funny thing is Pep they did change the rules and the zonings to eliminate and bring us down. They bus kids 15-20 minutes away instead 5 -10 minutes to RIVERDALE. We are the ONLY school in the county that does not have a feeder school. That is ok. As far as working I no longer have a son on the team so i will be more visible now. My son was better than I thought he would be but he wasn't good enough to start. I do not know how much work he put in but the coaches want to win and if they felt my son was the best choice they would have started him. I was also proud of my son when I asked him if the guy ahead of him was better he said yes. Most kids do not respond like that they blame the coaches so I was proud of him for accepting accountability. I was also proud of him for not quitting when a younger player beat him out. The only time i was upset about his playing time was the last game of the year against blackman and a running clock in the 4th QTR i thought they should have given him some playing time there along with all the other 2nd teamers I LOVE MY WARRIORS I will still go to games and support them like i have since i was in school there in 89 GO WARRIORS

any one have a recap? I hate that i work saturdays i was going to try and make it but with the game being a 8Eastern time start that killed me. TDCman did our defense look prepared? Offense what was the problem?was it Ooltewah or a lot of self inflicted stuff?

I am thinking we should be really good this year. We have a lot of returning starters and a lot of players who had some playing time. I really know nothing about the Owls other then what has been said on here. Of course you know who i think i going to win its all in the name RIVERDALE 34 owls 14

Friday night can't come soon enough It is my understanding we are the second game. d any of you know about what time that would be? I really don't care about watching the other teams just my WARRIORS

I am kinda surprised by some of the comments I thought our secondary and recievers was going to be a strong point this year. I am not to surprised by the intesity level as both teams(prior to McGavock) are weak teams . I am looking forward to the first game I will do my best to get off work on time to make the road trip. Love a good road trip to start the year. My prediction for the year 8-2 We have a lot of returning starters some of them 2 year starters so I would be very shocked if we struggle . I think the addition of the transfer QB is huge as it puts Preston at reciever giving us another great athlete to go along with MARQUES CANTREL who I think is the REAL deal Looking forward to the season GO WARRIORS!!!!!

I really like our young talent we have right now. I like our new offense better and to be honest I think this years team espcially defensively is the most we have been prepared in a while. We don't look surprised on defense we generally have someone around the ball As a parent of a child that is a SR I am very proud of my son and his improvement during his 4years there. He isn't a starter and that is ok if the other guy is better the other guy is better but my son and the coaches have worked to improve his game and his improvement pushed the guy ahead of him and little things like that makes our team better. I think this is the best depth we have had on this team in a while and that will help get us back where we belong. I also think we will stop losing some of our players to other teams Over the next few years Go WARRIORS

Very well played game but my Warriors tonight. Both running backs did a good job running the ball. Defense struggled a little early and clean things up and did very well. We were winning 14 to 7 at halftime but it felt like they were beating us. In the second half it was all Riverdale. On a personal note Bryan did get the play. He played the final offensive series and they ran a touchdown right behind a great run by the running back breaking a few tackles in the secondary and just beat everybody else for the touchdown. On the other place it was and he had a couple nice blocks 2 very proud of him Now back to my warriors. I am really proud how the whole team has played our defense is tackling offense is blocking in running the ball well. And a special shout out to our kicker who is really put us in a positive position. Next is Blackman.

I'm really excited for this game this will be my son's first game coming from surgery. I have been following RIVERDALE football for a long time I AM PROUD TO FINALLY HAVE ONE OF THE FOUR KIDS On the team. He may not play much but I'm still proud of his hard work. As far as the game goes I am Riverdaleman so of course I think we win. I am ready for some Ricks barbecue before the game

What a game All phases of the game look really good real proud of our special teams are punter and kickoff did a great job i'll kick off single had 80 yards to go because he put it in zone every time but once. Offfense looked really good line block well skilled players executed and what do you say about the defense having a shut out Against a very talented team that two really good running backs never really got on track On a personal note my son Bryan is now a senior and he had to miss today's game because of surgery. However he will get the play next week he is not a starter but I am very proud of him a lot of kids once they lose a starting spot would've quit but he kept on and it still working hard every day to be prepared for the next play. He has a lot better than what I thought it was going to be I asked him when he did not become a starter was the other kid better and his response was yes not a lot of teenagers come up with that answer they always make an excuse but not him he said that the kid is better and still working hard. As a parent that is all I ask for out of my kid I don't know how much playing time he will get and it doesn't really matter I'm still very proud of his effort and his work that he is put in to become better and kuddos to the coaching staff is for improving his game tremendously. Bryan I am very proud of the young man you're becoming I love you

