  1. maybe do your homework first. LA played BA (D2AAA) 2 years ago away (while alex broome was on the sidelines) and they were unable to get a return home game out of it. last year, they played independence (6A), knox catholic (D2AAA) and they played oakland (6A) away last year with 1 weeks notice and were unable to get a return home game out of it. pulaski academy (ark state champs), independence, greater atlanta christian all broke their contracts this year so dilfer got thompson (AL 6A state champs & top 20 in the country) and milton (GA 7A heavyweight) and Calvert Hall out of MD. some of the teams you mentioned won't schedule LA so it's not on LA. I think dilfer has demonstrated he is willing to play so don't make it sound like LA is unwilling. props to knox catholic for honoring their contract this year. I think this might be a moot point in the not too distant future. I guess a super bowl ring, super bowl MVP trophy mean nothing? and he won a gold ball in 3 years at a school that was not competitive for years before his arrival. I think he's doing fine. how did mt juliet do last year? cough, cough...5 game losing streak.
  2. I think it is worth the spend. last year, I did it for a month here and there if I was missing the game which is about the same as a ticket. this year, I paid for the year. like was previously said, it's nice being able to catch extra games. also agree that if left to the auto follow option, you can miss a lot when the players are still and the ref is backing up. camera follows the ref to the defensive backfield and you miss it all. some schools have kids doing commentary which is fun. right now, I am re-watching last season on demand and checking out opponents for this upcoming season. I also used it for basketball and baseball playoffs.
  3. it's hard to know what to think in situational scrimmages like that. lots of athletes all over the field. my uneducated opinions... LA - defense might be better which is saying something. edwin spillman got bigger and already looks like a D1 LB as a junior. he and beasley are insane. the offense will be pass more with 2 young RB splitting carries but they showed promise with some nice runs. PC - I didn't realize they were 4A. they were big and fast showed some flashes. one of their RB's looked like a huge DE and was really hard to bring down, like tackling eddie george. I will definitely be following them this year. curious to hear other opinions though. I was talking to friends and watching kiddos so missed a lot.
  4. it ended up 9-0 when the second string came in. I thought pearl cohn looked good. lots of athletes out there for sure.
  5. if you mean pearl cohn, yes they do.
  6. just added that to my watch list!
  7. here is an article with a 5A top 15... https://www.stateoftennesseehsfb.com/articles/state-of-tennessee-hsfb-class-5a-preseason-preview/
  8. I dont know much about mount juliet but I have not heard them in conversations about being ranked in the top 5 in the state. what would your top 10 look like?
  9. THIS IS ONLY FOR TULLAHOMA WILDCATS FOOTBALL!! NO SOUP FOR YOU!!
  10. dude, they were just making conversation that they thought was relevant. you can skip over it...
  11. gotcha. oakland and LA didn't do amazingly well so we will see...
  12. did you see any of the 7 on 7 yesterday?
  13. yeah, like I said...i'm a little nervous. I do think LA likes being the underdog so we will see. what about the franklin co game makes you say that? I didn't get to attend but sounds like it was frustrating to LA.
  14. just saw lipscomb vs thompson is going to be on ESPNU. i'm nervous about that game but LA will sure be battle hardened early in the season when they start district play.
  15. oh, man. you guys used to be the powerhouse. I guess it's part of the cycle. I am wondering if that game is going to remain. the LA m a x preps (why can't we say this?) schedule also has a game with franklin road academy the same day.
  16. for sure. they had 4 super bowls rings on the coaching staff last year. clearly i'm a LA guy. what's your team?
  17. no disagreement here. I started to say something about the talent pool but deleted it because i have no idea. just correcting the division and noting top AA is pretty dern close to AAA in D2. LA mercy ruled a D2AAA team last year and would have done so to most of them IMHO. CPA beat MBA and BA last year. I do think the cbg brings up some points that are similar. LA had to up their game in facilities for sure. they also had to broaden their pool out of the CoC. i'm just making conversation cause the D2 board is slow.
  18. boyd buchanan is D2-AA, not single A. and I think lipscomb academy and CPA have shown the gap is not that wide. there were some naysayers about dilfer at LA but he seems to be doing ok. : )
  19. or a resentment. this seems like an "airing of grievances"...
  20. that was super interesting to read and I am not from west TN. I would love to see this for middle TN or the whole state. thanks for sharing!
  21. yeah it was crazy. im sad to see him go but I am glad hank is getting a chance. he's an amazing kid and has waited patiently.
  22. FWIW, I believe lipscomb and pearl cohn will scrimmage later this summer. while it is only a scrimmage it could still be fun to watch!
