Screen plays aren’t trick plays. The jet sweep pass was just a gutsy play call. And Gordonsville didn’t run over Clay on their last offensive play on 4th & 1. Gordonsville never punted or kicked to #44 for Clay. Every team knew better. When they did they usually paid the price.
This group of Bulldogs don’t beat theirselves. Don’t turn the ball over. The score in the last meeting should’ve been 20-14 Clay. Our coaches got greedy before half. It should’ve been 12-7 Clay at half. That said Bulldogs win this game also. 20-7.
Congratulations to all nominated for Mr. Football. I’m partial but my vote,if I had one, would have went to Clay County’s Joseph Marcom. 101 carries for 1044 yards and 17 touchdowns this year on a team that spreads the ball around.
I myself know how hard it is to win in Gordonsville. I was a senior on theBulldog team in1994 12-6 OT lossfor 2nd in region. That was rough. I believed this Clay team could’ve won the last two times in gordonsville with the right coaching. Bulldogs do now.
Clay scrimmaged several good teams in preseason. Watertown, Monterey,&coalfield. They handled those scrimmages with ease. Lost to Dekalb in jamboree but only played starters a quarter at most. I’m going 22-14 Clay for their first ever region title.
You can sit anywhere you want to fore sure as long as it is allowed by admin and security. It could be more dangerous in certain areas I’m sure lol. And yes they’ll be fights in neyland Saturday for sure. Especially when alcohol involved. Have you ever been to a Florida or Alabama game.?
So proud of my cousin. Her grandfather was one of my high school coaches and her grandmother is my 2nd cousin. Yes! Clay County was rooting for Gordonsville.
