  1. Stop being a homer for once. If you just watch the Bradley girls games they are running up the score. Just recently I clicked in to see how much they were beating Howard by, it was something like 50 points in the 3rd quarter and Bradley was still pushing the ball up the court for fast break layups. You can't tell me that's not running up the score? Pack it in a zone, get the rebound, wait for the defense to set up, and if they don't pressure, then yes hold the ball. That is (in my opinion) the downfall of TN, no shot clock. If they pressure you, run the halfcourt sets and score. You follow this method, you are still "playing to win", you are just doing it with a little class which wouldn't hurt considering these are teenage girls we are talking about.
  2. 18-20 wins, means nothing if they are not quality wins in my opinion Winning districts consistently, yes positive Getting knocked out in regions, no shame there, also a positive The question would be what is keeping this coach from getting over the hurdle? Are they stuck in their ways and not willing to adjust? Do they just simply run it to better talent at the stage? A lot of variables to determine what constitutes a "good coach"
  3. Heritage is the real deal, teams better watch out for them!
  4. Will be a refreshing change to Rhea Co football. Give it a few seasons to really get implemented and see what they can do.
  5. While this certainly can be true. It undermines the integrity and authority structure of the basketball program. Players play Coaches Coach Refs Officiate Parents Cheer At least that's how it should be.
  6. They recruit well and are a powerhouse no denying that. They would be my pick to cut down the nets. Their coach on the other hand is a piece of you know what. Running up scores on teams like that is completely unnecessary.
  7. It will revert back to the dumpster fire it always has been. It's not secret Vestal was trying to get out already, he thought he was the frontrunner for the LC job. The only way the "wins" continue is to soften the schedule again. Let's be honest 2-8 is nothing to be proud of. Only reason it got any recognition was because of how long it had been since.
  8. When the HC has a philosophy you gotta follow it, unfortunately for Rhea Co, his philosophy ran off a lot of skill players that otherwise would of been a great fit for a more balanced attack utilizing spread formations. Imagine having to prep for a team that could run a spread and wing-T at a high rate of success on any given play. Matchup nightmare.
  9. Giving instruction doesn't mean they were coaches? Or that they are on staff? Also, sounds like it is more on the refs for engaging with spectators rather than coaches on the actual bench.
  10. Can't say I've ever seen this, but does not surprise me one bit that this would happen.
  11. I'm guessing, again just a guess no factual evidence to back this, but I think his time in Rhea just came to a close. Talent level is going to drop losing Davis, his bell cow. I also know that there was pressure from admin to control finances. He's been looking to get out over the past couple years, I can only believe CCHS offered up a nice chunk of $$$
  12. Can only speak on what I've seen recently, and it was no shoulder pads on offense, full pad on defense.
  13. I don't see the problem in this? Were they actually coaches? Or were they volunteers helping out the team? Was it lower level coaches, such as a freshman team or JV team? They would not be required to sit on the bench then. How is it different than players taking instructions from parents?
  14. As far as X's and O's, he's up there with the rest of them. As far as relationship building, nope. And in high school sports that matters. The kids need to believe you have their best interest at heart. If you are not a starter, or a highly talented backup, you might as well not exist. He runs his program like a college one, and it relies heavily on the strength and conditioning program.
  15. One thing CCHS will learn is Pemb does not give two S***s about the fans or media. He will run the double wing-T, it's his baby and he knows it better than anyone. But Defensive side of the ball will be whatever the DC decides to run.
  16. Does it really bother you that much? What is crazy about showing some good sportsmanship? What I think is more ridiculous is all these handshakes/dances they want to do. Just run out when your name is announced and move along.
  17. The problem with concessions, like everything else nowadays, is the cost. $3 for a bottle of pop is crazy!
  18. I really like this idea!!!
  19. THIS!!! even when the error is clearly stated and they just continue to go along with it. Makes absolute no sense.
  20. I agree such a simple and common sense approach, but yet you see some scorekeepers who have this ego that they are the home book and refuse to conversate. We all make mistakes and sometimes its hard to hear the ref or they might throw up a number but then say another so having that conversation and checking books after every quarter or at least at the half would just keep the integrity of the game.
  21. Thank you so much for this! That dude is so annoying. Such a troll
  22. In conclusion everyone "knows a guy" or has "a source" but yet no name can be given. Great discussion board
  23. Should there be a neutral-unbiased party that does books for varsity games? Seen a lot of instances where discrepancies in the books sway games one way or the other and there is nothing for a visiting team to do because you have to go by the home teams book as it is "official".