I hate seeing this my prayers are with his family I never met him nor would I know him if I saw him but I did enjoy his post and some of the banter we would have from time to time...God bless

My guess is coach A was asked about the rezoning and that was what he was talking about. I dint believe he was asked what is reason you are losing. I think thblame in a lot of places and there is not one thing that has caused but I will say that if a kid wants to go to a school they will for some reason we are not keepin our kids and we are not getting any kids moving in either.

actually this is not true...the ib program doesnt even start until there JR year. TSSAA doesnt care what school they go to until they start playing so even if they did make them go back to their zoned school which they wont they would not be elegible to play until sitting out a year I sm not sure of the exact number but of the 40 something students asking for a zone exemption for the IB program about 30 of them were athletes that is a lot of SMART athletes huh . So a friend of mine made a better suggestion....they go to their zoned school until their JR year when the IB program starts they can then switch to oakland...also my understanding is only 1 school in a county is allowed the IB program oakland did it to help get them off of the no child left behind list

I have a son on the team and I can attest to the fact that other than dead period he was at the school at 6am doing work u can also tell you that when i found it he was going to be second team I knew we were in trouble as I am not one of those parents that think their child us better than what he is. I did not give him enough credit as he is better than I thought he was. While he us not college material he dies his job when he gets the opportunity. His improvement is to be credited to his coaches and his hard work.

we have a scrimmage this friday against Franklin...my son isnt sure if its at RIVERDALE or franklin but looking forward to watching him play

this was a great season and a lot of fun. while we had a lot of talent the best part was their hard work and unselfishness. I agree with a previous poster about Coach Barrett...and I told him if you win state good job if you dont whats your problem...hard situation to come into in a way lol....this team obviously was very good and talented but they all had a goal and they worked together to achieve that goal played anybody and everybody to help prepare them to win a state title WAY TO GO LADY WARRIORS

We had a great game against independence has they hit a 3 pointer as the clock expired to send it into overtime and Brad woodson hit a 3 pointer to take a 2 point lead with 1 sec left on the clock as we get our first win of the year...Logan Thigpen had an awesome night scoring 24 points(or so)GREAT JOB KID For us to win this year I THINK we are going to have to do it with defense and great execution. We are going to be smaller than everyone we play in the district so we are going to have to play strong fundamentally...WE WILL PLAY HARD and all of the guys hustle every minute and as a fan I appreicate that

We had a good win against Independence last night with multiple players scoring a lot of points Ty did a great job leading us along with Alexa Tiffany Lewis hit some big 3s early to proived the lead and Brandy Alley provided a physical force in the middle. SHelbie was her usual self and of course O is always going to do her job and part Saturday night was another big win with multiple palyers doing so much...this is a team where I wish we had more basketballs because we have so many players that can do so much We do miss Cobi she is now starting for the georgia bulldogs so it is crazy to say you dont miss a player like that. but we do have enough to soften the blow last year we played mostly 6 deep and sometimes 7 this year he is playing 8 players a lot with a 9th player from time to time so we are a little deeper and if one of our girls gets into foul trouble we can plug someone in and still be ok... Welcome to our new coach Corey Barrett he has a lot of talent to work with and I hope he has fun and enjoys this experienced team 4 of our girls have started since freshman year so he has a lot of experienced talent .

so McMinn is 9-1..WOW what are yalls strengths?... I know this time of year everyone has injuries but I honestly dont remember a year like this we have several that are playing hurt and that is usual but we have a lot of kids that have season ending injuries against blackman we had 11 out and I think most of them are still out we may have gotten 1 or 2 of them back but we lost 1 or 2 more since then. But we will strap it up and see what happens whoever is playing will play hard GO WARRIORS

NOW THAT IS FUNNY....not only beating us but to beat us by 55 that is hilarious...the only way siegel beats us friday is turnovers... the winner of this game wins the turnover ratio and i dont think anyone wins by more than 2 tds

iI just hope siegal lets us come and play Friday night. I think this game will show just how good each team is as both teams really havent beem challenged thus far.....RIVERDALE wins by 10 GO WARRIORS
