  1. Because I guess I’m supposed to know who you are? I had several people, who apparently had more guts than you, come up to me and shake my hand. it’s okay, you thought you were going to get a victory lap. You’re right, I misspoke when I said the Alcoa score, but other than that we were exactly right.
  2. “Greeneville is really good.” -me on air. Thanks for watching.
  3. Both the Borders’ are awesome players. We’re blessed by all the great athletes at the 19 schools we cover. Not trying to attack you personally at all, just don’t want 1) a kid to think we aren’t for him when we absolutely are or 2) people to think we are against their schools when we definitely aren’t. Kids deserve people to highlight them, that’s all we’re trying to do. Happy Thanksgiving
  4. I usually don’t chime in on the boards as I find them entertaining, but this is so moronically stupid that I can’t help myself. We most certainly did not “intentionally leave Borders off so he wouldn’t win.” We voted for two people we thought we could argue were the best in the classification. Nothing more, nothing less. Think what you want about us, but we certainly don’t disrespect kids so you can shove that. Hopefully both these teams play their best game tomorrow and leave healthy!
  5. Spot on. Proving Ground will be a 3-part series, and the plan is to take it to a new school every year.

  10. I called the game for the Upper Cumberland Reporter. It was simply a tremendous defensive game between two great teams that know each other very well. No easy shots on either end, and the refs let them play very physical.
  11. I’ll answer it this way. I do a UC Top 5 every week. Upperman has been number 1 all season, and it’s not been close. The level of basketball in the UC right now on the girls side is as high as I’ve ever seen it, and this UHS team is absolutely legit.
  12. To be fair, they rescheduled Stone 3 times before finally calling it. Everyone knows I want to see CHS-UHS and WCHS-UHS. Would be great for the UC.
  13. My two cents: This Upperman team is the best I’ve ever covered. Including the 37-0 team from a few years ago.
  14. Grant Slatten from White County has to be in this conversation. Averaging over 36 a night, and does everything well.
  15. It’s already been referenced, but Macon County vs Upperman will be broadcast live on our Facebook page tonight at 6 p.m. Tune in to two great teams facing off! facebook.com/uppercumberlandreporter

  18. Great news, Dekalb County is back in and will play their first round matchup next week. School board changed its policy.

  20. Hate to see this. Dekalb was having a great season and deserved to play in the playoffs.
  21. I’ll have a photographer at that game and every time I get a score update I’ll be sure to share it on air.
  22. This week's Upper Cumberland Reporter High School Football Game of the Week pits Livingston Academy vs White County in a rivalry matchup.
