Certainly will not speak for team U but I do believe Kevin left things in great shape and they have some really good assistant coaches and Army will continue building off the incredible success that Kevin Ward established! The Academies offer so much and is more than just wrestling. The great thing is Kevin built something special at Army and took them to new heights and I would expect that will not change and these young men will have the chance to AA and attain their goals as well as set themself up for success in life!! Congrats to Coach Ward and his opportunity to return to his alumni and assist in the building of something special!

If the Lord had given me a chance to ask for a son, I would have screwed it all up! Dylan gave Tamara and I something amazing. Blessed beyond belief and happy for him with his wrestling career but he has a great future and we are proud of him for what he is becoming. Wrestling is just a small piece of the puzzle that is developing him. The Lord, family and foundation is key!! The young man kills more deer and turkey than I do and can get his line stretched but is an incredible son!!! The rivalry with Baylor is just a small thing as the bigger picture is the future. We just like the folks, families and atmosphere we are around!! It gets heated at times and I am passionate but I really really like the culture we are building g at Mccallie. Reminds me of what we use to have in the 80s and early 90s. Just a family fun based environment! we will see where it goes! Matches like today are fun and even in the loses, you have fun, grow and enjoy!!!

We pay what iwr qualified for and in 99% for these cases we probably pay more than what we were approved for!!! So stop this crap!!! Mccallie doesn’t cater to wrestling! They do consider financial aide but not what you think and that’s a fact!!! If the facts were told… your leader , recruited me for my son many times and I never once filled out a single piece of paper work for Baylor and I can take a Polly graph that he stated he would match and see to it that they would match and be less than at Mccallie!!! I still think it will be close and I personally think Father Ryan may have the upper hand but we will see. I gave due respect to the red team as they deserved the win tonight!! But Bobby Kamala has stated many things wrong and I call them out!! Yes Baylor had an amazing young lady wrestler and from a great family but she did lose both times. She represented and is amazing but was never wrestling in girls state as she was going to national preps in the girls division anyway and it’s the same week as the girls state!! She was never worried about a girls state for Baylor. Reighly is more focused on national preps and worlds for the girls!! So stop with your BS DEI crap!! She is a competitor and an amazing young lady wrestler but stop with your BS. Glad Baylor had an amazing young lady that can fill in when they can’t develope with in!! Sturgill are great people and she is top notch but come on man!!!! I would have loved to see Baylor wrestle Cleveland and Father Ryan this year but it didn’t make sense!!! Just saying!!! Recruited recruit and keep recruiting!! That’s all they can do!! They have no middle school that can compete!! Prove me wrong!!!

I was there at the finals and you sure didn’t find me!!! I was fully available!! To prove another one of your points wrong with the previous statements that you have made!! Baylor is down this year?? Baylor was not down because of their recruiting of upper grade classmen ! But they better hope the transfer rule passes and stock the heck up for next year. I am sure they will do all they can! That’s what they do!!! They need many upper classmen as we have young kids getting developed!! And do t graduate anyone! I do believe Father Ryan matched up better against Baylor and would have beat Baylor but FatherRyan sorta didn’t make adjustments to our moves and we pulled it off against them. Still it’s sad that Baylor refused to wrestle them this year!!! Congrats to that red team , they wrestled well and the coin toss was big and they ran the table. They won and deserved it!! However they should have been without one of there wrestlers due to some very disrespectful actions from the week before but hopefully he learned some lessons and looked like he did tonight! I will assure you Knox, Boskin nor High need your help at Cleveland at all and would stomp that red team. But Baylor only wrestles them if it makes sense!! Words from your leader!!! It was disappointing at the time but considering the situation, it is all good!! Cleveland had a solid game plan and didn’t actually recognize the weights a couple kids wrestled on Thursday or I am certain they would have weighed more wrestlers in!! It was still a great night and the teams enjoyed it as did the fans!! Thanks!!

Great match indeed! Cleveland made it great for the wrestlers on both sides!! Great environment and passion on both sides!! I will say McCallie wrestled about as good a match as could have been expected! It was closer than I expected and dang well could have been 32-26 and that would have 100% been as close as we could have ever been. Thanks again to the whole Cleveland staff for hosting and giving the wrestlers and fans something they deserve!!! Fun night indeed!!

