Well Ramsey is on a different level than most girls in any classification. I hate the loss for the Landers esp considering they lost a key starter. Maybe it’s just what it is. IF you lose a great player due to injury in 1A there’s just not enough depth to replace her. You talk about Fr and Soph’s filling her spot. But we know her experience and leadership is sorely missed. Maybe the young players can step up by playoff time. But i honestly think it’s an uphill battle without her on the floor.

Who’s Unaka’s coach. Apparently he’s doing a good job. How did they beat Cloudland?

Well i guess you’re proving me correct. A waisted week of quality competition has come home to roost. Very poor decisions during the holiday break is showing up. They have too much talent to lose to a district team. I’m disappointed to say the least but preparation is obviously lacking and poor coaching. They definitely have the athletes to win the State. But the supporting cast and AD are pathetic.

I think everyone needs to just accept that CC’s schedule is Weak. And that ridiculous trip to NH was a Field Trip for the girls. Nothing more Nothing less. We can discuss the decisions about NOT Playing in a real tournament with real competition. Obviously they didn’t do anything that long weekend to improve. But they are really talented. Yes they should have gone to play in Florida or even a better tournament in ET. Or in SC. The season is winding down now. So we’ll see how prepared they are to play teams with equal talent in the playoffs. I HOPE that they go to the State. But the AD and Coach make me wonder why they have waisted opportunities to play better teams and improve. Well find out soon enough if they’re ready to compete. This team definitely has the talent. But I’m wondering IF they would’ve been a little more prepared if their schedule and tournaments were a little more competitive. Jus sayin

King. . I REALLY Hate that News. I know that Team has a real shot at making the State. But without Her i know that it’s an uphill battle. But as they say when someone goes down it’s next “man” up. Maybe her loss will inspire the underclass to step up. I sure hope so. This is a Special Team. And i mean Team. I wish them all the best going forward.

Wonderful News. . Doesn’t seem like a surgical issue. She may have to wear a brace for a period. But sounds like she’s going to be fine. Obviously she’s going to be needed during the Tournament. I just wish that All Teams are at Full Strength when it matters.

Coffee is #2 in the latest Poll. They definitely have the talent and athletes to win in Mboro. Can they get past their mediocre coaching and weak schedule to actually get there. I’m not betting on it regrettably.

I totally agree. The Ramsey girl from Unaka basically has carried her whole team to the few wins they have. Not to mention she’s ALWAYS double teamed and is STILL their highest scorer. IF she had a decent supporting cast she’d be posting even better stats. She DEFINITELY deserves consideration.

Well that could be promising or bad. I’m in the medical field. A partial tear usually heals in 3-6 wks with some ultrasound therapy, ice and bracing. Anything more significant could require a scope to repair which would put her out for 3-4wks. Hopefully her MRI is negative and she just has a knee sprain. Which is day to day and could get her back in a week or 2.

Don’t hate. It’s just my humble opinion. I hope she is successful at the next level. I just don’t see her as a starter for a top 25 D1 school. Nothing wrong with that. She’s a great athlete and i wish her all the best moving forward.

You took down Not only the # 1 team in the State but your greatest Rival. I’m just filled with Joy for your Unbelievable Performance. It’s going to be a Tough rematch but i believe the confidence and perseverance that you displayed Tonight will serve you well through the next matchup and the rest of the Season. Congrats !!!

I agree. Cloudland and Hampton are definitely the best teams in the Region. The Game tomorrow is a toss up. But I’m going with the Lander Girls in the Game because of being in Roan Mtn it is going to be a War. And Cloudland is a real TOUGH PLACE to Play. I expect the Game to be decided late in the 4th Qtr. Definitely less than by 5 either way. But give me Cloudland by 3 in the end. Jus my opinion.

The coaches are 1/2 the problem this season. Players are not playing the proper positions. And he’s got a girl on the bench that should be starting.

I’ve seen her play. Definitely Not D1. If she has “offers” I’d sure be interested to know who’s offering.

David Crockett isn’t going anywhere. They’re small on the post and too small at guard to play with big girls. They would have a “chance” to get to the State in 1A against Hampton or Cloudland but have no chance against the 4A schools outside of the weak Region 1. Beating up SH is Not something to brag about. They’re Pathetic. Regardless i do hope DC does well come playoff time. But i don’t see anything past a District Championship this Season.

Scotty P is a Bernie Voter and thinks everyone is “against” small town schools. He probably is unhappy with his job and possibly his wife. This is his outlet for his own problems and insecurities. Money and population demographics DONT win Championships no matter what stats etc he wants to whine about. I’ve SAID that Coffee Co has a great team. And can play with anyone in the State. But YES that Silly field trip to NH cannot be defended. It was a glorified Field Trip to play a bunch of pathetic lower class teams. Glad the Girls got to see a little bit of NH. But to say that’s a productive way to get better is a total joke. It’s indefensible. I hope and think CC will make a run in the playoffs. They definitely have the talent. But their Coach and AD concern me. Just my opinion

Lincoln Co is very well coached. They have a solid starting 5 but no size. Probably the tallest girl is “maybe” 5’9” IF they had a couple of big girls on the post they’d be solid. So they have a lot of problems with rebounds and guarding down low. Tipps has done a great job with the girls he has to work with. But they’ll be lucky to win the District. But have no chance to go further.

No i saw them in the preseason at Independence HS and they totally outclassed every team there including Bartlett. . They have a Solid Team top to bottom. Have size, athletes, and guards that can shoot. They’re by far the best team 7-8 deep off the bench of any team I’ve seen this year.

I’ve seen Coffee Co several times. I think that they have a good shot at making the State. Yes their parents may be farming cows and living in box trailers but talent is talent. And nobody can tell me this team isn’t capable of playing with anyone in the State this year. Jus my take on them. They’ve got 2 really good and tall post players and 3 girls that can handle the ball and shoot 3’s. As well as a deep bench. They just beat Lin Co who was 16-1 having won their tournament in Pensacola going 3-0 by 31. Their only other loss was to CC by 62-19 earlier in the season. So Coffee is definitely a team to contend with when things get Real.
