  1. true. at this point it's useless. the season will play out into the playoffs and we'll have our results.
  2. i feel like this post has been quieter than it usually is on day 1....
  3. i think i misunderstood your point, or i read too quickly and made an assumption. if the issue is that there are too many (7 to 8) in region X and too few (5 or less) in region Y, then yes i agree with you. the 5th and 6th place in theoretical region X could be better than all of region Y and never make it to playoffs. which goes along with my point...too many teams are making it that don't belong in it. i think the fix is to split the regions more evenly, but then you run into longer travel times. what would your solution be?
  4. 1A region 5 has 7 teams. i think too many teams are making it to the playoffs that shouldn't be there anyway.
  5. i think it's happened the last two years, hasn't it?
  6. you're right...they listed the score in the area games section but didn't devote a whole article to it like they did the rest of the big games
  7. Fayetteville's paper doesn't even release until Wed or Thur, so it might just be too early still.
  8. pretty sure it's a TSSAA "mercy rule". if a team is up by 30, they let the clock run in the second half. it wasn't the coaches "giving up". not in that respect, anyway
  9. a lot of Fayetteville's talent from 2019 were class of '23 and still there this year.
  10. a little bird told me Huntland thinks they'll hold City under 32 points.
  11. on NFHS the road trip combined with the road trip's dinner that night, i think. but yeah, city looks better this year than last year. tonight will be a good test for them.
  12. https://www.tennesseetitans.com/community/game-of-the-week go vote! you can do it more than once!
  13. that's 2 more ranked teams than Bama. i'm not a fan of either, just pointing it out. this is the best shot Tennessee has had against Bama in years.
  14. i'd argue the vols' 7 wins are stronger than bama's....
  15. Not a RB fan. I know they're schedule has been weak and they don't have much for quality wins. But they are undefeated, going against an undefeated 1A team looking for revenge for last year. Edit: I'm a City fan. I was hoping to get some attention from the red bank fan base to vote. Being up for the vote at all is a big thing as it is, but it'd be cool to win
  16. More important than posting your predictions....Red Bank fans, we need your help on this vote! https://www.tennesseetitans.com/community/game-of-the-week
  17. close game, but Wayne Co comes out on top by 1 score
  18. hard fought game, but i think Fayetteville comes out on top. City by 10
  19. would a perfect season against 1A and 2A opponents be more meaningful than a 1 loss team that lost to a 4A team? i guess a better way to phrase it would be: is SOS more or less important than 1 loss?
  20. i mean, in a year or two, it'd be top 12 in CFP. that would be a fun HS playoff scenario.
  21. i think the biggest thing is that there isn't going to be something that is absolutely fair for everyone. the best answer is what is *most fair* and works for the majority. some of the schools outside the bell curve for each classification - whatever system they decide to use - are either going to have an advantage or disadvantage. it's just how it's going to work.
