  1. Coaches Hugh Owens and Cedric Hampton used to coach at Dyersburg. Coach Hampton was my DT coach. He used to say,” and you bust through that hole like Moses through the Red Sea!” I’m looking forward to seeing them. Last time I was in that stadium, was the night I blew my shoulder out 21 years ago. Trojans gonna get revenge for me in a big way!
  2. I will be watching through my telescope atop historic JC Sawyers stadium
  3. I’d love to see Union City upset Ensworth, but that’s a VERY long shot from happening
  4. Dyersburg throttled them in a scrimmage, but I think this might be the biggest, fastest, and deepest Dyersburg team since I played in the early 2000s. Dyersburg destroyed Milan too, without giving up a point, so take that for what it’s worth. Lexington was much tougher than Milan
  5. Looked to just be a cramp. I haven’t heard of any doubts toward him playing this week. I will say this about the matchup, Dyersburg, in my opinion, has the best conditioned team that they’ve had in a long time. They have size and speed. I believe their front 4 can get pressure on anyone. If I were calling the shots, I’d stack the box, blitz and stunt, and make DC throw the ball. I think it’ll be a long night for the DC passing game, even though they’ve got some talent and speed. Just my opinion.
  6. Lost the starting center a week before the game with a torn mcl. Had 10 fumbles, iirc. Had half a dozen other starters out that game also. A freshman DE, that will eventually be a stud, had to play and he got eaten alive in the second half. The majority of their yards were gained when he came in in the second half on that weak side.
  7. They’ll face the best and deepest Dyersburg defense in a long time. I think there will be problems keeping DC’s qb upright
  8. Big K was 330 when we went to camp at UT in late June. He’s 305 now. Much stronger, and playing with a chip on his shoulder. Heck of a great young man and twice the player he was last year! He’s hungry.
  9. This Dyersburg defense is pretty nasty. Much better than last year. Bigger and faster and much deeper than a year ago. If we don’t have the injury bug this year that we had last year, should go deep into the playoffs.
  10. I hope you’re on your game Friday night! I’m looking forward to it!
  11. I said with the exception of Milan, but definitely much faster than LC across the board. LC has a few speedsters, and I know because I played with their relatives. Dyersburg has almost as much speed at the skill positions but across the board we’re much faster. It’s just young untested talent. Dyersburg will be a much much better team next year. Bart should’ve played the young guys more last year when he was blowing everybody out.
  12. As having attended every Dyersburg game and scrimmage, home and away, and having rewatched almost every Peabody game on YouTube, I’d say this is a very hot take. Dyersburg has a plethora of injuries at key positions, but has more speed than Peabody has been facing, with the exception of Milan. Don’t let our scrimmage with Milan skew your perception either. We had a dozen or so guys held out from that scrimmage that could’ve played but were a little banged up. Had Milan played as aggressively against Peabody as they did against us, that margin would have been much greater in my opinion. We’re young and we’ll have quite a few sophomores and freshmen playing, but I still see Dyersburg winning this game. Our Oline has 1 returning starter from last year and lost 2 starters before the season started, but they’re finally making it through a series or two without a fumbled snap. Had 11 fumbles against Dyer county and 6 or more every game, until last week. Gonna be a good game and I hope Peabody and their fans show up with a great atmosphere. I have a feeling that Tennesseeannouncer will put on a show!
  13. That Covington/Munford game was on a Thursday night. I took a group of Dyersburg players with me to it. Munford is as fast as I’ve ever seen them since I started playing at Dyersburg in 2000. Jordan Bell is a special athlete and a fine young man. Numbers 2 and 11(if I remember correctly) were faster than greased lightning. Munford is much improved from last year, and Dyersburg has taken a big step back. We’ve had some key losses due to injury and legal troubles and are still trying to put together a halfway decent Oline. Munford will win handily. I just hope my boys learn, grow, and fight till the end.
  14. And the guy that scored it is an assistant for Dyersburg
  15. 20 years ago was the first game played in that stadium and I was a junior at Dyersburg. My son is a junior at Dyersburg. Hopefully he follows in dad’s footsteps and puts it on the Choctaws. As you said mg, Dyersburg is young, and they have to make progress each week. So far, even in the scrimmages, the playcalling has been very conservative. If the OL starts to gel, we’ll score some points. Lots of young talent
  16. Get em Tomcats! Dyersburg is pulling for y’all!
  17. Pulling for you guys! I got to watch two Haywood games this season and they’re as big and physical as I’ve seen in west Tennessee. Go get the gold!
  18. I will be highly surprised if Dburg doesn’t line up in trips tomorrow night at some point.
  19. Dyersburg has 4 or 5 guys that are shiftier and faster than him. When they start moving the chains on the ground, then they go play action over the top to a 6’4 wr that can take it to the house on any play. No offense to EN, but they’ll have to play as disciplined and tackle as well as they have all year or they’ll get behind, fast.
  20. Better call McKenzie and tell them that only Peabody can win 1A too
  21. Busy throwing shade at the program that would’ve beaten the brakes off of Peabody had Peabody not dropped us to play Lake County
