3AAA-Halls and Karns 3AAA-Halls and Karns 2AAA-Morristown West and Jefferson County

I will be surprised if you don't find two Knoxville AAA teams in the boro come tournament time. Both 3AAA and 4AAA have competed well this year. I think that most of all the good teams in both districts have beaten some good teams from different areas.

I have followed this thread, and planned on keeping my two cents out of this rambling rant. However, I feel as though we have gone a bit far. First, as a former high school and college player, let me say that as far as players are concerned, we are not going to be incredibly bothered by another group's actions in the dugout. Next, anyone who claims that the Bearden program is "classless" is either very bitter, incredibly envious, our plainly misled. I am no Bulldog fan, but I have been involved in events where I had immediate contact with the coaches and players at Bearden. Those people, like most everyone else in high school athletics, were dedicated to the development of young people, to education, and to their community. That is what I think we could define as class. Finally, parents and fans spend relatively no time on the field with kids. I am sure that many dads have coached their all-american in Little League, but we're not in little league anymore. Baseball is still a game, and sometimes the fans become incredibly mean-spirited and immature when trying to "cheer for their team." This whole idea that it is part of the game for parents to scream at high school kids is alarming. Why would an adult believe that they are intended to scream insults to 16 and 17 year old kids? It is my belief that this thread should be shut down, and maybe any thread that is devoted to team/coach bashing.

I know that it is quite hard for adults to really become self-aware of all of their actions, yet ultimately that is what we want from these kids. It is the goal of parents, players, and coaches to make sure that these kids mature into adults who are capable of making intelligent, responsible decisions. The playing field and this process is just an showing ground for a kid's internal monitor.

The weird is upon me. If I recall correctly a coach on the other side of Morristown was only reluctantly released after some very ill-advised activities and relationships with students. Now maybe Mo. West is just a classier organization, or the people and parents of Mo. West are being a bit less thankful than they should be. The question comes down to two things: Was Coach Stansberry someone who used disgraceful language to injure and impress athletes? and was Coach Stansberry someone who represents the athletic department and school well? If these questions can be answered honestly, then all opinions will be proven moot.

Those are some pretty harsh words when talking about a team that has been to the state tourney the last few years. Though this "lost" should not have happened, strange things happen in the game of baseball. Talent does not always overcome will, desire, and intensity. At the same time, it is very important to remember that all the wins and losses of the regular season are erased in the district tournament. Congratulations to Clinton, and their first baseman who posts on here quite frequently.

What would a coach or recruiter T say if he knew what you were saying on the internet? Some of you guys need to stop talking and play. Most of you, I am sure, are excellent players. However, from experience, I know that fueling the fire is the last thing that you want to do. Also, people have, like striper says, taken this too seriously. It is human nature. Who is the new head coach over there?

Basile, from Mo. East, will make a huge difference at Maryville. He is an exceptional player, and he dominated his conference last year. S. Doyle has a number of good pitchers. They have two dominant lefties, and two right-handed pitchers that could start for many teams.

What happened to the old staff? Who makes up the new coaching staff? Is Jeff Price still around up there?

As any player or coach knows, all players are connected to all of their coaches The players at east are now a combination of many coaches' philosophies and practices. Regardless of who you blame or congratulate, it is a group of kids and parents that have earned this season. These people have been working hard for four straight years.They have won, and this senior class has been able to do something that the past two could not do. Congratulations to the senior class of 2005.

Sounds like DZ may have been in on the voting process. Those coaches are pretty good about not letting rumors out. Maybe you are someone who is letting the cat out of the bag. Should Stansberry be Coach of the Year? Didn't he lose twice to East? Also, no region birth for the Trojans. Hopefully, Depew did win poty.

Matt Spencer hit above .500 just last season. Sometimes I think that you people on this board have never seen an IMAC game. You guys are constantly talking about great coaching, yet this is a conference with some of the most absurd practices that could take place. Casey Taylor is obviously doing a pretty fine job with a minimum roster, but look at the rest of these clubs. Jeff Co. was preseason top five in East TN, but they only finished 3rd in their district. How did they lose to teams like East? East has barely played as many games as their own football team, and Cherokee doesn't do anything. The IMAC tourney is always a good one, and Jeff County should prevail, but I have a strong feeling that there will be some upsets thrown in there. Depew does deserve POTY for overcoming his team. When you have no one protecting you, and you are a player like Depew, then you shouldn't be able to do what he has. The other IMAC coaches should walk him in every single at bat. Coach of the year should be Randy Richards, the Greenville Head Coach.

How is the IMAC going to be? I heard that Jeff County was loaded, but that they were shut out at a tournament in Oak Ridge? What about M. East and West?
