  1. Duncan is a big loss, but they have a senior post (Ferrell I think) who is really good. Also, they will have 3 sophomores that I have seen play for Tullahoma tide that are talented enough to make a big difference. If that’s all they got then they may not be able play at the pace they did last year, but I don’t think they are in rebuilding mode yet.
  2. From what I have seen from the options the TSSAA is considering, none currently impact basketball. Everything is planned to be business as usual after August 29th. Of course, that is all subject to change.
  3. I’m surprised how much everyone thinks Tullahoma will step back. I know they lost talent, but they still have a lot of good ball players. Lincoln county has the talent to be in the top 2, but I’m not sure if they can pass tullahoma or Lawrence county. Columbia gets everyone back. They may be able to upset a couple at the top.
  4. Agree. I think all 6 have a legitimate shot to win it. I would say Cornersville is the favorite.
  5. Anybody know what type of talent Shelbyville or Columbia will have this year?
  6. I agree it is premature to make decisions in June about something that is 2 months away. No one knows with certainty where we will be at that time. Perhaps the numbers go way down. Maybe we learn something new about the virus that makes it easier to combat. Maybe they develop a vaccine. Or maybe it is really bad and we have to shut everything down again. The bottom line is no one knows. If we do not prepare to be ready to play, then we probably cannot even if we get the chance. Let’s prepare for and hope for the best and choose the best course of action when we get there.
  7. What is Moore co going to look like now with coaching change?
  8. I don’t think any of us know what’s going to happen including those in charge. There is pressure from those who want normalcy and pressure from those who think this will continue to cause major and long term health issues. I think we will have a better idea as we watch how they handle the cases popping up now that they are practicing again. My best guess is they will try to start late and hope for the best. I hope we play and get back to normal as soon as possible. But like everyone else, it’s just a guess and an opinion. Don’t think we’ll know anything concrete until at least August.

I don’t know about 3 but I did hear that Cascade had a freshman going to Webb.
  10. We could discuss the details and argue about who gets the most blame but at the end of the day the TSSAA decided Fayetteville was wrong and that resulted in 6 forfeits. That’s over now. Looking forward, they still have talent. Not sure if that will translate into big wins though. I think that region is pretty even. No cupcakes.
  11. Fayetteville was 10-0 and then had to forfeit 6 games because of a kid that moved in and not handling it correctly per TSSAA. He is gone and I think they were better when they had their region MVP at QB anyway. Doesn’t matter now. I think what Salem is referencing is the kids in the sophomore class didn’t lose a middle school game for 3 years. They lost a couple of kids from that group to Lincoln Co but no one that was a game changer. Not sure what they will look like this year. They have the talent to make some noise in the West if they can figure out how to put it together.
  12. I know they had a lightning fast tail back that I think is back. He will be hard to contain.
  13. So the east is SP, GB, and Gordonsville? The west is Huntington, West Carroll, and Cornersville? What about Freedom Prep? It will be interesting to see who comes out on top in Cornerville’s region. I think most of the teams in that region have a chance to be good. Also think Fayetteville might have the right talent and coaches to make a run the next 4 years. They play Gordonsville in the regular season this year. We will see how real they are then.

I heard Moore co lost 2 girls that were going to be seniors that didn’t score much. Might hurt their depth but don’t think it will hurt starting 5. The big girl Fayetteville lost will hurt them. If their guards can step up, they may be ok. I think Huntland will miss Edwards high energy but they had kids on the bench that can fill her spot. I will be interested to see how Eagleville does losing 3 starters. They will have some good freshmen.
  15. I think the Franklin co assistant coaches daughter can play. She looks like she could provide some offense this year. Do either Columbia or Shelbyville have any big time players? I don’t know much about them.

I think Eagleville’s upcoming sophomore class won the duck river conference as 8th graders against several good opponents. I would assume they are ready to play, but lack high school experience. Do you know of specific transfers or do you just mean in general?

What does this district look like next year? My best guess is: Fayetteville - lose 3 starters but still have a lot of talent Eagleville - lose a lot of seniors but still have big post and good young guards Moore Co - think they lost the big guy but return several other players that mattered Cascade - not sure what they lost but they had a really good freshman guard Huntland - don’t know of anything they have outside of athletic freshman that looked like he could be a matchup nightmare Cornersville - didn’t see anything last that makes me think they won’t finish last

    1. Huntland 2. Moore Co 3/4. Eagleville or Fayetteville 5. Cornersville 6. Cascade
  19. 1. Coffee - Too much talent 2. Tullahoma 3. Lawrence 4. Lincoln - Enough talent to contend with top teams 5. Shelbyville 6. Columbia 7. Franklin - Losing Holman will hurt
  20. Does anyone give Fayetteville a chance after last year? They lost a bunch of seniors but they have a lot coming back if they figure out what to do at QB.