Cleveland has probably 15 different line ups that are really good and could pull off a win. I am super glad Hudson is getting g to enjoy some high school matches and I am surprised that Cooper Hilton hasn’t jumped in as he deserves to have some fun too and enjoy a little high school stuff! All I know is : it will be an incredible venue and no matter what wrestler is brought out, the people watching will enjoy it ! Events like this is what the wrestlers deserve and the state of Tn!! Then after season many of these young men will train together for National stiff!! if you haven’t been to Cleveland for a match and a great environment then to Friday would be a great opportunity! Knox , Boskin , High and the others will spot light the event and give wrestlers something they will remember!!

I agree bumping wouldn’t be smart. I figured Maddox would be 44 and Blake 50. Cleveland has all kind of options and are straight up solid. For McCallie to even half way keep it close, McCallie would have to win every single swing match , avoid pins and I believe in the best case scenario , Cleveland still wins by 10. But I could see it going 41 -26 but that’s still with a couple swing matches going Mccallie’s way. One thing for sure, it’s going to be a great environment and atmosphere that the wrestlers will always remember. The wrestlers deserve these fun times and tough matches!! We are just glad we get to visit every year and no politics involved! Looking forward to an electric night! Good luck in Tulsa!! Bring those Eagles back!!

Bobby, You are certainly proving your lack of knowledge and ignorance. As to the font and me writing these words, your accusation is false and foolish. My son never repeated 8th grade. Nor 7th, 6th, 5th 4th,3rd or 2nd I did not recruit these wrestlers away from Mike and matter of fact, Dylan was the last one aboard! I did coach all these wrestlers during the summer for many years and our famlies traveled and we did indeed build a close relationship and some of us ended up joining together. Was hoping it would be at Boyd. We wanted to do something special at Boyd but when Axel Richie didn’t get in Boyd and was accepted into McCallie, the wheels started to fall off and the direction did change. Voiles also left ND and went to McCallie so the thought process did change. I did what Mike did for his son and gave him an opportunity for a great education and good fit for being a student athlete. Once we did commit then anyone who knows me, knows my passion and dedication and I may be guilty of that for certain!! Did I and do I express the great opportunity Mccallie offers …absolutely! The difference is I am a dad and not a coach. I could dive deep into this point of recruiting and have facts to back it up but it’s irrelevant at this point. Concerning several of the other wrestlers you call out, you haven’t a clue of the real underlying circumstance so stop spewing garbage till you have all the facts! Wrong again about Braden Ryan…he placed in state last year also and assisted in our unprecedented state run! You never did admit that you were wrong about your teams schedule either. They indeed backed out and it affected 3 other teams and some good matches. Thats why I called it out. It’s time to get back to the point of this thread and it’s about the teams. It probably will change as the season moves forward but I did like the fact that the author recognized Father Ryan’s body of work and talented group. I do believe Cleveland is still top dog and we thank them for hosting us as they put on a great event and the boys get spot lights and an amazing atmosphere. That’s what it is about. We don’t want a 10 year deal or a home and home scenario. We are perfectly happy with them hosting each year! Thats the difference in the 2 schools. Cleveland deserve the revenue because they put a lot of work into the whole program and are great host!

In a recent post, You admit you have little knowledge When Cleveland, Father Ryan and McCallie all line up against you, then you may have a problem with your credibility!!! The common theme behind Cleveland, Father Ryan and McCallie is we all want to win but we understand that it’s about the wrestlers and their journey and the great atmosphere! We aren’t living through our kids but supporting them in the journey ( win or lose)!!! The wrestlers are not worried about losing. They love the challenge and great atmosphere!!! It’s only the coaches and politicians that worry about losing!!! Baylor may get challenged while traveling but they seldom get that electric atmosphere and great environment and y’all dodge local competition! The recruiting expert once told me…he would only wrestle Cleveland when It made sense!!! ( Which told me that it was only when he could win)…sad and the wrestlers deserve better! Appears Baylor fears FatherRyan now and see them as a threat also! Maybe next year it will make sense to wrestle them after they graduate their studs!!! Father Ryan was on the schedule this year and Baylor sent the message that they would not wrestle!!! Facts!!! Lastly, if you think Baylor is down this year then you are truly out of the loop. Look at who they added to their roster this year that was not there last year!!!! They should have won last year but things happen! Lastly ….If we need to dip into the middle school records and show you who have advanced and excelled from the root source, we can do that also show you who builds from the ground up. Want to check what Baylor builds from kids club to middle school??? Father Ryan, Cleveland and McCallie have grounds to stand on!

