I think Powell would be fine with losing to Maryville and winning the state like they did last year. I’ll be rooting for Maryville when playoff time comes but not looking too good now for them

Campbell County looks like they have a good game plan with the air raid and rolling away from the pressure. Powell looking a bit out of sorts on both sides of the ball.

From what I saw on unapproved website Munford has the easiest schedule so I would say they could very well be overrated. Powell has one of the toughest and lost their 2 with Potts out so could be underrated.

Yea I heard OR has some d1 talent at running back and receiver and for Powell to keep them to 7 points is good. I think we can safely say they are the best defense in the region. I know it’s a team game but when #6 is in the back field every time it’s hard to get in a rhythm.

Yea Powell had some really nice 50 yard+ punts pinning OR deep and nailed a 30 yard-ish field goal. Not sure what’s up with the kick offs I know last year the same kicker had some nice ones where Powell actually recovered the ball without onside kicking it so I’m guessing they are trying something similar.

I don’t think anybody expected it to go this way. OR was putting up a fight just a lot of mistakes in the 2nd half. Hope #44 for Powell can recover and get back out there down the line since he’s only a sophomore. One of the worse injuries I’ve seen in a local high school game from what I could see.

Not sure if oak ridge has a better kicking game from what I’ve seen so far.

Lol I like being able to watch Powell play but I agree. Not only the air talent but the cameras and repetitive ads are annoying too. The oak ridge prep radio and OEB game of the week streams are really good quality on YouTube.

Powell’s defense has been painful to watch but #6 has been fun to watch for them. I haven’t seen OR this year but I remember last year the QB didn’t have a great time.

Cummings Halls team did great last year against Powell. Sounds like oak ridge isn’t 100% coming in and Powell is finally looking close to 100% so I’ll take Powell by a couple TDs. I only see Powell possibly losing to Catholic the rest of the way until playoffs.

West has to be #1 right now. Next few weeks should show who else in up there behind west. Springfield vs Henry county, Powell vs oak ridge, page vs nolensville all good 5a match ups coming up.

I just saw a replay of the ending. What a mess by the referees. Not sure of the rules but looked like both teams caught the ball so karns should’ve been rewarded with the Td.

With Powell’s #6 and #4 coming off the edge or breaking through gaps I think Powell should be able to disrupt things against most district teams. Hope for a healthy game for both teams.

Might as well be 0-12 since AE beat another winless team in Scott. They played OR close so I wouldn’t look past them if I’m Powell but I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s similar to last years game.

Crazy ending. Credit to Science Hill players for making plays. They didn’t look ready to have a passing game but they took advantage of Powell’s weaknesses special teams and run defense.

Science Hill offense trying to avoid Soles as much as possible because he is ready to hit them and force fumbles. Think the refs helped Powell with the fumble ruling earlier

You may be right about Powell losing the first two no matter what but they could’ve been a lot more competitive. Have yet to see Redmond play on defense this year which I think makes a big difference too and think some people may have overlooked.

Non district matchup that should be more competitive than last years game. How is Science Hill looking this year? Thoughts and predictions? Will Powell keep resting their star receivers?

Who is the 3rd receiver that missed the game? Besides #9 and #11 I thought I saw the other senior receivers play ( #22 and #4) Also nice to see #3 back after the hit he took against AC.

Not to mention the two teams they lost to have a good chance of going undefeated this year and making a run in the playoffs

I missed the game but just saw Powell wasn’t using #11 or #9. Kind of feel bad for karns because this is probably the best team they have had in some time.

Yup I was wondering why Powell wasn’t using their D1 athlete #9 on defense. Maybe just getting new kids experience or maybe more going on i don’t know.

Alot of youth on the field last night on both sides for sure.
