  1. Great game by Alcoa. Douglass couldn't close them and Alcoa deserves all of that win. Good game and congrats!
  2. I believe Independence will win the game as well, and based on what I saw today they are very very solid. With several of the high-profile players in Memphis jumping to the privates, charters, and magnets during the covid era....they're not as dominant this year as in the past. I was surprised when Overton got to the State Tourney, by winning their way through the Memphis teams. I'm calling Independence by 8.
  3. This should be a very tight game. I think Hampton plays hard and are very well coached. I also feel the same way about Middleton. I'm going with Mr. Basketball and Middleton by 4.
  4. Independence and Memphis Overton will be a tale of 2 different styles. If Independence keeps the game at the right pace and doesn't turn it into a track meet, they'll beat Overton by 8-10 in my opinion. I think Independence is winning the Gold Ball after what I witnessed today in both games.
  5. BPM....that's why I like you. You point out "basic" facts with unbiased observations with basic correlation. Sort of like democrats and war/inflation/gas prices....and then trying to justify why we have war/inflation/and high gas prices.
  6. Corrected.....in most professional writings, the wife is "normally" mentioned first. Good catch.
  7. I don't know the total number of fouls called in this Middleton / East Robertson game, but it was kind of ridiculous. With that being said, if Middleton doesn't get hosed by officiating....I think they're the best team of all the 1A games I watched today. Hampton played well too, but I don't think they can match the overall speed or stop the Middleton point from going where he wants to go. I think Middleton will beat USJC by 18+
  8. I've heard of basketball officials not being paid after games on multiple occasions over the years, and they have to wait until the TSSAA cuts them a check (sometimes a month later).
  9. You are truly one of my favorite posters on here, your takes make me laugh at moments. I'm a big fan of BBQ chicken too. lol
  10. ....and the people from WV believe they would've won all 4 classification games as well this past Saturday (and I agree based on their style of defense), but WV fans typically only comment on who they actually have behind them already. Not what ifs? They hear the same stuff year in and year out, so you won't get much back from them on your prediction (opinion). McKenzie is great and no one is disputing that and are very well appreciated by all in our area.
  11. All deserving. WV is glad that Jada finally got her due. Nominated 3x and finally got the recognition. Congrats to all of these young ladies & they all are excellent choices.
  12. lol. Those WV folks keep quiet mostly and they let everyone else do the chirping/hating. What's astounding is that they held every opponent at the Boro to an average of at least 21+ points less than their offensive average coming into to their matchups in the tourney. Offense wins the crowd, defense wins the championships. The teams that post 60-65 plus points on an average night don't like the games where you have to grind out every possession to get a good look. WV will be in semi-rebuild next year, but I don't think they'll change their philosophy or their approach.
  13. In all fairness, the transfer rules enforcement is and has always been a little "slack" in Memphis on normal years compared to the more rural areas, but with the Covid rules....those privates started their own NIL deals and that's why the city league isn't as strong this year.
  14. No doubt. I think Davis and Hart will be the front runners in 1A and 2A next year. They have big-time game and are fun to watch.
  15. Straight facts. Same way on the boy's side as well. A lot of the public school talent jumped to private when Memphis shut down basketball in the public setting during Covid.
  16. .....1 to WV and maybe 2 to SS. lol.
  17. I think WV will have an over .500 winning percentage
  18. .....sounds like a back-to-back state tournament loser to WV with that stupid post. Good luck next year. If WV doesn't beat you, then GC, Huntingdon, Loretto or Summertown probably will.
  19. Losing Harrison, Brigance, and Chester (our wing/post) from the starting rotation WV should have Simpson and Evans (young post player) back in there next year. WV has a couple of younger girls who will get more time who are on the bench, and they will be thrown in the mix when they start back later this spring.
  20. When is the last time that neither Summertown and Loretto failed to make it? I haven't really thought of that, but that's been a minute since that's happened. I'm good with WV going towards Memphis instead of towards Nashville. lol.
  21. WV is losing three starters but should have 2 that could've helped a lot this year, healed and back from their knee injuries. The 8th grader will have to develop, but she has the ability to be pretty special as well. We will be 8 deep next year, but it's going to be a growing year and hopefully they'll be their best at the end of the season.
  22. GC will definitely be pre-season #1 and will be in the driver's seat for sure in that alignment. When it's said and done in 2024, hopefully GC & WV can continue or finish their business up at the Glass House.
  23. WV 4 state tourneys 2 gold balls *had as good a chance at winning the covid tourney as all the remaining teams, which would have made 3 Golds but will never know and it's not fair to other 3 teams who were still playing as well* 123-8 (It's not the best 4-year run "ever", but it's pretty good as well) Note: I appreciated your team's run through those years and no one on here is disputing how good Greenfield was during that stretch. We all pull for the local girls at the next level and hope Chloe & Tess continue doing great things at Indiana & Tennessee. We're all proud of them and all of the great teams from all over the North-West.
