Until schools get more intentional about controlling the crowd then this is a moot point. It is not the refs job to control the crowd. Fans yelling at refs is not berating officials unless they are threatening and cursing. Yelling at refs for bad calls is not going away, just part of sports.

That’s a pretty soft schedule South Pitt has had this season. Middle TN Christian is your toughest game and they beat Columbia Academy twice by 2 and by 8. Columbia Academy got beat by Huntingdon 48-14 and We know Mckenzie handled Huntingdon. Would not be surprised at all for McKenzie to win and score 30 plus.

Definitely have to have thick skin to referee, you will not be a good referee if you don't. Do I think fans yell too much, absolutely, but that’s always going to be the case. If they aren’t threatening or cursing no need for administrators to get involved.

Yes the problem is you can’t really reprimand officials due to the lack of them. If you had enough referees you should suspend any referee that ever talks to fans, it’s unacceptable to ever do that. If it’s a huge problem let administrators handle fans. Surely in referee training they are told to never address fans but I see it far too often.

I know that high school refs have a challenging job that’s for sure, but many times they make things worse for themselves. The referees that have huge egos and come in ready to give a technical for anything are part of the problem also. I was always told the best referees are the ones that give the fewest technical fouls and can admit when they make mistakes. Go over to a coach and say coach I missed that call I will try and do better, it’s not that hard. They need training on how to manage their own personalities as well as being able to communicate with players and coaches as much as how to make calls. It’s a lot more than just making the correct call.

You may be right and I would love to watch us sling it all over the field but I don’t think we have had the QB factory like McKenzie has had the last several years. We don’t seem to grow em that tall over here. I’m sure the McKenzie offense is a fun one to play in.

Yea I don’t know about that. I think Comer has done a great job this season with McKenzie but it wasn’t that challenging to win with that roster in 1A last season. They would have won 2A last season also

That last game is tough that’s for sure not just for players but for us parents as well. Dresden had a fantastic season! A whole lot of memories made in sports!

First off Congratulations to both teams. I do believe Kam will play Friday but it will probably not be 100%. If he doesn’t play my first thought is you South Pittsburg fans sure don’t think much of the rest of the team. Then I put the shoe on the other foot and if Surber is out for McKenzie how many people would think McKenzie would have a chance? I think South Pitt would roll without Surber. If Kam doesn’t play Mckenzie will be the favorite.

The last two seasons Mckenzie has been loaded with athletes and talent. I will admit I have been a little skeptical of how good a coach Comer is. I was wrong, he has proven this year for sure he is one of the best in West TN. He has done a fantastic job considering what all they lost last season. I expect this game to be tight this week.

We have seen several really good 1A teams in West Tn the last few years. Dresden was great in 2016 no doubt but so was 2022 McKenzie and 2019 Lake County and I’m sure Trenton could also have some bragging rights.

I’m not a Dresden fan I just looked it up i don’t see much of a difference in y’all’s programs history. They have had a little more success than y’all recently.

Yeah you were being nice it’s all good man! I know what horrific is and that wouldn’t be a word I would use about a FOOTBALL game. Mustangs didn’t play great, nope, but we only lost 24-7. It was not as bad as folks make it out to be. Riverside is really good, give them a little more credit.
