. Feel free to keep trying to come up with more excuses though.

Moore Co will be there too. They showed real grit in the 2nd half. I don’t think there is anyone like SP in the west but there are probably 4 or 5 teams that have a chance to be really good. It will depend on who is healthy and who is dialing it in come playoff time.

#5 for MC is amazing. Great passer, great runner, great decision maker. He converted one 4th and long by breaking about 5 tackles.

Yes. Moore County is a really good team. MC by 21.

If Lincoln Co has a dip in enrollment, they put them in Lincoln Central Academy (online school for the district) and didn’t count them on their high school numbers. I wouldn’t have thought they would do that but for some reason I see Lincoln Central Academy turned in an enrollment to TSSAA when they don’t even have sports. I may be wrong. It just looks odd and I heard they were putting kids under their online school that would not count against enrollment for high school. We’ll see when the numbers come out.

Easy to do? I don’t remember anyone saying anything was going to be easy for Fayetteville in this game. Saying it after the fact sounds like you are trying to make excuses.

What a great game! I know MC wanted the win but I think these are 2 top 10 teams in 1A. MC looks like they will be fine and I am guessing they will win out. They showed a lot of heart battling back from 16 down at half. #5 is a great player. Fayetteville has gotten better every game this year with the exception of Huntland. I expect them both to have a chance to make some noise in the playoffs.

If a school were to create an online academy and say it is a separate school in their school district, then funnel all the virtual kids there so they don’t count on their enrollment for this classification cycle, is that something the TSSAA would allow?