Very good update!! I was wondering if Father Ryan would get the respect they deserve. They dominated a tough field at the Johnny Drennan!! Plus you add in the fact that Baylor backed out and refused to wrestle Father Ryan in a regular season dual so that says a lot! Unfortunately the MBA vs Mccallie and Baylor and Father Ryan vs McCallie and Baylor duals ended up cancelled due to weather anyway but Baylor had already backed out anyway. Cleveland is certainly the top dog and rightfully so! Mccallie will get an electric environment and incredible atmosphere next Friday when they wrestle Cleveland. Going to be a fun match and the boys deserve atmospheres like that!! In my opinion, Baylor is 3rd until they wrestle and Beat Cleveland or Father Ryan. Heck Baylor recruited 3 kids to their high school team this year and may not be done yet. Cleveland has just reloaded, McCallie added to their middle school but nothing to assist the high school yet and they do not have a senior on the team, so 4th is correct. fun times as the season starts to hit the final stretch. Can’t believe no one posted on this and gave this team the recognition they deserve! AAU team Tennessee went to Iowa and done what no other team had ever done and took down Iowa and the strength by holds in AAU nationals!!! Yes McCallie had a solid group of 8th graders and they showed up but we had an AAU team that wrestled their butt off and we didn’t just place in the top 5 … we won the whole dang thing! Yes the NHSCa’s were happening and that may have hurt but never once had TN ever won the national folkstyle duals national championship!! It was a team effort and some amazing young kids!!! We are not a fly over state any more… on a side note : we have any even better team for cadet National's team duals in Utah and have a chance to sweep both duals which would be unprecedented!!! However the funds aren’t there and USA isn’t in th position to help these kids get to utah as was AAU that got us to Iowa! Stay tuned for some oppertunities to help make a statement for Tn!!!

By the way… did you know the Fowlers were big supports and members of that Blackmon program? This thread was about club and Blackmon had the numbers and doing good things!!!

Why you being a jerk!!! My point was that Blackmon is also doing a really good thing as we’re not ever mentioned!!! That was my point and I Lord have mercy that I Post it and Cleveland was behind! Any person who follows wrestling and is in the AAU moment , knew that on Sunday that Cleveland was going to distance themself. My point was to bring Blackmon into the club debate because they actually have come out on top the last couple years!!! I can post the last couple years scores and break it down by each group for those years but that was never my intention! I was certain as the Jrs took the mat, things would change and as the MS takes the mat tomorrow, it will expand. An exceptional group of kids. I was just recognizing Blackman as no o e gave them any love in earlier posts. Workman and the Blackman group have built something solid. Yes their numbers are big but that’s awesome and speaks volumes for their support and what they are doing to help make TN better. Good luck to Trey and the really great group of JRs y’all have!!!

Once again the only time I may have ever been in a hospitality room at cleveland was back when Cleveland held the top 100 for the first time when the new gym was built. I have never been back there for a match when I was actually coaching since then. Been there 4 years ago when my son was a 4th grader for a middle school match and then last year for who’s #1 and that has been the only time I believe I have watched cleveland wrestle while at Cleveland and who’s #1 had various wrestlers across the state. Once again, I may not have had the best relations with Josh but no matter what you think, I pull for cleveland ad a whole u less it was against us “back in the buc days or vs Mccallie now”. When the conversation came up about K-12 programs today as the state was about to begin, I simple stated facts and didn’t even bring up Blackman has won. I did state they were leading and making a statement that Blackmon had put a lot of work in and should be recognized as a very good program.
